It's quite surprising that it works with 9max but not 6max. Did you save your 6max HUD layout after dragging things to the right places?

I'm an idiot. Didn't even know that option exists. I just thought the config was only way to change it since that what it says in the wiki.

Works fine now. Sorry for bothering you with my dumb questions

If it's HUD behind table, some people have had success setting FPDB + HUD to run as administrator.

1st class support as always, and bang on again, set both to automatically run as admin and bam done!

I'm at a loss about how to set this thing up. For example I can see folded cards for one stud game and not more than one but they are not of a hand in progress, and I try to use bulk import of previous hands but the button does nothing. I cannot figure out how to see any graphs or results either. Also the hud is not configured right because the names pop up at locations alternative to the players to which those names correspond.

Anyone have any tips about how best to configure this wonderful piece of software?

We will need a little more information than that to help you buddy, first off what operating system are you using, and which poker client are you trying to track?

I'm not a stud player but the principle I'm sure is mostly the same so I will help where I can.

When I had the same problem another trick works for me - run PS client NOT as admin.

FPDB relies on the hand histories to know about folded cards. Hand histories are only written after the hand completes. So you can't have that info during the hand.

As per your later post, I don't think you need to select all the hand history files - just the directory they are in. Try moving up one level and selecting the HH directory.

Do you have a preferred seat setting configured in pokerstars? If so, you will need to set up a corresponding fav_seat setting in your FPDB config.

If not, you probably just need to drag the HUD around till it's in the right spot and then save the layout.

A general note: Post your configs! The default seat locations and games are literally copied from the site above when they are added.

Post a 'corrected' config and Phil can include it as a default for the next release (we used to have a default config posted separately to releases at one point...)

In this instance, I did in fact direct our friend to a config someone posted previously. So posting it again seems unnecessary. :-) I will update the default config accordingly.

I have been working on an updated version of FPDB, available here. As part of this work I fixed the hand replayer to work for all supported games (I think - I suspect not many people have tried it with stud/draw games, but it should work for the most part).

Note that stud mucked cards don't work yet - I have a fix in the pipeline but haven't been bothered to release an update in a while. You should be able to continue running your old version of FPDB for HUD usage if this bothers you.

hi, great work so far!

badugi - replayer: works most of time, but sometimes it shows only one of the cards and the other three are not visible

and an other question: should the copy hand to clipboard work? i don´t get info about dealt hand and winning hand

If you can isolate one of the troublesome badugi hand histories and send it to me I can try to fix it.

Copy to clipboard: known issues. I made a start on fixing dealt hand just the other day, actually.

I've just installed FPDB for the first time but I can't see the HUD. I tried this solution but it didn't work. I'm on Windows 8.1 playing on PokerStars. I've messed around with the config, restarted my PC, reinstalled FPDB, but at no point did I spot a glimpse of the HUD, and there aren't any errors in the log file. The program runs fine, meaning it doesn't crash. Any suggestions?

This is what my PokerStars config looks like:

Have you configured pokerstars to save hand histories? In English?

I see that microgaming is not supported yet.

Given that the handhistories are saved in a sqlite3 db file this would probably require some additional parsing work but shouldn't take an extreme amount of time in python.

Is this assumption correct or do we know about additional problems that make support for microgaming problematic?

I am asking because I have some hours of free time this weekend and will probably have a try at implementing it myself.

I don't know anything about the microgaming format. Off the top of my head, I can think of at least one potential issue: FPDB uses regex matching to determine which site the hand history belongs to (and therefore which parser to use on it). You might need to look at IdentifySite.py, in particular the read_file and idSite methods. There's some special handling for .xls files there that you may be able to replicate in some way to support the microgaming format. Without knowing more I can only guess it won't be pretty.
