Re: Holdem Manager Support

HEM2 is a total peice of **** and I sincerely mean that.

Using HEM1, how do I get this to work for the site "poker4you"? Also I am having a weird problem with poker encore... I select "store hand histories locally" but it does not record the hands. Run as administrator? I have no idea what's wrong. This happened a day after I installed HEM1 and was forced to make hidden files visible for hem to find the poker encore file...

I believe this is fixed in our latest internal build. I was just testing a 'new stars vpp' stat bug and had added it to my Overall report. I closed and restarted HM2 and the stat was still where I left it.

1.11.03 is very old.

Please update to the latest version - http://www.holdemmanager.com/Downloads/HmUpdate.exe

is there a way I can manually delete old files without losing hands or does it really need that much space?
There is no reason for the HM folder to take that much space. What files are taking up all that space? During an import some of the temp/work files can take a lot of space but after the import is finished that folder shouldnt be bigger than a few 100mb.

Try using windirstat to help find what is taking the space - windirstat.info

Logging:

I would suggest you turn off logging on your SQL installation.

To turn off logging, follow these instructions. This is the first thing I do anytime I install SQL for someone. HM1 and HM2 installers disable logging during installation now.

- Start > My Computer > Tools > Folder Options > View > UnCheck 'Hide Extensions for known file types' > OK

- C:\Program Files\PostgreSQL\data\postgresql.conf > Right-Click > Open With.. > NotePad > Check 'Always use this program'

- Scroll about half way down to ~Lines 245 - 260:

- The last line of this block of code, for the 'logging_collector', must be changed from On to Off.

HTML Code:
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
# ERROR REPORTING AND LOGGING
#------------------------------------------------------------------------------

# - Where to Log -

log_destination = 'stderr' # Valid values are combinations of
                    # stderr, csvlog, syslog and eventlog,
                    # depending on platform. csvlog
                    # requires logging_collector to be on.

# This is used when logging to stderr:
logging_collector = off # Enable capturing of stderr and csvlog

File > Save; File > Close

Start > Programs > PostgreSQL 8.3 > Reload Configuration.

- Start > My Computer > C:\Program Files\PostgreSQL\data\pg_log, or C:\Program Files (x86)\PostgreSQL\data\pg_log, if you have 64 bit Vista. Delete all files in that folder. And it might be a good idea to empty your recycle bin at that point, or use a 3rd party utility like CCleaner to clean up all your junk/temporary files.

Re: Holdem Manager Support

Please answer honestly :

When (if ever) are you guys going to make HEM2 bug-free/usable ?

I find it really frustrating that HEM2 is crashing and bugging and freezing all the time. It is seriously not usable. And I know that I'm not the only one saying this, as 95% of HEM users are still using HEM1 instead of HEM2 and yet you don't sell HEM1/OM1 Licenses anymore.

I will actually be paying and using for PT3 Omaha instead of Omaha Manager because you refuse to sell OM1 licenses, and OM2 is not usable. You are actually loosing customers here.

Anyone had any luck running HM2 on a Mac with Parallels for Windows? I've tried and it has numerous problems.

Re: Holdem Manager Support

Does the small stakes version only work on 2 limits or is it UP TO the limits?

Sorry to hear your having issues, i know it can be a pain when you just want to play poker. What network is that on? Unfortunately unless the hands are writing then nothing will work in HM2, i can assure you enabling hidden files and folders would not have caused the issue. I would suggest reinstalling the poker software and if the issues still persist contact their support.

Once you get the hand histories writing then let us know if you still have issues with HM and well be glad to help

Hi, i would like to follow up with you personally and try and resolve these issues, we just made a breakthrough on some performance issues and i would like to get you a build to try out and see if it solves your problems.

I wouldnt waste your time if i didnt think we could solve these issues quickly but i tested the internal build with the fixes last night and i could 15 table on a crap 2gb laptop like it was a super computer so the improvements was pretty huge. I dont want to jump the gun as we havent had a ton of internal testing with this new version but im very hopeful it will solve your issue. The issues your having may also be due to the crash and id like to take a look at your logs to see whats causing that.

I can understand if you simply dont have the time to spend troubleshooting so if you still want to proceed with the refund please pm me and ill help you get it processed quickly and i sincerely apologize for the problems you had.

As suggested i stopped server, but when I start server I get a message saying the service could not be started and no error was reported, however a few lines down it says the start command returned an error <2>

noting again this problem has occured since I updated...
