HM1 and HM2 will both work with Win8 but PSQL can be difficult to install some times.

See this thread for some info about Win 8 - http://forums.holdemmanager.com/gene...ade-guide.html

- Please see these steps to fix postgresql installation issues:

- Please update windows fully. Please keep checking until it shows twice five minutes apart that there are no more updates.

If you have Win7 or 8 (or Vista), consider the following:
1) PC name must be in English and ïn one word"- requires reboot after changing.
2) The same for Windows user name. If not - create new Win user with EN name and reboot PC for this user when install Postgres. And he must have admin rights. After installation you can kill this new user - his mission is completed.
3) Secondary logon service must be set to Äutostart".
This is a standard windows service which is available on every windows computer. In the latest versions it is not started automatically. You need to start it via control panel > administrative tools > services.
4) UAC = OFF ( How to Disable and Turn Off UAC in Windows 7 « My Digital Life )
5) Disable firewall and antivirus when installing Postgres and HM. Or uninstall them at all.
6) All installations must run äs admin"(by right-click on file). And do them as first thing after PC reboot.
7) If you want to change install path for Postgres (or to set non-default folder for database cluster) - download "standalone"installation file from Download PostgreSQL | EnterpriseDB
8) If your Windows is not in English - you have to install Postgres not in default folder in Program_Files. Create new (example: c:\postgresql) first and select it when install.
9) Install Postgres and HM separarelly, one after one. As admin. If HM (when runs for the 1st time) says "no database"- simply create it via DBControlpanel.
10) If Postgres install fails - after uninstalling don't forget to kill windows user named "postgres":
Go to Start > Programs > Accessories > Command Prompt > Right-Click > Run As Administrator
In the window that appears please type the following and press enter:
net user postgres /del
exactly as shown. You should get a confirmation if it was successful.
11) Run all pokerclients äs admin"too.

- Please update your network adapter. Open device manager and find the model #. Search google for the model # drivers to download.

- Please run the windows repair on your winsock:

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/811259

If you are using Mcafee, Norton, Comodo or AVG for security, they have been causing a lot of issues with postgres lately. We recommend using a different program, such as Microsoft's firewall and Microsoft Security Essential. If you do feel that you need Comodo or AVG, uninstall first, install postgres, then reinstall after it is working. See this guide for Windows Firewall:

http://hm2faq.holdemmanager.com/ques...ender+Problems

Download from http://www.enterprisedb.com/products...wnload#windows - do not use 9.1 or 9.3.

Right click the setup file, click properties. Click the unblock button at the bottom.

Empty the c:\temp and/or c:\Users\Username\AppData\Local\Temp folders.

If there is still an issue, we need to know the error - it is in the temp folder - bitrockinstaller.txt file.

I installed HEM2 tonight for the first time on a new computer... and then played 4 heads up SNG's on Americas Card Room.

The first opponent I beat, and he immediately left.

The 2nd opponent I beat 3 times in a row, and we rematched each time.

I then opened HEM2 and pointed the hand importer to the ACR directory on my C: and it seems to have imported all the hands played.

Problems:

It only shows me having played two tournaments. It shows the first guys entire tournament no problem, but then it combines all three of the next tournaments into a single tournament against player 2.

Problem #2: It shows me as losing "both" tournaments (in reality four tourneys played but 3 combined into one as stated above). So obviously it doesn't recognize that I am the player.

What am I doing wrong?

Hi, I'm using HM1 and I have a visualization problem when I have a villain with 100+ hands.
When I move the cursor above a desired stat (villain has less than 99 hands), it shows the % of times he did it, and the total of opportunities he had.
x% (number of opportunities)
But when he has over 100 hands, I can only see the % of times, but not the total of opportunities.
I believe this is merely a font issue, but I'm not sure how to fix it.

Please zip and email the problem hand histories, with a link to this thread and your forum name, to hm2support@holdemmanager.com

All original hands that are auto-imported get moved to an archive for performance reasons. Your \HM2Archive is in C:\HM2Archive by default, but you may have put it anywhere. The archive should be organized by \Month\DayOfMonth (example: D:\HM2Archive\2009\07\31) or if it was auto-imported with 7283+ it would be in \HM2Archive\SiteName\YYYY\DD\MM.

This is by design. Once the sample size hits 100 it is removed from the popup to save space.

Merge recently changed the names/formats of a lot of their tournaments so we have to update our tournament detection engine. This is a very big project as we need to check the majority of the different games so we need help from the customers to send us hand histories and pics of the tourney lobbies showing the proper prize distribution.

Please zip and email the problem hand histories, with a link to this thread and your forum name, to hm2support@holdemmanager.com with screen shots of the tournament lobbies or a detailed description of the proper prize distribution.

The previously assigned internal ticket # on this issue is HM-5893: Merge Buyin for non standard tourneys / table names / guarantees

If you want to be notified when it is fixed please send an email to support@holdemmanager.com and include "Notify Me When HM-5893 Is Resolved" in the subject line and body of the email.
Bump.

I paid for HM2 with the understanding that Merge SNGs would be supported.

Hello [enter name],

Thank you for your email.

This is a known issue and it has been documented in detail and provided to the developers to resolve. While I don't have a specific date for when this issue will be resolved, we are putting out updates regularly.

The previously assigned internal ticket # on this issue is 5893. We will often release builds on a limited basis, only in the forums for a few days first, so please check back in this forum http://forums.holdemmanager.com/hm2-releases/ for that ticket #.

This is either a postgresql issue or database corruption.

Please download the same version of postgresql that you have now from http://www.enterprisedb.com/products...wnload#windows. Uninstall yours, and install this update.

Please create a new database.

1) Click the database name in the bottom right corner (2nd in)

2) Click the green + sign

3) Name it, click ok.

4) Import the hands from c:\hm2archive

These changes will be available in the next gold beta release. While we do not have an exact date for the release, you will receive a prompt to update once available as long as you have enabled the Settings > Updates > [x] Prompt for Beta Updates.

Understood. I would like to point out that it has been 7 weeks. Eventually I will ask for a refund if support is going to be this slow, since I haven't and wont be using the product when it is not importing correctly.

On America's card room I play the beast / BBJ tables ... and I have 27% rakeback.

In HM2, if I set myself with 27% rakeback, is that showing me the rakeback earned on only the actual rake, or is it factoring in everything that goes into the beast and BBJ also?

Also, how do I differentiate in HM2 whether my rakeback site pays me on the "Contributed" method or "Dealt" method?

Also does HM2 not work on WPN for tournaments at all? It seems completely broken. Tracks chips instead of actual winnings and losses...

I added your comments to the ticket in hopes that it gets things moving quicker with the developers and testers on this issue.

I have never played any BBJ tables yet to be able to confirm with my own hands but I assume it acts the same that Boss, Merge, and 88/Pacific does in that it is NOT counted towards rake. We have an open ticket for this issue:

HM-5146
Bad Beat JackPot Contribution not Counted towards Rake

Please zip and email a sample of BBJ hand histories, with a link to this thread and your forum name, to hm2support@holdemmanager.com and we can test them and them to the ticket with your email address so you can be notified if/when we improve on this behavior.

There are a variety of tournament issues at WPN in regards to their results/winnings that have been discovered since our initial WPN support release.

To see if the issue you are reporting is already a known issue and covered by one of our existing tickets:

+1, please call the pt4 people, it took them one day to figure out how to track the merge tourneys, I have tried the free trial of it, and it tracks the tourneys quite nicely, there are a few things I like better in hem2, however, 7weeks and we are told it is a lot of programing work to track the merge tourneys? We are actually in the middle of a redesign of the Filters and HUD Settings windows to make them more efficient. I am not sure if a resizeable filters menu is part of the plan but I will discuss it with the developer in charge of this to see if it is possible to add as part of this project.

You can easily move the HM1 \HMArchive or HM2 \HM2Archive folders that store the original hand histories. The amount of space used by these folders is fairly small compared to the amount of space used by the postgresql database and parent folder but it is definitely a good idea to store the original hands on a drive separate from Windows. If windows dies and you have to reformat the original hands will be safe from the reformat process and can be easily imported to recreate your database after installing windows.

Simply copy/move the folder to it's new location and then edit the archive path in the Hand Importing > Auto Import Folders menu by highlighting each path one by one > clicking the Edit Folder button and editing the Archive Folder: path.

If you also want to move the postgresql database and parent folder to a different partition it is possible but it is a bit tricky/complicated so do so only at your own risk and make sure you create a backup of the database before attempting it. Note: If your Windows operating system is installed on a SSD then I do not recommend moving the database and parent folder to a standard HDD.

I apologize for the delay and agree it has been taking too long. The Merge update came at a bad time because we were still deep in the process of working on the FTP Rush issues and some other projects, and then we got hit with another FTP update last week that completely broke the Rush HUD that we had just finished fixing from their previous update. Our testers have all the information the developers need now and I have increased the priority of that ticket and added your comments to the ticket so the developers can better understand how important this issue is.

If you want to be notified when it is fixed please send an email to support@holdemmanager.com and include "Notify Me When HM-5893 Is Resolved" in the subject line and body of the email.

We changed the way some stats were calculated to make them more accurate based on feedback from customers. This is the new industry standard for how VPIP/PFR should be calculated and all of our competitors calculate them the same way now AFAIK. See this FAQ for a detailed explanation. Here is an excerpt:

Q: Why do some players have higher PFR than VPIP?
A: First of all, this only happens in games where you face a lot of all in situation (e.g. Shortstack games, tournaments). If you dont face all-ins, PFR will never be higher than VPIP.

Here is an example of how PFR changed:
Situation 1: (without all-ins)
You played 10 hands, called once and raised 2 times.

Previously:
That made your VPIP 30 (3 out of 10 times), PFR 20 (2 out of 10 times)

Now:
Exactly same as before, VPIP 30 (3 out of 10), PFR 20 (2 out of 10)

Situation2:
You play 10 hands, call once, raise 2 times (same as before), but you also face 4 all-ins)

Previously:
VPIP 30 (3 out of 10 times),
PFR 20 (2 out of 10 times)

Now:
VPIP 30 (3 out of 10 timeS)
PFR 33 (2 out of 6 times, you couldnt raise when facing 4 all-ins)

Q: Why is this good?
A: The new % is the more accurate representation of player's range in games with a lot of all-ins. Think of it this way: are you more likely to raise all-in, or call an all-in? For a lot of players, it holds true that they raise a much bigger % of their hands than what they call with and that's why you will see their PFR being higher than VPIP.

Hi
The HUD does not work on rush tables on Full Tilt even though I've done everything in the guide, I've done both programs to administrator and added the files in McAfee (but not dll files because they were not among the files that was able to choose from the McAfee list, there were only exe files to choose) the graph and everything else works, but the HUD does not really work.
