Not before July 15th but you could always export your Poker Office hand histories (I think you can anyways) and then HM will import them no problem.

Thi software looks great. I have a question and a couple suggestions. First, how is the performance compared to PT?

Now, for the suggestions. I think having the ability to add rakeback/bonuses/B&M sessions would be nice. It wouldn't have to be anything too fancy. Like, even a separate tab which was just a blank spreadsheet would be nice. Right now, I use PT to keep track of my online play and a spreadsheet to keep track of everything else, but I think it'd be really nice to be able to keep all of my poker income in one place, ie. like your software.

I would also like the ability to filter imported hands. I don't know, I've always wanted this ability so that I can remove hands with too few players when importing datamined hands. It's not necessary though, but it would be convenient.
I don't know if my question/suggestion got looked over, but I'll repeat it just in case.

Re: New Software: Holdem Manager

Dazareth,

Here are the answers to your questions - I already responded earlier but they were lumped in with a bunch of other sutff so you must have missed it:

1) Performance can't even be compared between the two. It is written in C# 2.0, everything is multi threaded, I have ripped apart and redesigned the entire database many times to ensure performance is good with insanely large DB's etc.

2) You'll see an Income tab that is exactly that. It combines cash results with Tourney Winnings, Rakeback, Bonuses, manual entry of live games etc

3) Don't worry about filtering the import based on # players - just import everything and then filter later if you need to. You don't have to worry about huge DB's any more. Also, if the game suddenly goes to 3 handed you'll be happy that the HUD starts weighing the sample of hands with 3 players higher giving you more accurate data to work with.

Re: New Software: Holdem Manager

Hello,

the software sounds very great. I'm shure, I will test the program.

Will it be possible to start the program with german or other regional settings, or need the programm also like Pt the regional settings "United States"? It would beb grat, if the program would also run with german regional settings.

Also it would be nice, if it is possible to select an other languages in the program. Maybe, that the users can ad a new language with a language file, similarly as with the xml-documents for the reports. That isn't very important, but it would be nice.

This is actually pretty big point. When you use PT with German regional settings everything gets screwed up because Germans use a dd/mm/yyyy format for the dates. As an avid poker player I run my computers with US regional settings but it sure is annoying if you need your computer for other tasks that rely on correct regional settings.

With Tourney Manager I was able to force the application to run with "USA" regional settings while still allowing you to do everything else with your default regional settings. I am going to try and do the same here although you will need to be patient because dealing with various regional settings is a pain and I'm not 100% sure how PostgreSQL is going to handle this...

Private beta will be happening almost immediately after the public beta launch of the Manager on the 15th. If you want to get invited to use the private beta then just provide lots of feedback / suggestions / bugs on my forums. I plan on letting the people who get involved have first crack at it.

Initially it will only be Party, Full Tilt and Stars but once things are under control I'll be rolling out new sites very quickly. I have received lots of HH's from a whole bunch of sites so I'll be ready to have at it.

I expect the HUD public beta for the 3 listed sites to happen by the end of July.

Re: New Software: Holdem Manager

I noticed the Tourney Manager has a feature that compares the win rates based on SNG buy-in and multi-table ratio.

Could you have an option to display $/hr when playing 4 tables of NL200 versus 8 tables of NL100, etc?

Thanks.

This would be a great idea. Add hourly RB to that, too, please!

Re: New Software: Holdem Manager

Software looks great. I look forward to its release.

One feature I am interested in is the ability to run the HUD over a local network. Ideally I'd like to have my database reside on a server that can then be accessed by the HUD from any PC/laptop on the network. In other words, I don't need the DB on every PC, I can just run the HUD on my laptop and point it to the DB on a shared drive on the server in a user-friendly, non-technical manner.

Will this feature be included?

Re: New Software: Holdem Manager

this tool looks very very promising, i really look forward to test it!

here is another feature, which, IMO, would be usefull to add:
a handconverter (mabye combined with the replayer) for posting in different forums and for copy and paste into a word document, including the player-stats.

Re: New Software: Holdem Manager

Roy, any chance you could put in a flag if a hand went all-in HU and on what street? And a flag who the caller and who the bettor was?

Also filtering hands for pot sizes (like > 80 BB or something like that)?

this is soo awesome.

is there a way to HUD stats of 3 betting from different respective positions for raise/3bettor, and against certain player types?

Here are some more answers:

This can definately be done and will find its way into the "Income" tab although not before public beta.

Quote:

In the configuration file you setup a Connection String to the database so running multiple computers off of a single database through a LAN should not be a problem at all. Potentially you could use this same database when you are on the road but that would take some network / firewall setup.

Quote:

I'm working with a well known hand converter site to have auto posting of hands into the converter with your defaults auto selected (ie output = 2p2). The replayer and converter might not be ready for beta launch but hopefully shortly afterwards.

both are in there

Quote:

Yes - you can also filter hands by # BB's you bet, called or Total Amount Put in (Bet + Call + Post) at any street as well as total pot sizes in BBs.

In the Manager you can run filters based on where the original raise came from who it was and also who the 3 bettor was. I also will be letting you filter by certain players doing certain things (ie was heads up vs players xyz) or certain types of players (ie 3 bet a "TAG" who raised in early position). However, in the HUD you can;t have this much detail unless you add notes... You will probably want to analyze the regulars offline and prepare notes based on the new array of stats. In the HUD you do have reraise vs Steal and then just a regular 3 Bet or Squeeze % which basically gives you the response to a raise that is coming from early or late position. You can also see each players 3 Bet number from every position (SB/BB/Early/Middle/CO/Button) if you wanted to but normally you'd combine them into Early+Middle, Cutoff+Button, Blinds to make the data more useful.

Rvg, do you have 64-bit Vista users among the beta tester group? I'm going to be so sad if every other 2+2er is having fun with your app and I can't run it.

Re: New Software: Holdem Manager

Hi Dazareth,

I don't think any of my alpha testers are using Vista 64 bit so make sure you download the app right on the 15th and let me know if you see any problems. I don't realy expect any since it's all .NET 2.0 and as long as you download the right version of the framework and postgresql etc then it should work good.

Oh, don't worry, I'll be downloading the app ASAP. If you need a Vista 64-bit tester, let me know. I'd be happy to help. I'm a CS major as well, so I think the background would help.

Re: New Software: Holdem Manager

If you keep half of what you promise, you will sell well to the hardcore statfreaks here. I wonder if this will be enough to topple the PT empire (don't get me wrong, I love PT and Pat).

Most of the PT users use maybe 10% of the functionality of PT ("ZOMG, I'm up 150$ over 1500 hands!").
With the things you are going to put in this rate will probably drop to 1.5%

Dave, is there a really good reason why this shouldn't work? I've only been using PostgreSQL for a few months (I'm a SQL Server guy) but it should be ok, right? I wrap everything in transactions which should help as well. Let me know if there are some "gotchas" I need to be aware of!

I think (or at least I hope ) that the way I've built the app especially with the extendable Report functionality and the really easy layout will allow even the "Look how much I made today" people start to go much deeper with their analysis. Of course if you just want to look at your basic stats, run an occassional report, grab a fish list for your buddy list, see a pretty graph and have a kick butt HUD then HM is for you too! But.. the richness of the data in the program is meant to allow good thinking players to dramatically step up their game. Trust me, it would have been much easier to create something that just filled a hole over what was currently out there and I actually had that about 6 months ago!

9 days to go! The private beta guys should be getting a beta release candidate in the next 3 days or so but I'm not accepting any more private beta testers at the moment.

Thanks for the support guys, I think you'll like it
