TV poker is missing out. Someone ought to send camera crews around to various card rooms and find a game like I played in today. That'd boost ratings, imo.
That's the thing about (poker) tv - there needs to be more tension (comedic, dramatic, romantic, violent, sexual, confrontational). What you're describing is a game that would show how fun and entertaining poker can be, thus the message is, "look how much fun we are having gambling in a setting where everybody w a chip and a chair is welcome, maybe you should try this". But poker audiences want to either see the best playing for high stakes tourney or cash game, or they want to see hashtagkid insult kinda famous players' wives. Poker content (like all television?) puts their business interests above the well-being of the subject they are covering. It is nice when those interests are aligned though
