Well what I'm saying is, "Refill grid" is supposed to eliminate all the gaps in the grid, so if I made the change, ALL gaps would be removed, in the way that I mentioned: After 3->2, then also 4->3, leaving 4 empty, and a nice neat grid (1,2,3 full)
Unless of course you had used 'keep in grid' on that table in slot 4, in which case it wouldn't move

If slots 2,3,4 are empty, and 5,6,7 occupied, then with your suggestion, all of those tables would move up into 2,3,4, again leaving no gaps in the grid
