Also I have added Ongame format support which I cannot recognize currently, but I can see people are already using successfully which looks like this:

It is also supported, but I wonder what kind of format is that, ie where is it coming from? PT3?

A popular feature request has been completed. You can now save any new payout or blind structures to use in future.

You can also completely recreate whole set of payouts and blinds if it doesn't suit your poker specific poker site, like I hear ongame doesn't for many players.

You can add structures to default profile from main ICMIZER window using new save buttons as can bee seen here

If you wish to create a completely new set of structures and not just extend default lists you need to go to options tab and use "structure profile" management elements which are highlighted on this screenshot:

A more detailed version of this change and how to create new profile is added to ICMIZER changelog.

More updates are coming so stay tuned!

Why the result in ICMIZER is slightly different when compared to wiz?

www.pokericmcalculator.com/icmizer/#YXWz

For example in the above hand A3o computed in ICMIZER is 0 EV Diff% but in wiz it is -0.11 EV Diff%.
10-28-2011 , 03:26 PM
Because SngWiz is making a constant mistake in calculations by entirely ignoring possible tie results between players.

If you click (i) button against BTN player for this hand you see calculations info, it is stating:

Hero Win: 36.4504% EV: 25.52%
Hero Ties: 12.565% EV: 16.99%
Hero Lose: 50.9846% EV: 6.74%

As you can see there is a 12.6% chance for tie in current situation, against opponent range with A3o. Any kind of Tie is good for us in SNG, because we don't bust and take half of pot. Sng Wizard is completely ignoring ties, so it mistakenly calculates that calling is more -EV than it actually is.

In its results you will only see probabilities for hero to Lose and to Win, no Tie % is available there.

I dedicated a big part of initial post to highlight this difference, but generally speaking Ties happen all the time when you are considering calling a push, and ignoring them is a calculation mistake which in many cases produces noticeable difference, and in some rare cases makes a huge difference (samples with AA and KK in first post).

Ive only just started getting into SNG's and have not really delved into ICM calculations yet.

But after reading this ... im really confused how anyone would consider folding AK against a CO shove when 4 handed on the button.

I understand his pushing range of 22.5% and we are 62% favourite against that range .. so how is this a fold ? .. I mean, we are only crushed by AA and KK ..

I would have thought someone's pushing range by be a little wider than 22.5% when he has a 1500 stack size and the blinds are 100/200.

As i say .. im just a noob starting out in SNG's

Hey Jos. Examples I have provided happen to look more academical than real game situations.

You can never put opponent on single hand push AA for example. Examples were designed to show difference it makes to take ties into account for a single hand, and to highlight presense of mistake in other software.

Since SNG cosists of many hands such mistake adds up. 0.2% of prize pool mistake here * 5 times (for example) and you got a 1% of prize pool mistake. 1% Of prize pool is a healthy ROI in most tough games.

As for your question - it always depends on your opponent hand range. If you hold AK but you know that he has a very thin and strong range you gotta fold even though AK looks pretty.

Because if you call against tight guy expected value of such action is less than folding, and you should be choosing most +EV actions ( and least -EV) when given choice.

I guess my better examples would have been various BvB spots where we are pushed into , no overcalls can occur, and against wide shoving range we can often tie and get much better EV with most hands than wizard suggests.

Thanks for the reply Q.. , appreciate it.

I have released a pretty major update this time.

Although its mostly UI update and bug fix update.

Here is how calculation results look now:

EV is now displayed for each possible hand, not just single hand.

Also charts are not on additional page but instead aside of inputs, which makes it easier to relate to chart.

Ranges are now visually represented, instead of text which despite being verbose isn't telling much when ranges are >15% or so. This is a required change in order to get to HeroFold mode and 3 way allins.

Copy & paste buttons allow rapid ranges input at times.
If you hover over range representation it will be displayed as tooltip.

Notice that options button is now in Site menu instead of Application button.

PS: the bad news is that there appears to be some bug for guest users which I am currently figuring out which occures only in guest mode. Authorization error is popping up when it really shouldnt for some users I am told. If you experience this all I can recommend is to register currently. Ill try to hunt it down asap.
PPS: hand ev chart appears to be not refreshing sometimes, will fix that tomorrow.

Next updates will finally get some really useful features and awaited features.

Hope you like how it looks now,
Q

really love the update!
copy HH from HEM supported, YAY! \o/

But still not taking overcalls into account? :\
11-04-2011 , 08:01 PM
Thanks!

yes actually still not.
Needed those range representations and more space to provide space for all the controls to input those ranges actually. Working on herofold mode now, once hero fold is done results should be already much much better and useful.

Fixed all issues I found and mentioned in last post, everything should be correctly refreshed/displayed when situation is changed.

This is awesome.

Is there a way to have the stacks in BBs rather than in chips? Thus allowing you to find a point where at x BBs you can call, rather than at x chips. Hopefully that makes some sense?
11-09-2011 , 02:06 PM
Thanks hennerz!

Everything is possible (well maybe not literally) but I am not sure that I can say that such feature will get a high priority since there are many higher prioritized features on the list right now.

Could you elaborate use case of such feature which you have in mind? IE parse hand and translate display as blinds? Or just input manually in blinds?
11-11-2011 , 12:05 AM
Wanted to say I love your program, much better then Wiz
11-15-2011 , 12:16 PM
Thanks!

are the stack sizes determined before blinds and ante are posted ?
11-15-2011 , 12:36 PM
You are welcome

Could you elaborate the question? I am not sure I understand which situation it is applied to.
11-16-2011 , 01:32 PM
Q,

We spoke via email about adding Merge hands. Is there any update on this?

Overall I love the program. Thanks for all of your great work.

Hand histories from merge and overcalls and this would be perfect IMO.

Yeah we did speak and I havent forgotten.

I am currently working on hero fold mode though cause it will greatly improve ICMIZER, and adding Merge support will only slightly improve( I hope you understand me here) and requested a pack of Merge hands on STT boards, I believe you will not have to wait too long for both features.

Ill post about update once its added here and via email as promised (and in http://www.pokericmcalculator.com/en-us/changelog/on site like I do )

PS: if you give me Merge hands in format like :

Quote:

but for Merge, I believe I should be able to add support for that in just a couple of days
11-16-2011 , 02:36 PM
Yes I understand. It actually isn't a huge concern of mine as I think there is a positive effect that results from imputing the information yourself. It makes you understand the situation a little more in depth and helps me internalize the the results better. I think when using integrated sngwiz it can get almost auto-pilot like where you aren't internalizing thus not learning anything from your study sessions.

With that said I will email you some more hand histories tonight. Just text format via holdem manager is ok?

Thanks.
11-16-2011 , 02:49 PM
I got XML formats now from TomoDaK, but they are pretty unique and will need more time.
HM formats are probably similar to ongame/ipoker and adding support for those will be easy.

Nah lack of ability to autoimport hands can't be viewed as positive thing I believe. My resources are limited though and I cannot do everything immediately
11-16-2011 , 04:46 PM
What about calc overcalls? (2 other ppl all in and u have to call)
11-16-2011 , 05:32 PM
Will be added after hero fold. Hero fold will get results to a whole new level though immediately and that should happen pretty soon according to my schedule.

3 way situations and overcalls will take some time after that. Although like braminc says in this thread somewhere, overcalls do happen pretty rare, and correctly calculated two way spots (including correctly calculating 2 way spots after hero fold) will produce far better results than wizards. (not for clear 3 way spots though of course, like BB being auto allin)

looks really good so far. is this just a 1-man project?
11-19-2011 , 08:38 AM
Thanks Internet. For the most part so far it is. I am getting some help here and there though.

Really nice piece of software. Thanks for your effort.

One question: Does it take card removal into account?
