Just Tom Sawyered the kids into mowing the lawn. A+++++ would laze again

I didn't know any kids were old enough to mow the lawn, but young enough to be Tom Sawyered.

Ain't no child labor laws in my household.

No rules from wife about not getting her baby's foot chopped off either?
04-15-2017 , 07:57 PM
It's California, not Texas. My son asked to push the push mower 10 feet, not take the riding mower out to clear the ranch.

It's been said many times before but I believe that the all-time CHAMPION WOAT LHE player (if not WOAT poker player) in the ENTIRE WORLD plays occasionally at Talking Stick's 8-16. He goes in spurts: disappears for months, plays a bit, disappears for months, etc. I'll offer anybody this bet giving 3:1 odds: If, after 4 hours of play, he's stuck at least 3 racks I win. If he's up even $1 you win and the rest is a push.

I am free rolling that bet bec I have never, ever, ever seen him win, not one cent. Today he was in danger of actually winning for once but blew it w/i 20 minutes. Something is actually wrong here bec even the worst (and usually the worst by turns) can win multiple racks but not The Champ!

IMR, what're the odds of never winning? Even if you play w/ your eyes closed you have to win sometimes, right?

Well there are ways to guarantee a loss. Notably putting in a ton of action and then always folding before showdown. But yes if you aren't intentionally trying to lose it is pretty much impossible to never win.

This player manages it somehow. Calls 80%+ pf, calls down w/ any piece, any draw, pays off 'light' isn't even the word. Burns through a rack, buys more. Burns through that, takes the Walk of Shame, and buys more. More, more, more. He can easily lose 5+ racks and has NEVER won when I've played against him. It's uncanny.

You should look at what in his style is different than the average loose/passive. The 80/5 guy with a 40%-50% WTSD has to win sometimes, right? He makes one big hand in a juiced pot. He makes and wins with 2nd pair more than his fair share. This guy is different? Maybe he makes a bonus 5 hopeless calls an hour. Maybe he folds winners in spots where most terrible players don't. Figure it out. The secret sauce to never winning.

Agree. I've played with one person who did something like this in a home game. Chase any draw or any hope to the river. Then MUBS. He never won.

We can consider all of the things that make someone a terrible player, add it all up and multiply by 10, and that is this player. He STILL should win sometimes but I'm not exaggerating, there's not a bit of overstatement on my part. He is the worst and has never won that I've seen. Maybe he's a lifetime mathematical outlier of some sort. Sits there quietly, puts in chips, never wins, ever. But, last night, he was bought in for 4 racks and at one point had 4 racks in front of him. That didn't last long and I just 'can't' believe it bec any given 'horrible' will win big occasionally but not him. Not him.

If some Talking Stick reg wants it I'll look for you in the room when this guy's playing and you can watch for yourself.

Sounds like someone may need to talk to Pope about his drinking problem

I had $5800 on the table of a 20/40 game in which I was in for $1500 and I woke up thinking I had lost all the money in my wallet. So yeah...

There was one ref that I played with quite a few times (st least 25+) almost all 40-80 and one day he had a good day and then I saw him getting into an. Fight with the cage becuaaw they wanted his ID to cash out

I find it super-confusing that OKC is wearing all red jerseys in Houston.

Yeah, sure. It's really interesting to me bec every single bad player is not only capable of winning multiple racks, they do it all of the time. But not this guy. I consider it 'impossible' for him to never win. Maybe he wins when I'm not there but even that is hard to believe and I'm pretty sure some ppl may think that I'm exaggerating but I'm not.
04-17-2017 , 09:36 PM
I believe you.

I've totally wanted to visit you guys for some time. If the Fun Bunch decides to head to AZ, I'm planning on it.

That'd be GREAT!
