I didn't undertake any measures to disappear, and I could be found by many criteria.
It is normal. PokerStars good fellows. PartyPoker, for example, at all is not engaged in safety.

Comrade petrovi4, what you are developing is bad for our games, hence you have already been warned by PokerStars. I am shocked why you have not been warned/banned here on 2+2 yet and why this thread is still open.

Meanwhile go do something productive with your time; work on your English language and/or write a software to catch cheaters. (no pun intended).

Why has this threas and user not been banhammered yet.....this is cheating guys....I am all about gaining any edge I can so long as it is not against TOS, but this is blatantly against poker sites TOS.

It is not 2+2's job to enforce the poker site's TOS.

They're a dozen programs that mine/handgrab poker sites, this guy is just offering his for free. The link still not working but thanks for the bump.

Also, just in case you missed PokerStars' response to the free software offered by OP.

Stopping data-mining is either impossible or a practice the sites are not inclined to prevent.

Since data mining is allowed, there is little rational debate about the morality of using it.

I suggest that folks find sites that can prevent data-mining (if even possible) if this is a major concern for them.

But when the site allows it or the situation simply cannot be policed, all "STOP RUINING OUR GAME" means is that some folks are unwilling to put in the effort to use this technology to their advantage. I imagine some ice men got pretty tweaked when the refrigerator came out too.

This is not analogous to cheating, since all sites prohibit cheating and most if not all take an active role to combat cheating.

I believe data mining is a perfectly valid tool. If data mining could be prevented and/or it were banned on a site, I would be perfectly content to play in an environment where it is not part of the game.

The bottom line here is that poker is a game where all players should have access to the same data as everyone else (except personal hole cards). Data mining does not change this, since all players can use data mining. You choose to decline this option at your bankroll's peril.

And one could easily construct scenarios where your "old school" ways put you at the advantage. Suppose you are a regular in a b+m room with several players who just pass through for a few hours. Now it is YOU who have the mental hand histories and the other players is in a totally new situation.

And it would not be so hard to nix hand histories. I believe a simple mapping from your user ID to a termporary player number would do the trick. Now the data mining programs would have to "start over" every time a player enters a game. If the match between those two numbers was private between the user and the site, I believe the data mining programs would be more or less thwarted. Lose the avatars and we'd never know who our opponent is. Every game would be a brand new game and we'd never have any info beyond the current session.

This is probably in line with what you want and seems feasible from a technical point of view. I would not object to such changes. But unless that comes to pass, the pragmatic approach is to do what the dinosaurs failed to do. Adapt.
