Yep, bovada changed their HH format. Fortunately the hard-working ChazDazzle has already done the work to fix it here. It will take me a while to catch up on his repo, looks like he has been busy!

Hopefully I can find some time for FPDB in the next couple of weeks and push out a new release. Looks like Chaz has made some database changes so people might need to purge their DBs when they upgrade.

Thanks so much for taking the time. I'm a complete noob and i'm sure it's very simple but I can't seem to get his version working. There doesn't appear to be a "realeases" section so i downloaded the .zip from the main page. There was no .exe as in your release but i did find an install and run batch file under the packages\windows folder however they give errors when run.

"Windows cannot find "fpdb.exe"" in a pop up

and

"gdk-pixbuf-queryloader.exe" is not recognized in a command window.

I'm sure it's something stupid that I'm missing but any help would be appreciated.

Oh, all you're missing is that he doesn't publish executables. You'll have to wait for me unless someone else takes up the torch, I'm afraid.

Will this work with PokerMavens web based poker client (like the old SWC web based software)?

If it works, will it work for only importing hands or also for a HUD within the browser?

Hmm, it did work on old SWC software. Assuming the HH is the same from the browser client, import should work. I don't think HUD worked with the browser client. I might be mistaken, if it sets the browser window title appropriately.

Well, I wrote this a while back. Maybe you will find it helpful? There are some mac-specific notes but you can just ignore them if you are on windows.

Just configuring the HUD now, what stats do you recommend / think are the most useful?

I like to think I am quite good at making computers do things. I cheerfully admit that I am not good at poker.

I just installed using the Windows installer. Version 40.5. PostgresQL was already installed when it came in an install bundle with PT4.

I'm only attempting to play one cash table on the Grand Poker Network (Everleaf??) in order to get the HUD working, but it has failed to appear so far. I was reading the 'older HUD how to', and the 'hud_config.xml' file doesn't exist in my install folder and the configuration application file is a command prompt over my head.

I'm sure you're aware of the Bovada HH process - wait 24 hours until completion of sess, manually request HH files, they're then DL'd to the Bovada folder. Then, I did a bulk import upon installing FPDB without opening Bovada yet. If I get everything configured correctly, auto import and such, will FPDB make that cumbersome process obsolete due to auto import, or will I still have to manually request? If the answer is the latter, will I have to continually bulk import, or will they get picked up in auto import as long as I'm importing the right folder? Thank you

edit: my Bovada questions are probably dumb; I've been awake for too long and can't think straight. I tried logging onto Bovada and playing a few cash hands to see if the HUD problem was isolated to that one site, but it's not working for either site. I'm sure I skipped some really important step...

I did make a commit attempting to fix the HUD for Grand a while ago. Check out my release here and report back if it doesn't help.

The database time thing... ugh. Time is horrible and time in FPDB is something I try to avoid touching because it's horrible. You might be able to fix whatever problem you are describing by fiddling with the day_start parameter in the config file. There are some instructions at the top of that page on how to find and edit the config file.

I actually... don't know the answer off the top of my head. A quick peek into the code suggests that auto import will pick up files that were modified within the last 12 hours. So as long as you run FPDB and do an autoimport within 12 hours of downloading your HHs it should work, I think?

How do I update 40.5 to 41.07-rc7? I DL'd the zip file, clicked it and see all of the files. Should I just copy/replace? I don't wanna mess anything up.

You can leave your old install where it is and unzip my thing somewhere else, if you are worried. You might have to recreate your database or delete the config file and start over - some people have had trouble, but it's not supposed to be a problem.
