I would like to know if it is possible to filter stats from the current tournament blind level for specific players only (the ones I have a lot of hand on).

For example, when I play a STT with 2 regs(1k+ hands) and 6 randoms (0 hands). So my question is: Is it possible to filter stats from the current tournament blind level only for the 2 regs? Otherwise I have no hud stat's for the 6 randoms, because I have 0 hands with em.

Unfortunately that isn't possible to do at this point in time.

If that doesn't help then please report your problem so that we can investigate further.
The update worked.

Thanks

where in the user's guide does it have a definition of each statistic. I am specifically interested in what that call preflop % statistic's formula is. What I saw in the user guide was the section on creating custom statistics...

the HUD does not seem to be working for the Merge. I then tried to exit the program and come back in to see if that would fix the problem & now there is a new problem.
When the program boots up, it starts me at a screen that says "Configure PostSQL Database." It seems like it was wanting to create this new database, PT3_2011_01_02_145758. I then clicked on Browse database to select what I thought that it was already using. Why is it wanting to create a new database?

Check out the Statistical Reference Guide for stat definitions - you can also look at exactly what forumlas are used for every stat via the PT3 menu Configure > Configure Stats.

That normally indicates that the PostgreSQL service couldn't be started.
Please check our Firewall Guide as that is often a cause of problems with starting PostgreSQL.

If that doesn't help click Start --> Run, type in "services.msc" (without the quotes) and hit enter. Locate the PostgreSQL service and attempt to start it. If it fails to start, click Start --> Control Panel --> Administrative Tools --> Event Viewer and click on Application in the top left pane. Look for an error in the top middle pane relating to PostgreSQL. Double click it to bring up the error message and paste or type it into a Support ticket and that will give us more detail as to what's keeping PostgreSQL from running.

Sorry if this has been addressed...

I've used previous versions of PT and just now purchased 3.06. Is there a way for the tourney summaries to automatically be imported? Do I have to go into Poker Stars after every tourney, ask for the summaries of missing tourneys to be emailed, and then import from the email into PT?

There must be a better way by now, right?

I'm having an issue with my hours played stat. Often, if I play a 45 minute session (or any length, 45m being the average) and return within one hour, PT3 will consider my session to be continuous even though it is not. I close all tables and usually exit stars after doing this-I don't use the "sit out" option. Example: I average 1700 hands per hour, play for 200h, and log 340,000 hands. PT3 will report me as playing anywhere from 160-180 hours, depending on the lengths of my breaks. Sometimes, this doesn't happen, but it usually does. A minor inconvenience, but I would like to know my actual hourly.

Is there any way to avoid having PT3 include breaks in my hours played?

3.06 is a little old now - if you update to 3.09 you can configure PT3 to import from the tournament summary folder (or configure Stars to save summaries to the same folder as hand histories) and they should import fine.

The cutoff is 30 minutes I think, and this is not currently configurable but I will remind the development team about this request.

Re: tourney summaries. Great.

I just added the folder with the stars tourney summaries (C:\Program Files\PokerStars\TournSummary\) to my auto import list in the Stars config window.

That should work, right?

Do you know if Stars puts a summary for the tourney in as soon as you bust? Or not till the end of the tourney?

Thank you for the quick response! I will start taking 30 minute breaks for now.

Yes.

They write them as soon as you bust. You may not be logged in when the tournament ends. If you want full results you will need to wait until the tournament has ended and then request the summary by email from the Stars lobby.

How do I run a report for marked hands?
thx
01-04-2011 , 04:40 PM
How do I set up the HUD/PT3 so it remembers that I want to treat the table as 2 max?

I can do it manually in every single hu sng match by clicking the PT3 icon when HUD comes up, but that sucks to be done again and again? I tried to set it and save the current layout via the respective option, but it is still not remembered.

If you enable the 'Adjust Qualifying Tables Limits' option on the Auto Import > Preferences then your tables should be recognized as 2-max at import time and the HUD should use the correct profile.

I just installed a new hard drive into my desktop and loaded a new operating system (Windows 7).

I still have my old hard drive in my computer as well. It has all of my Poker Tracker 3 DBs and my HUD settings etc.

How do I transfer all of my DBs and HUD settings etc to the new Poker Tracker that I downloaded and installed on the new hard drive (Windows 7 OS)?

Which files do I need to copy and which folder do I need to paste them into?

Thanks.

If you're still able to run your old operating system and your old install of PT3 then the easiest thing to do is use that to make a Backup of your databases and settings, and then install PT3 and restore the backup onto your new operating system.

If not then you should be able to transfer your databases across (see the Database / PostgreSQL FAQ for links about moving databases between locations), but if you have the original hand history files (in thePokerTracker 3\Processed folder by default) then you will probably find it easier to re-import those.
You can copy your settings files across from the old install - see PT3 backup files]this post[/url].

Hi guys, I found a decent All-in-one desktop I was thinking of getting

Dell Inspiron One 2205

However I noticed this on the tracker faqs

Quote:
The single most important hardware for PokerTracker 3's speed is your hard drive. We suggest that you are using a at least a 7200RPM hard drive.
The HD speed on this dell is only 5400rpm. Would this make running tracker an issue?

Soz, computer noob here.
01-05-2011 , 12:58 PM
For a large database it could, yes. You really need at least a 7200rpm hard drive for good performance from large databases. Some users have reported trying 10k rpm and SSD (solid state drives) and getting significant performance improvements over standard 7200 rpm drives, but this tends to be people with very large databases. For "normal" use 7200 is fine, and for lighter use you may find 5400 is OK, but I wouldn't recommend it.

I am not able to run the old operating system (Vista) on the old hard drive which is where the old version of PT3 and all of my DBs are located.

However, the hard drive is connected and accessible on my computer.

What I want to do is transfer all of my DBs from this drive (I cannot open PT3 on this drive to make backups and restore etc) to my new hard drive that has Windows 7.

I have already installed PT3 on the new hard drive. I want my DBs on this hard drive and linked to this version of PT3.

I will then reformat the old hard drive and wipe it clean.

Please point me to a process that can transfer my DBs. I have read the FAQs and tutorials but none of them seems applicable to transferring a DB from a drive that cannot open PT3.

I'm using the trial version 3.08.1

My question is as follows-
I have the same screenname on both Stars and Merge Network

how do I consolidate both accounts, so when I look up stats it shows for both sites?
For instance, as it is now, I have a graph and all my stats for my stars account, and a seperate graph/stats for my merge account

I set up a trial awhile back for a friend, and I specifically remember his Bodog and Stars accounts showed as one.

What am I missing?

nevermind, found it
tab General/Alias

I have been playing on RPM lately (Merge Network) and I have not had SNG's or Tournaments register properly in PT3...

Bounty Tournaments, wins or losses do not seem to register.

VIP Point Sng's show winnings / Losses in Dollars rather than points... ie... buy in 225 points shows as $225.00 in PT3, winnings show in Dollars as well, win 800 points shows up as $800 dollars! (I WISH!)

Okay just wondering how long does it take to rebuild cache on my PT3 database?

I imported 1000k hands (which I think I should have done 100k in bunches as opposed to all in one hit =S) but so far the rebuild cache has run for 17hrs and I have no idea how much longer it will take.. Anyone have an idea?

Relevant specs are:

Dual Core
200gig free on hard drive

Any help appreciated.

Cheers

I replied to your duplicate post on the PT3 forum.

This is fixed in the latest version – v3.09.

are and I wouldn't expect it to take too much longer now, but it is very specific to each system. The limiting factor is hard disk access speed, so if you have a slow hard disk or using other applications which access the disk too (e.g. playing music or videos, or downloading from the Internet) then it could take longer.

FWIW if you import in 100 K batches the hands may import slightly faster, but you should still only run housekeeping once after they have all imported – running it after each import would take much longer overall.
