I'd put that one fourth, personally.

I never forgot about Beatsie Boys, and therefore can't "re-discover" them as per the rules quoted below. Also you can't really describe them as "an artist from the 80's that had a few big hits," at least not in the spirit that I believe the Captain meant.

Thank you... this isn't a "Name your favorite song and band" from the 80's thread.

This is more about a song you had forgotten about, or never knew who the band was, or they weren't massively popular where everyone knows them. You probably haven't heard the song in 5+ years.

If someone had told me Toto was the name of a band, I would've been 50/50 on if that was true. I recently heard Africa on TV, but couldn't place the song title or artist, so I had to google it. The point is maybe there are a few songs that will pop up that people will go "Oh yeah, I remember that song! Who's that by?"

If you name a Guns n' Roses song, you're doing it all wrong. Unless you don't know who they are.

It's like the music from Scorsese movies like Casino. I've heard it many times but don't know from where. Then I realized it's the piano ending from Eric Clapton's Layla.

Dumb question, but are the cards used in LHE in a casino Bridge sized cards, or Poker sized cards?
08-13-2017 , 02:52 AM
Bridge

I think

Def bridge...I have a setup of poker-sized KEMs and they are bigger than what is used in the cardroom

ETA: they're warped, which sucks, but I don't play home games any more, so I guess it doesn't matter

Moving to Abu Dhabi at the end of September.

Going to make a pit stop in Iceland, Norway, Sweden and Denmark between then. Anyone know what's up with the LHE in the UAE?

Isn't gambling a headectomy offense?
08-14-2017 , 02:33 PM
There is no future in UAE because there is no gambool.

Unless the people who have responded have specific knowledge of UAE, you should look more carefully.

At least some countries have teh gambol (and this also goes for teh alcohol or teh prostitution or strangely enough teh church), but nationals are forbidden - that is, you'll need a foreign passport to enter these dens of evil.

Googled a bit, found this:

Other links promote online. I'd avoid it.

Yikes. Definitely no future in UAE.

Better wipe your laptop clean too. Not just of poker software, but all your porn, delete browser histories, etc. Same with your phone.

I'll be occasionally traveling from MN to CA for work and will be overnight in Vernon for the first time next week, so the question is Commerce or The Bike to play in the 6-12 neighborhood?

Commerce sounds sketchy, but my company requires us to stay at the DoubleTree so it will be convenient. I will have a car to though so that's not my deciding factor.

The bike 8/16 is a joke. The 1st time I played it I won 11 racks and I was pretty drunk. the twenty game there is very good as well-and the players and hosts are very very friendly I totally suggest the bike. I have over 350 hours logged at the bike and I've made some friends that I keep in touch with when I'm not there it's a great atmosphere and a great casino

Traffic is horrible in LA and you will need to consider the time of day you want to play.

West Coast traffic starts early because people whose work is attached to financial markets tend to work like 6 am to 3 pm to sync with New York. It also ends late because employers in general offer more flexibility to roll in at 10 am in a T-shirt and flip flops.

If you intend to play 9 pm to 12 am, you have more distant options available. If you get off work at 5 and want to play 5:30 pm to 8:30 pm, you may be limited to the absolute closest room.

Google Maps is your friend. Use the "Depart By" function.

If every 6-12 LHE in the entire country isn't the exact same I'd be surprised.

Pretty much this. Just go the closest casino.
