Make sure windows is fully updated until 'No New Important Updates are Found' (this may require multiple restarts and multiple 'check for updates'), including Internet Explorer (even if you use a different web browser).

Sometimes the .net framework installation can become corrupt. This can cause several problems including freezes on startup, registration issues, crashes and more. A filter option like "which players VPIP / saw flop" would be nice.

Any idea for a solution?
I have a feeling it is not possible but will check with the QA/Testing Manager when he is online next and PM you whatever we find out about it.

Really getting tired of connection problems with PostgreSQL Database while running it on Windows 10. It seems like its working fine for a week or two and than all of a sudden it cant connect anymore. How can I get rid of that once and for all. Tried all that mentioned here http://hm2faq.holdemmanager.com/ques...tgreSQL+#steps and it is not working. In the past I was able to get it going by just adding some files and folders to the windows defender exceptions but it seems that this does not cut it anymore. What can I do to solve this once and for all.

Update: It is working now...I just deleted all HM2 and PostgreSQL from Windows Defender List and added them again...did that ten minutes ago as well and it did not work...did nothing else in between. Its really annoying...dont wanna have to spend an hour on solving this every 1-2 weeks.

Which Operating System, Firewall, PSQL version and AntiVirus are you using? Windows 10, and some AV software, cause all sorts of issues with PSQL.

There are a number of definitions included for the free version of NC and it is enabled by default. Does it help if you try disabling Note Caddy? Open HUD Settings, make sure you are on the HUD Designer tab, and uncheck "Show Caddy notes in HUD." Restart HM2.

Windows 10, Windows Defender and PSQL 8.4.20. NO additional Anti Virus Software. I usually use Avira but I deinstalled it maybe 6 weeks ago cause of the problems and I read somewhere that Avira may cause the connection problems.

Some people using the same configurations have psql connections every time they update windows. I don't know what is causing it but many other customers with the same setup have no issues. I have psql 9.3 (and 9.5) installed with my Win 10 + Defender system and have never had a connection issue that I can recall. I wish I had more to share on the topic but at this point it appears to be a Win 10 + PSQL issue so there isn't much we can do on our end until one of our testers possibly has the same issue or a customer with the issues reports back on what, if anything, solved it for him. The only thing I can suggest, which is less than ideal obviously, is to disable auto windows updates and do them manually once or twice per month on a day that you don't plan to play poker in case you have connection issues.

Out of nowhere, I literally did nothing to my PC and just started it up as usual, HM2 being the first app I opened. I'm getting this. How can I fix it?
Setup Wizard:
Connect to PostgresSQL Database
The PostgresSQL service is not running. Click "Start Service" to try to start the service.

I do but it just says "attempting start the PostgresSQL service..." to no avail.
Here is whats in the boxes.

This is usually a firewall or windows update issue and the following guide gives a step by step guide.

If you continue to have problems, please reproduce the problem and zip/attach your HM2Logs folder with a detailed description of what you were doing and what problems you were experiencing.

How did you create a new database if you couldn't connect to postgresql? Did you reinstall postgresql to fix the connection? If so, yes your old database is disconnected and you will need to manually import your original hands from the archive. All original hands that are auto-imported get moved to an archive for performance reasons. Your \HM2Archive is in C:\HM2Archive by default, but you may have put it anywhere. The archive should be organized by \Month\DayOfMonth (example: D:\HM2Archive\2009\07\31) or if it was auto-imported with 7283+ it would be in \HM2Archive\SiteName\YYYY\MM\DD.

Otherwise you would have to try reinstalling the same version the old database used manually and point to the old \data_previous folder to reconnect it. I can give you instructions for that if you want to try.

This is why regular backups are a good idea. If your database becomes corrupt/disconnected you can restore a backup and only have to import the most recent hands (that were played after the backup was created) and edit any tournament results if necessary. I recommend keeping at least the most recent 2 or 3 backups in case the most recent one does not restore properly you can try the previous backup. Here is a FAQ explaining how to backup your database and all settings in one easy step.

I used your link to Postgres downloads, and downloaded the new version. I followed the Wizard, hit create new, then hit finish. Next time I opened up HM2 it was a new database, everything else gone. But now everything is lagging, I don't know if that is related or not.

I'm nervous to reinstall the old version and go thru this all again. I think I will just start from scratch with the new database, the old one had 300k hands, and HUD stats were outdated on regulars anyways.

But I am concerned if this new database is whats causing this lag. Also during this process I updated windows 10.
Any ideas?

It is really impossible to say what might be causing lag without seeing a log file to start and I don't want paste a wall of text of general lag suggestions here that may not be relevant.

You could start with these 2 FAQs:
- http://hm2faq.holdemmanager.com/ques...tgreSQL+Tuning

If you continue to have problems, please reproduce the problem and zip/attach your HM2Logs folder with a detailed description of what you were doing and what problems you were experiencing.

Yes, if you are playing the OSS (or any other special series or one off tournament).

If it is a standard tournament that runs daily/weekly we need to see logs:

Please enable the Settings > Feature Logging > [x] 'HUDStats' and 'FastPoker' option and increase the Max number of log files option to 10 so old logs are saved with date/time stamps. You can also enable this before you launch HM2 from the Start Menu.

Please reproduce the problem and:
- Attach a screen shot of the table/desktop
- Try to include the Active Sessions tab and/or Sessions Report that also includes your windows clock and poker client lobby clock in the screen shot
- Save a copy of the original Hand history for the table with the issue
- Close HM2 and attach your HM2Logs folder with a detailed description of what you were doing and what problems you were experiencing.

With all the above information we should be able to narrow down what is causing the issue. If all the information is not included we will need to email you again to request it.

Hi Fozzy,

I've recently experienced crashes with HEM2 ; It never happened before...
I have SSD / i7, am on W7.
It also crashes by itself (not running the Hud or anything)...
The DB is rather large (300K hands roughly, 2Gigs) ...
Should I start a new DB ?
If so, what's the most effecient way to do so (given I'd like to keep my configs and last 50K hands at least....)

Thanks in advance !

I can't say what is causing the crash or best course of action without seeing a log file after it happens. A 300k hand DB should not be the cause of your problems. Many of our customers play without crashes using multi-million hand databases and similar specs.

If you continue to have problems, please reproduce the problem and zip/attach your HM2Logs folder with a detailed description of what you were doing and what problems you were experiencing.

To create a new database and import your last X months of hands see this FAQ.

Tried filtering my database for non all in hands using the advanced options with the options "made all in bet" and "faced all in bet" in false setting but I still get an all in ev line.

I would expect there to not be an all in EV if I didnt see or faced an all in bet?

It's probably picking up hands where you bet and one of the remaining players has a shorter stack, or you face a bet and you call it then someone after you calls with short stack. You wouldn't face an allin bet here either.

Try and narrow down some of the hands that show EV Diff in the reports and see if they match any of the above scenarios.

All you can do for now is manually find/replace to edit them so they can be manually imported - http://forums.holdemmanager.com/bug-...-work-hm2.html

This issue has been documented in detail and provided to the developers to resolve.

The assigned internal issue # on this issue is HM-8823

If you want to be notified when it is fixed please send an email via the 'Contact Support' link and include "Notify Me When HM-8823 Is Resolved" in the subject line and body of the email.

Any tournament with more than 1 table (and some single table games) will require a separate Tournament Summary/History file to be imported for HM2 to properly calculate the size, places, and prizes. Without this information it is impossible for HM2 to work out the correct results. The only sites that currently write these summary files that we support right now is Pokerstars, Full Tilt, and Pacific. If your site does not write summaries, or you experience any discrepancies with the results, you will need to manually edit the results via the Reports > Tournament > Tournaments > right-click > edit - http://hm2faq.holdemmanager.com/ques...rnament+Editor

If you continue to have problems please zip and email the problem hand histories, with a link to this thread and your forum name, to us using the 'Contact Support' link and include a full screen shot of the entire HM2 window.

All original hands that are auto-imported get moved to an archive for performance reasons. Your \HM2Archive is in C:\HM2Archive by default, but you may have put it anywhere. The archive should be organized by \Month\DayOfMonth e.g C:\HM2Archive\2009\07\31 or if it was auto-imported with v7283+ it would be in C:\HM2Archive\SiteName\YYYY\MM\DD.

When sending any files please zip them (right-click > send to > compressed folder) before attaching them to an email. If the attachment is larger than 10MB please upload them to a file hosting site like dropbox, then 'copy public link' and paste the download link directly into the support ticket email.
The graph is my cash games report with winnings in dollars. As someone who plays mid stakes having a 100k+ spike is clearly an error.

I'm playing on a number of sites. Ipoker/Stars/888/Winamax/Party mainly. The link you've given me seems to be broken and I have no idea how to edit these results. Will I need to do a manual edit every time I play a MTT on one of these sites?

I bought another computer and installed HEM2 on it. It's up and running, I reset my profiles so it will work on the new computer, which made it so it didn't work on my old computer.

That is all fine and good, but as a result I can't navigate into HEM2 on the old computer. Before I bought my new computer, I backed up my entire database as well as saved the settings or whatever. Now, I don't know how to find them. I don't really want to have to reset the profiles again to access it. The backup database should be a HUGE file, how can I find it so I can save it on a flash drive to import to my new computer HEM2.

The link in your quote works fine for me - http://hm2faq.holdemmanager.com/ques...rnament+Editor

Here is a screen shot of the page if you still can't open the link for some reason.

The Stars and Party hands should get recorded properly if the site is writing those tournament summary files and HM2 is importing them. If not, please send the hand history and tournament summary files. The other sits you listed do not write summary files so it is impossible for us to know the MTT results.
