placemint uses regex expressions (matched with the window-titles) to assign a group of windows to a group of slots.

you can do this yourself or download the standard regex definitions from the sourceforge page.

mkay

so I have that figured out

now: do I have to save my "PartyPoker" configuration under a specific name? Is there a specific trick to loading the different profiles? I saved it under PartyPokerWINDOWS or something, but when I load it (with the regex posted above) nothing happens...

another problem: I wanted to tell the program to exclude Firefox (I would do this by adding a 'Firefox' group and telling it not to "enable", right?), but for some reason the regular expression list that I downloaded won't show up in the placemint configuration window...

Neku,
To save separate configurations use the Save As button in the configuration window. This will create one XML file for each of your configurations. You can then load any of the configurations you have created from the main window under File > Load.

When you download the RegexList from the website, you then have to tell PlaceMint where the file is. Tools > Options > Files.

Each group will only include windows that match the regular expression. If you are getting unwanted windows in the group, that means the regular expression needs to be fixed. Creating a second group and disabling it will do nothing as each group is entirely separate and a disabled group is skipped over when windows are being placed.

thx IrishThug

I think it means that there's a problem with the reg exp I'm using (I'm using the updated one you posted somewhere on the forum for the new Party), because it keeps resizing and moving Firefox & Outlook. Also, it's stacking some tables one atop of the other in slot 5, say, when slot 4 is empty?

and a regex for party poker tournaments and SnG's:

Code:
\s(\(|#|)\d+\)?\s(Table\s#\d+\s)?-\s\s(NL\s|PL\s|)\s(Hold'em|Omaha|7\sCard\sStud)(\sHi-Lo|\sHi)?($|\s-\s\$[\d,.]+\sBuy-in$)
@neku: I highly doubt the regex I posted in a previous post would recognize firefox or outlook...

I browsed this thread thru and tried to get this application working for two hours but with no success

Could someone please provide a step-by-step instruction on how to run this tool with iPoker minitables (Carlos Poker) and with two monitors. I'd like it to work like PartyPlanner.

All the tables would be the same size FWIW... 13 tables all in all.

ok, quick&dirty setup tutorial:

1: open placemint
2: tools - configure (just click ok, when it says "files ...xml not found")
3: click "add new group"
4: enter group title
5: enable "custom"
6: in the field below the custom-checkbox you enter your your ipoker screenname, followed by a : (for example "e306:")
7: select tab "slots"
8: click "add a new slot"
9: enter size: 518 x 349 (when you use vista, this size is probably not exact. adjust it if wrong)
10: enter location: 0 x 0

11: click "clone selected slot"
12: enter location: 518 x 0

11: click "clone selected slot"
12: enter location: 0 x 349

13: click "save". click "exit".

14: ship moniez to "e306" on carlospoker.

now you have 3 slots. open 3 miniview tables to see how it works - you have to add the other slots in placemint yourself. pm me if you need further assistance.

if you have got autohotkey installed, just start any script, rightclick on the little "H" on the bottom right and select "WindowSpy".

just trying different values by hand without any software-help also works most of the time.

You can also check the Show checkbox and a sample window will be displayed. The sample window will have the size and shape corresponding to the values entered for that slot.

EasyDoesIt,
I can upload the Party Regex changes this weekend.

Hi. I tried to use the program and look in the thread and read the guides but i dont get it at all. I want to use the program when i play at partypoker. How do I get Placemint to know that a partypokertable opens up and put it at the correct slot. Is it in the regexlist or what? Maybe i dont get the whole picture in this programme because im from sweden and isnt that good in english. I used partyplanner before but this seems to be a better programme.

Hoping you can help me

Best regards
Henrik in Sweden

The regular expression you pick for a group is how PlaceMint knows what windows you put in slots. You can download a Regex list from the website that will give you a set of regular expression for a number of poker sites. Party just changed their window naming convention, so for right now you will need to select custom and paste in the regular expression posted above.

Finally i manage to get the partypokerlobby to work perfectly. But i have problems with the tables. I checked the custom and paste ^(Table|Speed|Jackpot|Beginners)\s(\s|#)\d+\s(\(No \sDP\)\s)?-\s\s(NL\s|PL\s|)\s(Hold'em|Omaha|7\sCard\sStud)\s( Hi-Lo\s|Hi\s)?-\s\$[\d.,]+/\$[\d.,]+$ under this. Then i made some slots and save it but when i open some tables they dont appear in the main window or take place in the correct slot.

But now i get the picture how the programme work. What am I doing wrong with the tables you think? I have swedish as language in my pokerclient. Do you think that will matter? The tablesname are still in english although i have swedish language so maybe it wont matter..

thanks

okey. I finally did a breaktrough. Instead of typing ^(Table|Speed|Jackpot|Beginners)\s(\s|#)\d+\s(\(No \sDP\)\s)?-\s\s(NL\s|PL\s|)\s(Hold'em|Omaha|7\sCard\sStud)\s( Hi-Lo\s|Hi\s)?-\s\$[\d.,]+/\$[\d.,]+$ in the field i wrote speed and a speedtable immediately pops up i the slot and on the mainwindow. WHOHOO. But of course i want to all kinds of tables will work. Any suggestions?

There is a chance that the language could be the reason you are having issues. At least one other person has had that as the issue on another poker site.

Just tried PlaceMint with party poker, and sometimes it puts two tables in the same slot, which is annoying while using a poker application that might require user input on a table that is behind another one. Is this normal?

Also it seems to randomly switch slots every now and then?

gball,
I just uploaded the changes EasyDoesIt posted about Party, so download those and try it out. Two windows can not be in the same slot, do you have to slots assigned to the same location? Also a window will only change which slot it is assigned to if the window location changes enough to trigger the drag and drop swapping or if you hit a swap hotkey.

I don't play on Doyle's Room, so I can't comment on what that regular expression should be.

Yeah I was using the regex EasyDoesIt posted. Played another session today and tables were definitely switching slots. First I thought it was associated with another tables opening or old ones closing, but then it happened a few times seemingly at random. I wasn't moving any tables when it was happening, nor have swap hotkey assigned.

EDIT: could overlapping slots cause problems?
EDIT2: I do NOT have "Swap On New Find" checked

is it possible to add an option that the new table initially opens in a fixed slot (e.g., the last slot) or the last available slot, and then try to find an open slot and move there?

currently it seems that the new table shows up where the old table closes, but because I use the ripple forward option, that slot is already used. sometimes the new table would stay in this slot, and the other table is moved to the last available slot.

hopefully I have made myself clear.

Billxo1b,
Tools > Options > Swapping: Make sure swap on new find is unchecked. Doing this will cause new windows to always be sent to the first available slot and will never swap with an existing window.
