Speak! Poker - use your Voice to control your Poker Software Speak! Poker - use your Voice to control your Poker Software

03-01-2011 , 06:03 AM
Use Speak!Poker to enjoy online poker like never before! Just Speak the words into your mike, and they are commands for your Poker Software:
- Say "Check", and the Check button is clicked.
- Say "Bet 2.5 blinds", and it's as if you typed 2.5 blinds in your Bet box.
- Say "Bet 70% of the pot", and it's as if you first calculated what 70% of the pot is, and then typed it in the Bet box.
- Say "Fold" and it's as if you clicked the Fold button, or checked the "Fold" or "Fold/Check" checkbox when you want to fold a hand.
- In addition to the regular commands, you can also add your own vocal shortcuts, like "steal" meaning, for instance, "bet 85% of the pot"

At this time, we support Full Tilt and PokerStars, but more Poker sites will be added soon. Also, we're currently in Beta, so we're giving you a FREE trial version for 30 days.

Try it out - it's quite addictive - http://speak-poker.com

Here's how easy you can play at 6 tables (http://speak-poker.com/tutorial.html#sixtables)

We look forward to your feedback!

Great idea. Out of curiosity, what software are you using for doing the voice recognition.

I'm using the Microsoft Speech Recognition that comes with Vista and Windows 7 (and is avaialble for download for Windows XP).

Contrary to what you may think, it's a quite good library

Nice. I've been loving Google voice actions, so I will check this out next time I play Rush poker. After a few hours of that I sometimes get wrist pains.....

Don't try it on Rush poker yet - sorry It does not yet recognize the "Quick Fold" button. However, rest assure - that should be implemented within 2-3 days - along with another nifty feature "tile", which will tile all tables, regardless of the Poker Software (Full Tilt or PokerStars), and "chat blabla" - which will type in the chat box what you're saying in the mike

And perhaps "last hand" too

John

this is absolutelly brilliant. I am having such a ball using it! great stuff.

only issues: How do you cancel a command (let's say you said "bet 250" and you want to change it to "bet 300")? and also a "click the timer" command would be handy
03-03-2011 , 09:31 AM
how is it affected by speaker sounds?
lets say i watch rounders on the side

Coolio! Glad you like it About changing the bet - simply say the bet again: for instance, after you say "bet 250", say "bet 300" - it will change the bet. Then, say "go" and it will press the Bet/Raise button.

John

That can be a problem. The best way is to plug in your phones as well - usually it filters out other sounds if they're not spoken close to the mike, but if someone near by yells "allin" you can get in trouble

awesome, let me know how it goes

Never thought about it until now - do you have extra buttons, such as PAT or stuff? Never played draw games online...

Yes you can - we have a feature called "Vocal Shortcuts", where for a certain text, you choose whatever shortcut you wish. Normally it's intended for betting patterns, but you can, for instance say "test" instead of "fold" or whatever else you may wish.
http://speak-poker.com/vocal_shortcuts.html

However, you should be careful picking words - they are meant to be english words, not some made up (like "meh"). Same goes for "vamos" - which might not be recognized
You should also make sure that the words are different enough from each other so that the speech recognition won't mistake one word for another.
http://speak-poker.com/words.html

Once you've chosen some words, you can simply test them out - by having all Poker software closed, open Speak! Poker, and say the words into the mike (this way, all the commands are ignored, because there are no Poker tables) - they should be recognized 100% of the time.

That being said, I have only tested it for English language - I'm planning to extend it to other languages in the near future (within a month or so) - so that instead of Allin, you might say "Aposto Todos"

John

1a. what size is the FT table (like, really big, or really small?)
1b. when you say "bet 50 % of the pot", does it correctly appear on the Speak! Poker window?
2. awesome find about "40" - it was a bug in my code. will later do a release today
3. to delete a vocal shortcut, simply go to the row that contains it, double click in the "Vocal Shortcut" cell and click Del, then double click on "Bet Type" cell and click Del. Then, click "Save".

The next release which I will release in a few hours might already fix 1., because I've improved recognizing where each button/control is - however, if this won't be the case, could you please contact me by email (then we can talk on skype or so), I will do my best to help.

1. ok - this is a known bug for FT (in other words, the "Pot" button is not found, for very large sizes) please try with the table size around half the screen vertically and horizontally. I will fix this, but not in this release (it's a bit hard to fix)
3. sure thing

awesome, look forward to your feedback!

John

New goodies in v1.2.21

1. Allow other themes as well. Right now, Classic and Racetrack for Full Tilt, and Classic, Black and Old Black for PokerStars
2. Implemented "deal me in" and "sit out" for PokerStars (used to work only for Full Tilt)
3. Works on Full Tilt Rush tables - saying "fold" will click the Quick Fold when present
4. You can now say "bet pot" and "bet half the pot" instead of "bet 100% of the pot", respectively "bet 50% of the pot"
5. "last hand" - clicks the Last Hand (Full Tilt) or Previous Hand (PokerStars)
6. "tile tables"

Tiles all of the tables. This is similar to the "Tile Windows" command from each FullTilt/PokerStars, only that it works with all tables from Full Tilt AND PokerStars at the same time.
Nifty features:
* It preserves the monitor the table was originally on (in case you have multiple monitors)
* It includes the "Last Hand" windows in the tile, so that when you say "Last Hand" it won't overlap with the existing tables
* Cares about the Speak! Poker windows - they will be placed on the right, on each monitor
* Ignores minimized windows (so, for instance, if you minimize the Speak! Poker windows, they won't show in the tile)
