Never seen that bug before... Does this happen frequently? Did it just start happening?

Re: New Software: Holdem Manager (Version 1.05: 06-Apr-2008)

www.rvgsoftware.com/hm/hmtestupdate.exe

1.05.01 with iPoker fix. Please note, the preflop cards tab is not complete yet but you will get the graphical display.

* (1.05.01 NEW) multi way preflop all-ins are now calculated
* (1.05.01 NEW) double clicking on a selected filter in the "More Filters" tab will delete it instead of having to click it and press Delete
* (1.05.01 NEW) adding player was not raised on flop / turn / river filters in More Filters
* (1.05.01 NEW) completely rewrote the preflop cards tab to show a visual representation and some quick filters (more quick filters, added hands view and non-showed down cards coming)
* (1.05.01 BUG) fixed issue with some full tilt hands that were played on a Mac and then imported into HM - problem was related to line feed characters
* (1.05.01 BUG) fixed issue with some bodog tournies not being imported
* (1.05.01 SITE) made change to deal with client changes from some ipoker sites

Do the hands need to be reimported for the multiway all in calcs to get done correctly? Also, from your previous comment, I use pokerstars exclusively, so thats not a concern. In fact, my numbers are actually pretty close to pokerev, I just thought of the rake issue that maybe neither program accounted for.

EDIT: My EV stayed the same after I updated, so I do have to reimport Im guessing?

Hi, I will re-release the all-in EV tool I wrote that will quickly recalculate your EV. Will do this later tonight hopefully.

The difference between PEV and HM is most likely due to the way it is calculated. PEV I believe uses equity * amount put it on the street you went all-in on while I use equity * total pot available to you when you went all-in.

Could you also insert a kind of "set-o-meter"-tab, where i can see things like KK vs AA, hit set on flop, set over set, overpair vs set, etc?

for me the files were stil processed and moved to a seperate folder, so I had to reimport all hands since the update from that folder.

these would be great little funtions and also thanks roy for keeping up with HM so diligently. I for one greatly appreciate your hard work! Who needs that other crummy tracker any more

Re: New Software: Holdem Manager (Version 1.05: 06-Apr-2008)

Roy,

Any idea what causes the "Failed to establish a connection to 127.0.0.1" error.

I have just encountered a recurrence of this error and it is very frustrating. A quick skim of the HM forum shows that this seems to pop-up again and again.

I had this before. No matter what I tried I could not get the postgres service to start. Eventually I deleted all trace of postgres and started again. It has been running happily for the last 3 weeks or so.

I have just installed a new soundcard (could be total coincidence) and I get the "Failed to..." thing again. The service is set to automatic start but is unable to start. When I try to force start it just hangs.

Any ideas to get Holdem Manager working again on my PC will be gratefully received.

Cheers

This type of thing can be done but I have a bunch of really important things to get done before I can look at something like this since it probably would take a while to do properly.

Move the hand history files then use import file and it should pick up any that were skipped

When somethign like this happens it is generally 1 of 2 things. Either the user that is running the service no longer has priveleges (go into control panel - admin - services and find postgres and then go into properties and make sure it is set to login as admin) OR you have firewall / anti virus /Komodo like software that is blocking postgres.

Check your Control Panel - Admin - Event Viewer - and look under applications. You should see an error for postgres. Open it. If it says something like "invalid postmaster.pid" then find this file in program files\postgres\8.x\data and delete it then start again.
