hi folks
I have a couple of issues, questions really.

1. How do I change the default directory that fpdb stores db's in ?

(it appears to be ..\users\..\appdata\roaming\fpdb\.. on my install)

2. What is the easiest/correct way to switch between different db's ?

(I can do this via "preferences". ie open one db, then change this in "prefs", I then have to "save" and exit since fpdb tells me changes can't be made because there is a window open.)
(using windows so I usually double click the fpdb icon, which loads the last db I had open. should I be running it from a command line and adding the db name there ? pretty sure I saw this option on the wiki .... )

thanks in advance

I've been trying to use fpdb for recording my 8game results on stars but somehow the software doesn't get my results for omaha hi/lo and razz. Is this an issue for anybody else? Is there a way to fix this?

Thank you

What's up guys, I have a question but I just want to verify the following:

This tracking software tracks ALL games, correct?

If that's the case, does it track play money as well? I want to learn a couple different games via play money SNG on stars. I would also like to track real money non-NLH/PLO games on Bovada as well. Can this be done with this software?

Hi I'm thinking of trying this for 6 card plo support - which would be the best version to use for a win8 setup? And how hard is it to a) install setup b) initialize to get to a point where happy with

And when software is updated how long does it take to get a stable update out there??

Thanks

2 questions.

Can I conditionally color code stats? How?

And how do I add prefix stat names to the hud?

not sure how to label but in order to add colors what i did was this

you have to go into your HUD_config.xml file in notepad and then find the hud you are using, the default holdem one seems to be "holdem_ring", then in that chunk of text there will be all the stats

for example if you take the steal stat which would look like this by default

<stat _rowcol="(3,2)" _stat_name="steal" click="" popup="default" tip=""/>

and you just want to insert this into it

hudcolor="#FFFF00" stat_hicolor="#00FF0C" stat_hith="25.3" stat_locolor="#FF0000" stat_loth="18.3"

in order to make it look like this

<stat _rowcol="(3,2)" _stat_name="steal" click="" popup="default" tip="" hudcolor="#FFFF00" stat_hicolor="#00FF0C" stat_hith="25.3" stat_locolor="#FF0000" stat_loth="18.3"/>

what that would do is if steal is 25.3 or higher it would turn to color 00FF0C,
if steal is 18.3 or lower it would be color FF0000, and if it was in between those numbers it would be FFFF00, and you can modify all those values and colors using hex value colors

this may be confusing as hell but i assure you once you figure it out its quite simple

Nope. There's some secret sauce to this that we don't quite understand.

Well, so far, so good.
I have made a HUD layout for 5-Card Draw that nearly does what I want.
It would be REALLY nice to have a pat frequency stat, but I think that I can get that by using a custom query in Excel.

I would also like to create an Excel custom report showing:
SessionStart, SessionEnd, Limit, net$, rake, hands

I thought that this would be easy, but I'm stumped.
The SessionID field in the hands table is null throughout -- how do I go about getting session stats into a spreadsheet?

Besides the Hands table, the sessionID field exists in CashCach and SessionCache, but those tables are (apparently) always empty.

Any hints on how to accomplish what I need?

Note: I'm not a python programmer (yet )

Cheers,

We don't track stand pats as a stat, and it's not possible to easily create a custom query for it in the fpdb application. If you wanted to track it manually, you could write a query for it. Should look something like this (for Draw One):

Code:
SELECT case when sum(b.street1StandPatChance) = 0 then -1 else 100.0*sum(a.street1StandPat)/sum(b.street1StandPatChance) end AS patfq1
FROM
(SELECT count(*) AS street1StandPat
FROM Hands H
INNER JOIN HandsActions HA ON (H.id = HA.handId)
INNER JOIN Gametypes G ON (H.gametypeId = G.id)
INNER JOIN Players P ON (P.id = HA.playerId)
INNER JOIN Actions A ON (HA.actionId = A.id)
WHERE G.base = 'draw'
AND P.name = '%PLAYERNAME%'
AND HA.street = 1
AND A.name = 'stands pat') as a
JOIN
(SELECT sum(street1Seen) AS street1StandPatChance
FROM Hands H
INNER JOIN HandsPlayers HP ON (H.id = HP.handId)
INNER JOIN Gametypes G ON (H.gametypeId = G.id)
INNER JOIN Players P ON (P.id = HP.playerId)
WHERE G.base = 'draw' AND P.name = '%PLAYERNAME%') as b

Clear your database, edit your config file so that cacheSessions="True" and then reimport and sessions will be available.

How I installed FPDB in Linux - step by step:

I'm using Xubuntu 13.10 (Ubuntu with XFCE) so I assume that this will work for Ubuntu with all variations, Mint, Debian, Crunchbang and similar apt-get 'nixes. In case you're using some old version make sure you have Python 2.7 installed which is not covered in these steps (mine is 2.7.5 out of the box).

OPEN TERMINAL
(now you should be in your home dir) and then ...

1) since you probably don't have, install Git:
Quote:
sudo apt-get install git-core
2) now we pull FPDB (it'll end in /home/your-linux-name/fpdb-chaz/):
3) install necessary Python libraries (this is one line):
Quote:
sudo apt-get install python-matplotlib python-matplotlib-data python-numpy python-wnck python-pypoker-eval python-imaging python-beautifulsoup
4) we need sql lite (I decided not to bother with mysql or postgre):
Quote:
sudo apt-get install sqlite
5) finally configure FPDB (copy example and make it main config):
Quote:
cp fpdb-chaz/pyfpdb/HUD_config.xml.example fpdb-chaz/pyfpdb/HUD_config.xml
6) In the end I've made desktop shortcut to main prog (/home/your-linux-name/fpdb-chaz/run_fpdb.py) but you can also run it from there.

And that's it. FPDB installed.

After you run it for the first time you'll select language and it's on.

After setting the proper HH path (Full Tilt installed under Wine) I've just played 6 card PLO with HUD and tracker and could see graph afterwards and I can now finally say:

Dear Micro$oft,
FU very much and have a nice day!

I made only the one change as described.
Following this, hands do not import at all -- neither bulk nor auto.

Changing the setting back to cacheSessions="False" permits importing in both modes.

Next step?

I've been having some difficulty getting this running.
Every time I configure my HUD under Hud stat settings it has to restart.
But I have to manually open the fpdb again and it dosent seem to save the settings previously set...
The only times I get the hud working the HUDs are not attaching to the table but floating off on another screen only showing the default 1x1 3bet stat and not the hud I built in the settings before saving and "restarting".

I saw in the FAQ section that the HUD window is not supposed to display the name of the game? There was no explanation of why this is a problem just stating that it is a problem.
I'm not looking to complain at all and happy for free software. I'm not a total newb using tracking software but this has been quite a bit harder for me so far compared to HM2 and holdem indicator.
Do I have to load the Auto import file every time I start it up? Do I have to configure the HUD every time I start? I only ask because nothing seems to be saving...
I know I'm missing something here please help thanks.
I'm running this on seals btw.

If you are playing holdem you will want to configure "holdem_ring" because thats the one it uses, if you configure a different one nothing will seem to have changed

after you do that you just restart like it says and you should see all the stats you choose when your hud comes up

you only have to configure it once

Can you double check the error logs for me (Help -> Log Messages -> fpdb.exe.log / Fpdb Errors)? This isn't a mode normally enabled in fpdb, but it's pretty well tested.

I deleted the entire %appdata$\fpdb folder and let fpdb recreate everything from scratch.
I then set my username for PokerStars only -- no other changes -- then changed cacheSessions, then imported a small HH file w/ 11 hands in it.

The importing window opens, the black band whizzes back and forth and stays that way until I kill the fpdb process.

The exact line of HUD_config.xml is now this:
<import cacheSessions="True" callFpdbHud="True" fastStoreHudCache="False" interval="5" publicDB="False" saveActions="True" sessionTimeout="30"/>

The fpdb-log.txt file contains 11 pairs of errors -- all with exactly the same time stamp, and all identical text.

The lines read:

found a glitch with seals

tables are named as numbers and if im on table #12 and table #1, the #1 stats popup on the #12 table

this cant be fixed just by moving them to the correct table, because they are linked to the wrong table and if you click on the correct table the stats will end up under it and you cant see them

Is there a way to make it so my own HUD stats reset every time I join a table (like it does in poker tracker)? Or at least after a small-ish number of hands?

Looks like there's an issue with doing sessions on sqlite. Try installing mysql or postgres and it should work.
