Most of those settings haven't been exposed as yet, i'm not sure that any of the developers is interested in doing it as yet though.
hudprefix="" hudsuffix="" should work.
ie.
That is actually on my list, just not very high.

basiccally ive got ervything installed buy cant import hands cand get a hud to appear cant get it auto import...n0 stats to view.... have couple of screen shots couple posts up

i feel guilty asking for free help... wow just thought of something that would eleminate 95% peoples problems...very detailed walk thru with pics for win XP (if they aint usin XP...oh well...everybody still is!!)of download, install, and, config,,,,,all in one spot,,,and current wow...and w/o so mant options of files and sql's...u guys are getting killed trying to please too many....pleaz the mass..thats it...

Quick looks tells me you are almost certainly using an old version of the config file.

0.12 and later do not have passthrough as a filter option, and the gui reads the available filters from the config file.

You need at least:
I recommend taking the HUD_config.xml.example file and starting over.

Without that and hhArchiveBase set correctly you aren't going to get very far.

It looks like you had the correct username and password for mysql, which is a good first step, and it looks like the python setup is at least 90% complete. - the rest is making sure you have the correct config file (in the right location) with a few additional values to make it work.
You'd think a walkthough would be easy... I have a mini rant as too why that isn't the case a few months ago in this thread when talking about creating an installer. It's also getting harder as we haven't actually put out an official release in a long time.

I wanted to know both the values of the shortcut you were using as the 'startup directory' (?) could affect whether it can find HUD_main.py at runtime.

If you could run fpdb.py from the command line with the '-x' option that might give us some more clues.

Something like: Start->run->cmd

cd \fpdb\pyfpdb
python fpdb.py -x

Interestingly, when I had the HUD working in v0.11 I was running it from a desktop shortcut. I tried to modify the shortcut properties to run 0.12 but I couldn't get it to work so I just ran the fpdb.py file in Windows Explorer.

Anyway, here is the screen shot when running with the -x switch:

also:i ll change the exmple config extention to a real config and place it in the C:\Documents and Settings\Hans\Application Data\fpdb folder?

do i type correct config setting directly into config file...where are the correct settings.dont think i found them..as i recalled all the confog examples i looked were same and didnt elaborate on coorrect settings to input to get fpdb running proper....

I'm pretty sure it hasn't come from the latest download.
I'm not sure if it is Application Data or Local Settings(\Application Data?), i suspect you have an old version in one of these folders.
You dont need to add the <hhcs> section if you are using the config file from the latest download.

You need to change:
<import hhArchiveBase="~/.fpdb/HandHistories/" - Point that too a temprary directory
<site HH_path="C:/Program Files/PokerStars/HandHistory/YOUR SCREEN NAME HERE/"
<database db_server="mysql" db_user="fpdb" db_pass="YOUR MYSQL PASSWORD"

OK i was one with messed up config....i deleted all configs, got fresh one, input things as u said sorrow and put new config where it was supposed to go....

IT WORKED (somewhat)
Now i can bulk import , and apparently auto import,

But the stats look pretty jacked so i guess i can go read how to make them meaningful.

BUT also, when i do "auto import and HUD", seems to be auto importing, and little "main HUD window comes But theres no hud anywhere on table or anywhere

any idea why its no showing on table? ty- and cheers

We are now both stuck with the same problem, I have been here since mid December. I'm sure I'm quite close to having a working HUD.........

At the moment, your stats are "Correct", as far as i know it is only possible to see number of hands at a level and rake paid.

When the HUD is working you get VPIP and other stats, but in the software, at the moment, nothing of interest, maybe sorrow can explain why and when things might be different.

Ok - Stud, Razz player stats broke between 0.11.x and the 0.12-snapshot versions. It is fixed in my dev code, but that dev code introduces a bunch of new bugs (and completely breaks tournaments) but brings in alpha support for draw games.

All the stats calculation code is being completely re-written at the moment, and I haven't actually spent any time coding for the last couple of weeks.

I made a comment on this (with screen a page or two ago (note: i'm set at 50 posts per page)

Banzai - can you try removing the word 'mucked' from everywhere in the config file (take a copy first obv) the error message you posted shows that the hud died in that code.

Hans, back in my first responses to Banzai I put up a list of things that could fail and their individual tests - could you find that and run though it please?

I opened the HUD_config.xml file in Wordpad and deleted every instance of the work "mucked" and it appears to work (only played a few hands on a micro table). I will play at my normal stakes later and check it pulls in all the historical hands I have against other players.

So, is this problem related to Stud games? Hans plays Stud too and he seems in the same boat as me so hopefully this will work for him also.

BTW - I only play cash so buggered up tourneys is not a problem for me if it fixes the stats issues.
