I've been working on my own tracker for a while but this is much further along, how can I get involved?

I want to uninstall. How do I do this.

How do I delete all files - and how do I see the hidden files to delete.

Once I have totally uninstalled I might try again.

This is really promising...although obviously most of the work still has to be done. One question: is it possible to reposition the stats in the HUD without editing the configfile, like in HM, by dragging the stat box to the place I want it to be? Another thing, when I right click that thing in the top left corner, in the context menu that pops up only "kill this hud" seems to work to others seem to do nothing? Am I missing something?

donkequity: just delete the folder you unzipped to

d12121d: if you can't drag the windows around by holding down left-mouse (or 'mouse button 1' if you hve them setup differently), then that is in the next release .. double-click on the stat window and it should turn on the title bar, so you can move it around, double click again to get rid of the title bar.

eleatic: i think i've managed to fix the window bug (although i did restore the function you restored, as well, so just in case ..) .. at least, i can't recreate it at will anymore. but, i'm having problems pushing to my repo right now.

This depends on how you want to get involved, which probably depend on your skills and experience. There is a page on the wiki with some suggestions on how to get started contributing.

You might also start hanging around on the #fpdb irc channel on freenode. Several of us are there a good bit of the time.

What about the hidden file where the hand histories are stored or something?
How do I find and delete that one?

fpdb makes no hidden files.

On linux there is a ~/.fpdb directory that has some stuff in it.

On Windows there is a C:\Documents and Settings\YOURNAME\Applications Data\fpdb\ dir that will have some stuff in it, including a handhistory subdir. The Applications Data directory is hidden by default in windows.

Sorry I haven't read the entire thread, but:

Can I just use your tracking for Omaha while still running PT3 or HEM for Hold em? And can anyone whose used this software compare it to PTO or whatever you software nerds call the omaha version of PT?

That should be no problem, unless you are playing Omaha and holdem at the same time. fpdb sees that and hand history file has changed and checks it out, regardless of the game played. So fpdb will try to import any new hand played while it is auto importing.

Currently, PTO is easier to install, more refined, has more overall capabilities, is exclusive to windows, closed source, costs money, and relies on the continued existence of its parent company for support. There are some aspects of fpdb that are better than PTO, and eventually, I expect it to surpass commercial versions. Overall, that hasn't happened as of today. Personally, I would recommend it, but depending on you, you may want to wait a bit.
