Re: Coming Soon: PokerTracker 4

Having used both PT3 and HEM, I think that these are the few things they have which have an advantage over you (and therefore, I would really like in PT4):

1) 6max positional stats out of the box. early/middle/late/blinds isn't good enough imo.
2) Per-stat popups. Being able to break down a stat into position or see related detailed stats is awesome. The way the HEM hud functions out of the box is fantastic in this regard.

Other than those few requests, I think PT3 was already a better-made product. OS X support is another key for me as well. Hopefully, we'll have online poker back in the US soon, and PT4 on OS X will be part of that.

Re: Coming Soon: PokerTracker 4

1) Positions will be broken up more in PT4 - I can't give you the details yet, but I think you'll be happy.
2) Again full details haven't been released yet, but you can already split stats into groups and get a popup (or multiple popups) for each group. I'll make sure the development team are aware of your request, though.

A nice way for this to work would be for each group to have a default popup, but then each stat have a popup which could override the group. That seems like it would be a quick way to add whatever popups you need without lots of duplicated effort.

Making a separate group for each stat was really inconvenient in the old hud. Perhaps the better table alignment with the vector hud will eliminate the alignment problems caused by having more than 1 or 2 groups, but it would still be much nicer to have separate popups per stat.

“BatShadow - The feedback we have overwhelmingly received tells us that players prefer a single popup with the option of tabs over your recommendation of each stat in the table group earning its own popup.

Although we do not plan on implementing your precise recommendation in PT4, as WhiteRider advised above you can already create unique table groups in PT3 which can have their own popups per group. Its not exactly the same because you must position each table group independently but as you will soon see this is much easier to accomplish in PT4.

Will this version have support for tracking winnings/losses for all games played at Pokerstars?

PT4 will only support Holdem and Omaha to start. Support for other games may come eventually depending on demand.

thanks whiterider.
imo it should be easy to determine positions based on the last hand played.
i understand hud changing depending on the street you are own is tougher but imo it could be very useful.

The problem with that is that players can change between hands so the position may not be exactly what you'd expect purely from looking at the previous hand, and that could lead to misinterpreted information.

Exactly what sort of thing would you like to see?
Functionality isn't yet complete and the development team are considering all ideas and suggestions.

A mini-management feature where we can store various date like bank account, moneybookers/neteller account ecc, since most of us don't have the total monay available on a poker site.
Also we could track expenses and profit gain from coaching, something like that

Thanks - the development team are following this thread and all ideas are considered, but I can't say what will actually be included yet. Please keep the ideas coming - we really appreciate everyone's input.

Obv no need to make a complex management feature... I think this feature was asked several times (maybe in HM thread?) but nobody listen...

Will it be possible to switch between big blinds/100 and big bets/100 in graphs and stats?

I can't say for sure yet, but that option has been discussed by the development team - I don't yet know whether it will be included, though.

dynamic hud statistics whose values are based on position. IE. if the button moves and a players position is now 2 off button then the 3bet percentage will be his 3bet percentage from 2off the button.

This is a good idea but it has some flaws in the execution, it has been proposed earlier in the thread but we didn't get the chance to discuss it in detail.

The problem with stats that are adjusted by position at the table HUD level is that it requires a tremendous sample size. We discussed this idea this past week with a panel of some of the best online poker minds over dinner, the general consensus was that it might be too confusing for the end user and in turn cause them to make a costly mistake. For example say you were 20 tabling and were 3 bet by someone who had a low 3Bet percentage from button but actually has a very high 3Bet percentage from the CO and MP (meaning the villain frequently flats on the button by is a very very heavy 3-better to isolate from other positions). If the 3bet percentage was virtually zero on the button you would receive the correct 3Bet positional stat - however it would not tell you the complete story about the opponent's play - hence using the popup which shows all prior 3Bets broken down by position is the best option. In PT3 as well as in PT4 we can already show the 3 bet percentage based on position in the popups, using this method is far less likely to mistakenly influence the wrong decision - which would be very costly.

Its an idea we will continue to think about nonetheless...

Bizarre

Why not give us an OPTION to display positional hud stats? Then we CHOOSE what we want to display.

TT, I really dont believe you want to argue that PT4 users cannot be trusted with positional stats, and so its better not to even give them the option of having them............

Of course some positional stats will be useful. No decent player can deny this/
