URL: Tournament Poker Manager

I have created a free (donations accepted) hand replayer and tracking database for hold em tournaments.

Currently the application supports

Full Tilt (new version in the next day or 2)
888
Bovada/Bodog
Merge Network (RPM, Carbon, etc)
Winning Poker Network (Lock, Juicy Stakes, etc)

Some Features of the Replayer:
  • Visual Notes. Ability to save notes on each hand that are saved to the hand history file. Send the hand history file to others and they can visually see your notes as they replay the hands.
  • A box chart that shows the color coded results of each hand. Clicking on a box in the chart will jump directly to the hand.
  • The option to only play hands in which you voluntarily put money in the pot.
  • Exporting of the hand to HTML for posting to web sites and bulletin boards.
  • Hiding or showing of all known hole cards for all players. Bovada/Bodog hand histories contain the hole cards for all players for every hand. See how the fish play!
  • Tournament summary information automatically derived from hand histories. Information such as finish position, amount won, hands per hour and more.
  • Autoplay to automatically play all hands without user input.

Some Features of the tracking database:
  • Mass import utility which will read data from an Excel file to load tournament results from any poker site.
  • Utility to import all hand history tournament summaries from all files in a directory.
  • Exporting of data to Excel
  • Enter only the information you want for each tournament. No fields are required to save the data
  • Full Tilt Poker, 888 Poker, Bovada/Bodog, Merge and Lock/Cake summary results are automatically saved from hand histories

Some Features of the Statistics Page:
  • Month by month profit/loss results for 4 trailing years.
  • Statistics including Total Buy Ins, Total Winnings, Profit, ROI% ITM%, Average Buy In, Average Won, Average Profit and Total Number of Tournaments
  • Profit/Loss over time chart.

There are videos and more details on the website.

This application is not meant to compete with the Poker Trackers and Hold Em Manager's, but instead a simple way to replay tournaments, share hand histories and track your performance.

There is also a community section which I am currently building out that has hand histories that you can download and replay. You can also submit your own hand histories for review or review others and submit them.

This is a part time hobby project of mine, but I would like to improve it and add features that people think are useful.

I would also like to add support for Poker Stars and Party Poker, but since I am from US I cannot play these and their play money tournaments do not generate hand histories (this is how I did FTP and 888). If anyone would like to send me some hold em hand histories that would be great so I could add them to the replayer.

Any feedback and suggestions are greatly appreciated and hope you find it useful.

No plans as of now, but maybe once I am done adding the cash game options.

Also, the app now supports PokerStars tournament games as well (I had a sample size of 1 hand history to code against so there may well be bugs).

Want to try this out because it looks like a cool program, but dont want to download something that could have a virus. Could someone who is smarter than me make sure this is safe? Would be down to donate if I end up liking it

Hopefully 1 of the people who have downloaded will chime in and let you know the file is safe, but best bet to independently verify is to google for something along the lines of "test file for virus" and use one of the many online tools. Symantec,Norton, etc have web sites where you can upload a file to test for viruses.

Its a good practice in general to download any files from unknown sources onto your non playing PC and either scan with a full tool like AVG or Kaspersky or use one of the online tools.

I can vouch that it is safe, but since I programmed it that doesn't mean much. If you do verify it, please post and let others know as well.

Also, I am doing a rewrite of the app and if anyone wants to volunteer to help me design the replayer screen (create a table, background images, buttons, etc) I will gladly take the help.

Thanks!

This looks like a nice tool. I downloaded it and scanned it for viruses, and it seems okay. If I had wanted to be more thorough, I could have used an online scanner to run it through multiple anti-virus scanners, but I guess I'm too lazy. My one scan will do for me for now. The program looks clean.

As for the specifics of the tool: I'm enjoying the replayer, which is why I got it, but the tournament tracker got my attention as well.

I like the replayer. Fits my needs quite well. And I like the option to hide or show hole cards. Each option helps me get into either my or my opponent's head a little better.

It's trivial, but I'd like an option to always put me in the same seat. That's the way I play online, but in terms of feature requests, that one serves almost no real value, so it should be near the bottom of any list or features to add.

What I was disappointed with was the import...it's simply not working for me. But to complicate things, I am largely a Double or Nothing SNG player, so I suspect the tool may have been confused by that.

I'll continue to use the replayer, but for now the tournament / import feature isn't too useful for me. I could manually input my tournament results, and if I were just now starting tracking I would. But I've got my tourneys in PokerScore, so I'll probably just stick with that for now.

Regardless, thanks for a nice tool...at least the part I can use. The rest looks quite nice.

AJay,

You are right, I have not concentrated much on SNG (I pretty much play MTT exclusively). I will take a look at the code and fix this (it should be very easy to fix). I am not doing much updating lately as I am working on a new version with much improved graphics and better replayer functionality. I am also adding cash game functionality as well. I have the Bodog version about ready to go (minus the database tracking features) and may put a link out soon for that as well.

One question to help me troubleshoot, which site is the SNG not working for? And can you email 1 of your hand histories to tournamentpokermanager@gmail.com?

I will PM you when I get the SNG bug fixed.

Thanks for taking the time to post your feedback.

Carbon is the site I play, so any Merge site should be the same. I'll email you a hand history.

Thanks for looking at this.

And thanks for a nice tool.

I updated the app to fix the issue. Neither of the hand histories contained much useful information such as buy-in, amount won, or position, but it will still put what was in there into the tracking database. You will just have to manually input the rest of the data you want to track.

Thanks for the update. The import utility is handling standard Merge SNGs now. It still didn't recognize the DoNs.

You're right that the files have little info in them. No buy-in, no final position.

Technically, you could get the buy-in from the title of the DoNs, but that wouldn't cover the rake amount. And it wouldn't work for regular SNGs.

To determine a winning player's position in a DoN or SNG, you could parse the file to see if the Hero was Out on the last hand. If not, Hero came in 1st. But if the player didn't come in first, you can't tell what position without extra coding that's probably not worth the effort.

Anyway, thank's for looking at the Merge files. And I'll definitely be using this as a replayer.

It doesn't support stars?

It should work for Stars NLHE tournaments. I had a total of 1 hand history to code off of, so it is also possible it will not if the hand history has changed. If you cannot get it to work and it is NLHE tournament, please send me the hand history and I will see where the problem is. You can email to tournamentpokermanager@gmail.com

For those of you interested, I have put up a download of the new version of the application that will support all Hold 'Em games.

Currently it is only working for Bovada/Bodog (as I have lots of HH to code off of for this site).

It will work for Cash Games, SNG's and MTT's.

It works slightly different than the previous version in that it will convert any HH you load into a native file and saves those files to your default "My Documents"/TPM folder. You can then make notes and send those file to others who have the software.

Couple of Note:

The software is not backwards compatible. I needed to change the file layouts to support SNG's and Cash Games. It will still load any HH from poker sites, but the old .TPM files will not work with this new software.

The replayer has been greatly improved (in my opinion).

I have not had a chance to recode the database and statistics stuff yet (but I am working on it).

The home page for my temporary web site is:
OnlinePokerManager

You can also get to it from the home page of the regular site. Just download the preview version when you get to the download page.

Any Bovada/Bodog regs out there, I would appreciate any feedback (good or bad).

Hello jhk. I'd be interested in trying out your Tournament Poker Manager, most likely for the hand replayer and the tracking database IF it can read my particular hand history files. I am no expert at HH's, by any means, but I think that it's pretty strange - all of my hand histories are in *.xlsx format, or Excel files. For a glimpse of what they basically look like, go here:

http://i.imgur.com/EEWquVu.png

Is your Tournament Poker Manager capable of reading those type of hand histories and then anylizing them for stats and replay them if needed? This would be the first time that I've ever heard of any software that can do that for hand histories in the Excel format. The HH's are from BetOnline, so I guess that I shouldn't be too surprised. I guess they don't want anybody to actually get smarter at poker; just to look at the HH's for a hand that seemed to have an incorrect payout or something... beats me. Anyways, if Tournament Poker Manager doen't happen to read *.xlsx hand histories, PM me if you want and I'll send a bunch of HUSnG hand histories to you that I have in the Excel format, so you can put in some code to read them, if you want to. I just want to be able to replay all of my HUSnG hands to see what I can find out about villains' ranges and also take notes on their weaknesses, and also review my own weaknesses. Get back to me if you're interested in supporting *.xlsx hand histories and I'll give you several dozen to get started with. Thanks - MidPair

It's been a while since I visited the forums, but my software only works with bovada/bodog hand histories.

I am going to post a couple of hand histories to my site (with my comments) on a few deep runs I had lately so if interested take a look.

GutPunch,

Actually I do not know if it works for Zone Poker. If you try it and it does not work, can you send me your hand history so I can make it work. I play tournaments almost exclusively so I don't get much cash hand histories to work off of.

Also realized I have not updated this thread in a long time so for those who could not find it, the new website is:

www.onlinepokermanager.com

The old website and program is gone and the new program now only supports bovada/bodog. I should probably start a new thread so it is less confusing.

You can send any hand histories or questions, etc to

onlinepokermanager@gmail.com

There is a video on the web site that shows how to use it. Its under the utilities option. Just pick a directory and it will import all of the hand histories it finds. It also make a copy to your 'my document' folder so you can add notes and send to others if you like.

I emailed you about some feature requests just so you know. Mostly I'd like to see sorting the statistics by game type and/or buy-in. Also I think an average game time statistic would be cool for tournaments/sngs to calculate your hourly with the roi stat.
