Playing in my regular 3-6 game and I end up with two black kings utg utg +2. Two villain's in the hand.
Villain 1: losing reg who plays in the game a few times a week. Never seen him up in a session. Tends to buy in a few times whenever he plays. I've heard people say he doesn't need to worry money. Doesn't seem to have a good gauge on how people play at the table despite knowing everyone.
Villain 2: This guy has been at the table everytime I've ever played in this game. Seems like he plays for a living. Knows how to exploit players and I've seen him make great folds today when he knows he's beat and can read players well.
Otth:
I raise UTG +2 to 6. Villain 1 calls in MP and Villain 2 calls in the CO. Three players to the flop. The flop is:
Jh8h2d
I bet 3, villain 1 raises to 6, CO calls, I raise to 9 and both players call. Turn is:
Jh8h2d6h
I check villain 1 bets 6, villain 2 calls, I reraise to 12. Villain 1 snap calls. Villain 2 thinks about folding and after a while decides to call. The river is:
Jh8h2d6hAc
I check, villain 1 bets 6, villain 2 calls, I call knowing I'm beat.
Thoughts on the hand: I checked ott to c/f and tried to raise to get a low flush out of the hand. I thought I could represent a flush and in retrospect I think most players would just take me for a big heart. River call is just bad I know, but I'm sure people will want to reiterate that information despite stating it here. My main concern here is how to play villain 2 based on his perceptions of me. Will elaborate on this later in the post.
First, no one is playing live 3/6 for a living, unless they're playing 100+ hours a week and living a very low income lifestyle, and they would have to crush the game to even eek out $5/hr.
On the turn you're trying to rep a flush by playing in a way you wouldn't play a flush, and no one is ever folding a flush of any size anyway.
Also assuming that one of your two opponents has a flush is very MUBSy and you should bet the turn.
With the rake in a live 3/6 game, nobody is making a living playing 3/6.
Pre-flop and flop play is fine, but what kind of a hand would Villian 1 raise on the flop? Top pair good kicker? A flush draw?
I think the turn check is very bad. If no one has the flush, I would not be surprised if this checked through. Then you would have given any opponent with one heart a free card to draw out on you. You have to bet the turn.
Check raising the turn seems crazy. You should not play a flush that way if you had one and nobody is folding a flush anyway. Nobody is even folding one big heart.
If you're viewing V2 as a solid player you're folding this turn when V2 calls. I can make an argument for V1 being a spewy nut job given your description and playing back on the turn if V2 folds, but as described you cost yourself three big bets.
Thanks for the replies all. Apologies for the late reply. V1 showed AJo for a rivered two pair. V2 showed 45hh. Commented that he almost folded but as mentioned above natural flushes shouldn't be folding in low stakes limit making the play bad.
