PSA, I messed up with the stud replayer 'fix'. Stud hands don't import correctly in rc8. I'm working on a proper solution now and will release rc9 when I get it figured out.

This problem should not affect you if you only play flop (hold'em, omaha) or draw games.

Working good now thank you.

Thank you, all seems to be working now. What is the best way to import your old database to new version of fpdb, do you first have to revert the database into text file and then re-import with new version of fpdb?

Or can you do it just by recreating tables etc? In that case any instructions where you should save the new version of fpdb?

Recreating tables WIPES YOUR DATABASE. I thought I made that clear.

The only way you can realistically 'import your old database' is to have all the hand histories saved somewhere, and bulk import them again.

OK, I assume you mean there is no HUD? Are there any errors about that in the log file?

I solved it! I've got my Pokerstars language as Portuguese, changed it to English and it's working!

Not sure if this has been posted but on WPN the HUD does not work on multiple short stack tables (I'm thinking this is due to the name of the tables.) The HUD stays on one window and the boxes change from hand to hand. It works fine for multiple non short tables.

Yup, the HUD uses table names to figure out where to display. Do short stack tables have distinct names?

If you play on a supported site, yes.

On ACR, the standard tables are named, for example, as follows: "(PRR) Bahamut - 4"

whereas the short tables are named "(PRR) Bahamut (short) - 4."

Perhaps in the HH they are labeled differently..

I have now two fpdbs on my computer. One is the old one with a large database and other is the new one. When I try to dump database to a text file, it simply does nothing. Or could it be running somewhere on the background? In that case where does it save the text files?

When starting the newest version of fpdb, it highly suggests to recreate the tables. I can see the newer fpdb finds the old database but if I recreate the tables I suppose this database is lost, is it also lost in the older version of fpdb simultaneously?

As far as I can tell, it saves to a file called 'database-dump.sql', probably in the program directory. However, also as far as I can tell, you can't really do anything useful with it once you have it.

Yes, both versions of FPDB are looking at the same database. Probably bad things will happen if you recreate tables and try to run the old version.

If you want to keep your existing database around and point the old version of FPDB at it, then make a new database with the new version of FPDB, this is possible, but a bit fiddly.

What do you want to do here, and how badly do you want it?

Thank you for explaining.

I would like to keep my old database, statistics for hud and memory of eternal hot run.

At the same time I would like to have support for 5-card on Winamax and few other sites.

Well, the most robust solution would be to make a new database, and import all your old hands into it. However, if you don't have the old hand history files, you can't do that.

Unfortunately there's no easy way to migrate your old data into a new database otherwise. Which means you'd be running the old FPDB for non-5-card games, and the new one for 5-card, and it would be kind of awful.

To run on Chico/BOL is there an alternative to using BOL card catcher? I can't get it working.

Can someone that plays on BetOnline share their setup?

Found the old hand histories on my computer saved as text files and imported with the newest version of fpdb, everything went smoothly and reasonably fast.

Hud works on Pokerstars and also on Winamax. Just on Winamax the there are issues having the stats on right places. Does the new version of fpdb use the hud config file of the old version? Could be that changing favourite seats there makes hud work properly.

Also a bug report, occasionally when you right click on hud stats whole hud disappears and you have to restart auto-import to get it back.

Yes, they use the same config file, same database, all that stuff. By default. And yes, changing fav_seat may well fix your issue.

Hmm, this was a known bug in rc7 that should be fixed in rc8. I couldn't reproduce with some quick testing just now. Next time it happens, could you have a look at the HUD error log before you restart it?

I see no errors under "Hud Errors". In the Fpdb Log the last it said was something about siteIDfailed and referring to winamax_positioning.dat file. Fpdb closed when I tried to copy the entire line. At the time I was trying to move the stats to the right places manually.

Sometimes the positions are right on hud, sometimes not even after setting favourite seats. Sometimes when you restart fpdb during session the stats pop up on the right places. Mysterious. This is all 6-max. About the bug of hud stats disappearing, I noticed you don't have to even click them. Just hovering your mouse around for 2-3 seconds might do that.

Hmm, hovering would trigger a tooltip, does that work for you or maybe that's what is making it crash?

Again, could not reproduce here.
