Why are there so many locked threads?!?!?!?! Why are there so many locked threads?!?!?!?!

Hi everyone,

You may have noticed this morning that there are a lot of locked threads. We are making some changes to the Commercial Software forum. In the words of administration:

Quote:
Periodically Two Plus Two management reviews the posts in certain forums to see if all our posting guidelines are followed. Recently, we have been looking at the Software Forum and have found that most of the posts/threads are simply too commercial and read too much like advertisements.
This is part of a PM that went out last week to all of the software developers that have threads in this forum. They were all given an option of continuing their thread in this forum at no charge with all links, screenshots, etc., removed. Basically, free threads will still be allowed if they are support threads only. Developers can post information about the software and links to their site in their profile and refer people there, but they won't be able to post these directly in the free threads.

There is also a paid option that allows developers to continue with their threads as they are.

The threads that are locked now are those from whom we received no reply. With all the threads that I've had to deal with, there's a chance that a couple could have been locked in error, and it's possible some developers didn't get the PM - please accept my apologies if either of these things happened to you.

Developers who want to discuss thread options for their existing thread, or for a new one, can PM me. If you're looking for support for a software product that currently has a locked thread, I'd suggest that you PM the developer and encourage them to contact me to discuss their options.
