Well I tried setting it up again with a new layout and using one of your preset skins and it seems to work. I've been using a custom site for a while. I'm going to try and figure out the difference in config.

Strange thing is that it does pop into the grid at the correct time using action required and always has done.

Just noticed a line bring_urgent_tables_to_top=0 in my layout file which doesn't exist in the new layout file even though I checked the activate table option.

Just tried removing it and it seems to have solved it! Must have been some line from an early version of SaT???

i wanted to check your config, incase you had one of these settings in there. that is actually a hidden option, its not documented anywhere. since you say that in the past you were using Stars to pop tables up, perhaps i gave you that option to put in your config to solve another problem. or maybe this option used to be exposed in the Adv Opts window, but i since removed it because i wanted it to be on by default and not allow ppl to mess with it

as for custom site, i always recommend people use the built-in sites unless they have a specific reason not to. but i also recommend people to "if it aint broke, don't fix it" so i guess i contradict myself here. heh

anyway, i'm glad you solved it.

Excellent. I use the custom site as I use hyper simple and play both zoom and regular tables and have found an exact point to detect for action which works for both type of tables.

A quick question if my may Greg.

Im trying this mainly to have one stack on my left monitor that takes care of all new tables and tables i have no current action on.

And then 4 tiled tables on the 2nd monitor that fill up as i have a decision to make and then they revert back into the left monitor stack.

I had a quick go with the following layouts.

Play Mode - stack and tile tables
Move to Grid - when action required
Grid - total slots 5
Slots - stack slot 1, new tables 1, old tables slot - grid

Everything seemed to work fine although some tables did not revert back into slot one ( left monitor ) after i had folded, but then maybe did after i folded the next hand on that table.

Was this because i only had about 6 tables open ?

Just wondering what i need to configure so a table auto moves back into the main stack as soon as ive folded without having to use a hotkey to do so.

only 6 tables shouldn't matter

as long as you have "Mouse Click Detection" turned on in Advanced Options, then this should work as you expect. it is on by default.

when you're not using hotkeys, SaT looks for the location of your click within a certain rectangle (the fold button) on the table. if the click is detected within that rectangle when action is required, then SaT assumes that you've clicked on the Fold button

i suppose some reasons why this could fail is if you were clicking a lot and maybe a bunch of clicks got backed up.

or, if SaT didn't think that action was required. this actually does happen on some sites, because when you hover your mouse over the fold button, the fold button highlights or shades or otherwise changes color slightly. if SaT picks up this color change, maybe it is thinking that action is no longer required

what site/theme are you using?

can you test that above? deliberately hover your mouse over the fold button before clicking, and see if it fails to move back to the stack. and then another time, try clicking Fold really fast before the button has a chance to change color

Im on Poker Stars using the Hyper Simple theme.

One other thing i did notice was when a table was say in slot 5, it sometime moved up to slot 3 when i folded and not back in to the stack.

PokerStars HyperSimple has some quirks when in use with SaT

given that theme, my guess is that the problem is due to you attempting to click Fold when it is not yet your turn to act. instead you are clicking the pre-action checkbox for Fold

likely you will notice that the tables are similarly moving out to grid BEFORE it is your turn to act. they are probably moving out as soon as the pre-action checkboxes are visible instead.

probably what is happening is that you click the Fold checkbox, the table moves back to the stack, and then the table immediately moves back into the grid, because SaT sees the checkbox still visible and thinks that action is stil required. this would explain moving up from slot 5 to slot 3.

keep in mind that SaT does not detect when you click the pre-action Fold checkbox to move the table back to the stack. if you are wanting this, then i would recommend using the "Fold+Stack" hotkey. but that would be a solution after you've decided what you want to do about Hyper Simple theme

Yeah, i just noticed that when i tick the fold box .. nothing happens, you have to wait until its your turn and fold then.

As you say, the table should not be there until its my turn to act.

if you want to continue using HyperSimple, you're gonna need to mod the graphics for the table so that either the Fold button or the pre-action checkbox is a different color. on the link i gave you previoiusly, you can find some instructions on how to do that from another 2p2er

otherwise, you'll probably need to use a different Stars theme to get this working better

tile --> i used the move mouse to active table, didnt work, so no use

stack and tile --> all tables were kept in stack whole time, it didnt move the tables to my grid of 2x2

when a new hand starts in the stack, it pops up for like a millisecond, then it goes to a table with action on me, this can lead to missclicks or other stupid stuff like fastfolding aces


so hugely disappointed, i also dont understand why there is a stack slot called "0", because it isnt used for anything? why put in things that confuse people?

is stack and tile function supposed to work without setting up hotkeys in the software?

ok, so the stack and tile requires me to set up hotkeys (external vpip hotkeys), this wasnt really mentioned anywhere

its a mess with zoom tables, because every time you fold, software reads the new hand as a new table. I disabled the notifications in advanced options, but the new tables need to be disabled completely in order for this to work for zoom!!

every time you get a new hand in zoom, the stack will change table for like half second and is really annoying, can you promise a fix for this? i mean zoom has been around for very long already

if you truly want help, tell me what you want to accomplish, and i will help you set it up. if there are bugs, then i need to know how to reproduce them before i can fix anything.

SaT was designed to minimize the downtime that exists in between folded hands so that those tables don't take up your attention or screenspace. Zoom/Rush tables by definition eliminate most of that, so i'm not sure what benefit SaT can provide a Zoom player. but it still should work with Zoom tables.

im telling you every time i fold on a zoom tables, the notification about new table pops up in bottom right, so you can imagine the spam this is causing, because i fold a lot

i then disabled this myself because it was a stupid feature, but the action still goes to that new table for half second


i tested the normal tables and they do not give the announcement about a new table every hand, confirming my report. This was a obvious error even before testing, but since you refuse to understand your software is broken

obviously i would like more customers. who wouldn't? but i want customers who appreciate the software and find value in it. from your first post, it seems like you've already concluded that the software is trash. so in that case i would prefer you not be a customer. i want people who are happy and satisfied, and i think most of my customers are. while i've taken no poll to verify this, just from a gut feeling i think that my current customers are quite happy, loyal, and grateful for having the software. since i'm not making much money on this, that becomes an important goal

what pokerstars theme are you using in SaT? are you using a custom site?

are you sure the popup notification is for a New Table? or is it for Action Required?

what did you disable? did you disable New Tables altogether or did you just disable the notification popup?

you mentioned you dont need to setup hotkeys for the software to move tables in grid (vpip), or remove them from grid (fold), but still if i use pokerstars client fold hotkey they will stay in grid, so i need to either manually click fold button or set up a fold key in the software

when using "Stack and Tile" mode, you have the option of moving tables out of the stack and into the grid in two ways: 1. when action is required, and 2. after you enter a pot (vpip)

for 1. no SaT hotkeys would be necessary, because tables should pop into the grid as soon as it is your turn to act

for 2. SaT can only detect when you've entered a pot by either your mouse clicks on the table, or if you use a SaT hotkey to call/bet. SaT cannot 'know' about external hotkeys such as TableNinja or builtin Stars hotkeys. so yeah, if you want to use hotkeys from those other programs, then you'll need to set up 'external vpip' hotkeys in SaT that correspond appropriately. but these aren't "required" in the sense that its the only way. mouse clicks should work fine as long as you have "mouse click detection" enabled in advanced options.

as for using the "fold" hotkey, its probably best to remove the Stars hotkey
and instead just use SaT's hotkey, that way you aren't doubling it up. most people use "Fold+Stack"

stack slot = 0 is only used for the "Tile" play mode preset. for a while, there was only "Stack And Tile" mode where you have one stack of tables piled on top of each other and then grid slots allowing only 1 table each. but some people requested a normal tile layout. so i had to eliminate the stack. using stack slot = 0 means that you will have no stack.

i feel like the software is pretty versatile, but with that comes the disadvantage of trying to make it user friendly. some people have told me that SaT is very easy to use and setup compared to something like PlaceMint. i have tried not to become this but its hard

the in-software tutorial was meant to help people get up and running quickly. also there was the quick start guide on the site

# of grid slots shouldn't matter, 2x2, 3x3, etc all can be configured using the Visualize Grid and the +/- slots buttons.

i usually recommend that people just stick with the basic Stack And Tile play mode, and Move To Grid setting = Action Required. with this, you need to ensure that tables are correctly moving out of the stack at the correct time. get used to this play style for a little and then tweak further. most problems are due to setting up the pokersites. everybody uses different themes and i wanted SaT to work with everything, thats why during the Include Site setup, i have that mini-wizard set up process

that said, with Zoom, tables will likely be detected as requiring action when the fast-fold button is visible rather than just the fold button. this might not be what you want. i admit i haven't extensively tested Zoom, so perhaps this can be changed with an update

i think i found the fix:

i noticed zoom does this: "table name - $02/$05", when you fold, the window title temporarely changes to "table name x" without the limit in title, when a new hand is dealt, the title again changes to "table name - $02/$05", so it treat it like a new table

i use the demo version, maybe purchased version ignores the limit scan

also: move to grid after entering pot, and action required has the same config variable (=preflop), not sure if this is right and intended

ah hah yes this is the problem.

initially i thought that maybe you were using a custom site and were looking for "Logged In as" in the titlebar of the table. Zoom tables also remove that text for a split second while the hand changes.

trial version should work fine for all tables, unless your trial is expired. in that case, SaT has to look for the stakes in the titlebar in order to determine whether or not to allow the table. unfortunately this is gonna be a problem for you. paid versions will also search for the limits to allow or disallow, but if it can't be found, then it will auto-allow. on trial expired 'free' version it will auto-deny

older versions of the software had the settings labelled differently in the config file. the newer setting is the "move_to_grid" setting

i did uninstall + delete all old configs + reinstall to new path like 1 day ago, so not sure why the config value is wrong

ok i will test the software on regular tables and see if i like it


i think people lose their mind if they use the demo version with zoom, and probably wont purchase it because the spam and disfunctionality (tables popping up and away like crazy), so maybe add this information to the FAQ, so people like me know that the problem is fixed in a purchased version if you want potential customers

maybe i'm still writing the value to the config file somewhere, not sure. but the 'move_to_grid' setting is the correct one
