Re: New Software: PokerEV (Tracker + Coming HUD)
I kinda like it and kinda don't with the tabs.
1) If I want to look at something specific I get something specific.
but
2) If I want to look at two things at once, what happens if they are split

Would it be possible to get somekind of break-even fold equity display for the replayer? So you could analyze draw shoving situations against different stack sizes and villain's range.

This should be fairly easy with the the web services features of .Net 2.0.

I think it'd take at least a week to implement this properly and there'll be all kinds of security concerns with poker clients and whatnot running at the same time. I'd probably write something like this for myself but not in a commercial app for now.

You should think about looking into dockpanel suite and using it as your UI.

I started out with docking and it soon turned into a usability nightmare as complexity increased, even for someone used to docking. Most people just aren't familiar with advanced docking and the application will feel unfriendly if I go that way. I'm going to reduce clutter in other ways and have some features that make viewing mutiple items easier.

I'll see what I can do.

Any screen-sharing app, like TeamViewer, would be sufficient for this, I think.

Re: New Software: PokerEV (Tracker + Coming HUD)
hi phil
will it be possible to use PokerEV to filter stats based on flop "types" (inc number of flop high cards/ number of flop connected cards/ highest card on flop/ flop tone etc), and create stats specifically for certain flop types?
thanks

Download.com has crossloop ( a freeware) as one of 2007's best downloads, i gave it a try, kinda liked it. Remote acces etc... but i havent tried any other programs so there might be better ones out there.

When do you think is the public beta available, I mean I know you can't give an exact date but do you think rather a few days or few weeks or at the end of the month etc.

Re: New Software: PokerEV (Tracker + Coming HUD)
Hi Phil, I have to say I am very impressed with what it looks like you have done so far. I have one question. You stated that we would be able to add support for new sites using your standardized hand parser. Will the HUD work with those sites as well? Also, if we have a hand history converter that converts an unsupported site's HH's to, say, a Pokerstars format that is supported natively by PokerEV, will the HUD work for that site? Thanks!

Yes, that's all doable.

Less than a few weeks, likely more than a few days. Either way I'll release something to play with this weekend if the whole thing isn't done. All the screenshots are functional (the importing speed has gone up as well with a few tweaks) and it's just a matter of getting everything to where I'm happy with the average user trying it out.

The way the HUD config files are set out, it's possible to tweak some values and get it working on any site, but with the smaller sites there's usually site specific problems that get in the way. The HUD doesn't run off the database during play - that's the main reason there could be problems.

About stat creation...
I just thought of this last night: will it be possible to create a HUD stat that shows the % of time villain showed down a set (or boat or quads), while holding a pocket pair? I believe this could come in handy against set miners.

Re: New Software: PokerEV (Tracker + Coming HUD)
I haven't read the whole thread but the one question I have is whether I will be able to see how good or bad I am running with any reasonable accuracy, excluding all ins which are obviously easy to calculate. The whole sklansky bux system was obviously very rough in determining how lucky you are all around, I'm wondering if there will be a reasonably accurate graph as to how much you should be making compared to what you are making?

Re: New Software: PokerEV (Tracker + Coming HUD)
It's impossible to determine what you should have made because it depends on game type, opponent styles, what they were dealt, and so on. You can use things like all-in calcs to cut out some of the variance but a decent part can't be quantified.
That said, PokerEV is built around EV analysis and there's a few extra features at beta and more just before it goes on sale.

Re: New Software: PokerEV (Tracker + Coming HUD)
Id just like to see one of the setometer metrics expanded. Something that shows how often TT+ runs into JJ+ and how often AK runs into KK/AA
