Angle-shooting Cox. I like it. Unfortunately all the angle-shooting in the world won't solve it's many disconnects that plague their internet and slowdowns that make tv unwatchable at times.

As lousy as Comcrap is, it's better than Cox. Didn't think that was possible.

If losing $1k is that big of a concern, then really, you shouldn't be playing live poker. The stakes are too big.

You'd be better off getting some rakeback deal OL and grinding like NL 10/PLO 10 or $0.50/$1 FL. Now, you'd have a set deposit limit and can play in games where the rake is far more proportional than it would be in live 3/6.

The big issue is, at stakes like 3/6 or 4/8, there's MORE variance than in other games, because it's constantly 4-7 ways, may the best 5 cards out of 7 win. What that means is that you'll have to chase long shot draws, value bet one pair hands multiway, and in general you'll be finding yourself putting $ in way more often than you like (even if playing great). I definitely had $400-$500 losses in a few hours of 4/8, simply by being unable to make a hand. So I'm not sure why you'd risk your ability to potentially make money at poker in order to play these live games.

Can anyone comment on LeoDoc's aliveness? Haven't seen him around here in weeks.

oh good morning.

I may be requesting help in the writing of a speech which is to be directed at doctors and cops sometime in the near future. Feel free to ask questions that you think may be brought up so I can practice my responses. Thanks.

It's gonna be somewhere in New England, I believe perhaps in or close to Boston if anyone wishes to attend. Pm me for details.

I liked the Tom Brady commercial last week with his monologue. I don't necessarily agree with everything said, as I was having a discussion as the commercial aired about how it's about damn time that Tom gets to claim the spotlight as one of the best quarterbacks ever.

Every year about this time I like to tell the story of the magic lighter, the particular placement of which by myself atop a television just at the right moment, just after Tom apparently fumbled vs the Raiders on a snowy night in Foxboro, was perfectly timed to the effect that something magic was created. A rule, which was so rarely cited, so utterly ridiculously perfect, came into the lights of Foxboro that night. The famed tuck rule.

The rest is history. Fact is Tom can lose the Superbowl this time and still go down in history as one of the best ever. He could literally throw for 147 yards, with 0TD and 4 INT on 28 attempts, and still he'd have some seemingly insurmountable postseason stats.

I was in attendance that night. Such a fun game.

And he is the worst starting QB in super bowl history. How does that make me upset?

Before my wife and I got married, we did this exercise where we went through this list of hypothetical situations. Some were deadly serious, like, "What would you do if you suspected your spouse was cheating on you?" One was more lighthearted - "How would you settle a dispute if one person wanted to watch a sports game and the other wanted to do something else?" Neither of us being huge sports fans, we jokingly agreed that neither of us really cares unless the Patriots are in the Super Bowl, in which case I get to watch the whole game uninterrupted.

At the time we made the agreement, I think the O/U on Patriots Super Bowls in the next 20 years had to be like 0.5.

Passer rating of 141 in the conference title game. And will forever be in the NFL record books for his perfect passer rating 7 TD game, which had never been done before.

what if I told you that for about $10-$20/hour, poker could be really fun? Also, that_pope's game is often underrated.

-$20/hr is the average winrate at a $6/hand drop table. That doesn't count as terrible in my book. I thought he meant like people who walk in with $200 and try to blow through that in an hour.

At any rate, having huge hourly losses can easily be offset by playing fewer hours.

In unrelated news, I played less in 2017 than I have in any year since 2006.
