I'm actually so casual to my work environment, that my twin sister is convinced that I don't really work in an office.

Sounds like I need to move.

A 08 hand from today's 0E game:

A few limpers and I call w/ AQ103, get some callers behind.

Flop:

J92 checked to me, I bet, get a couple callers.

Turn: 8 I bet, get one caller.

River: K. I bet and the other guy starts the services for his card funeral and goes into the good 'ole 'you got lucky, buddy. I flopped the flush draw, you got REAL lucky.' He's still shuffling his cards and shaking his head, mucks his cards, and says it again: 'You got really lucky, buddy, REALLY lucky.'

I figured that this might be one of the few times to rub someone's face in it so I rolled over my hand and ask 'Who got lucky?'

That damn game usually plays huge on Saturdays but not today so I moved back to HE and won $43. yay.

^ Raise preflop.

A toss up at best. Once a few limps go in these ppl will call w/ all kinds of bad hands. So I can take the flop very multi-way w/ a decent hand or try to drive out players behind me who may or may not be able to fold. And it's not as if that hand is the greatest. No, I'd rather have more callers.

I suppose I ought to mention that it's the 8-16 game. For the 20-40 you're probably right.

I'd raise and hope a lot of people call. That looks like a premium multi-way hand to me.

Yes it is. Problem for me was the 'hope' part. I would've been happy if nobody had folded pre. Eh, I'll raise it next time and see what happens.

As an aside: What a disappointment! Last week the pots were counted by the rack. Today was not an action line-up. I know the game's too small for you but next swing through town I'd like you to look at it bec sometimes there's mind-bogglingly huge pots that have to be seen to be believed.

ETA: I see that I said 'it's not the greatest.' That's because I'm the doom and gloom type given to distraught over-statement.

I had this EXACT SAME THING happen to me.

Except I was playing 200plo8 so it wasn't nearly as big a deal, but I didn't realize it until I ran my nut-low and set into a flush and got nothing.
04-09-2017 , 04:48 PM
I did it thinking I was playing Stud8 and watched in horror as I didn't get my end for the low but it was only 3-6 so it was a cheap enough lesson.
04-09-2017 , 05:11 PM
Did that at the Orlean Omaha high. I realized it as I was throwing in chips to call the river. Too late to grab them in mid-flight.

I once made a terrible calldown in Stud 8 with JJ9 and some low cards forgetting that the game plays with a qualifier.

I'd bet that a thread in LCP about this would be a never ending source of hilarity.

Hold on: Prob not in a live setting. Except for pig.

My very first hand of O8 I folded what would have been the winning low because I forgot there was a low. I got a free look with JT42 and flopped Q53, chased the OESD on a J turn and the 7 river checked through. Someone showed two pair or a set and I turbo mucked, then someone showed A3 and the dealer said "no low" and I was like DOH. Someone had like 82 for the low. Blech.

If this keeps up I may start that thread.

Long awaited LHE forum merger happening in about a week. Details in this thread.

Good times, great oldies, poker-failures.

2/4 limit holdem around 4am est about 10 years ago; near hour 30 of marathon session; the game is built around me of course:

I raise KTo, bunch of calls.

flop KT4

I bet, some calls, some folds.

5

I bet, just one call.

6

I bet, he calls.

I declare my King high flush and turn over my cards. Then the table informs me that I don't have a flush. I say "but I got the King of Diamonds!" They say "no you don't. You have two pair." I look down and to my amazement my King of Diamonds has magically turned into the King of Clubs. I scooped with two pair anyways.
04-10-2017 , 09:31 AM
I've done that after twenty-minute marathon sessions! Still solid gold

I love when I announce my two cards, flip them over, find i have neither, and am still playing out a hand in my head and have called down since pre-flop with a completely different hand.

My friend did that way back when. He raised 88 (which was nonstandard to us) and then butchered the hand (which was totally standard to us). He mentally marked it for review and the next hand he was dealt 87o and played it like he had 88.
04-10-2017 , 10:53 AM
Once I played A4o like it was AA cus I thought the 4 was an Ace. I won the hand without showdown so nobody ever knew.
04-10-2017 , 10:56 AM
A couple months ago I had a showdown that went like this:

Me: "I have the straight..... wait actually I have a flush.... wait actually it's a royal flush" Oops. Completely forgot that my T was the Th
