Re: New Software: Holdem Manager

is anyone else finding that the .65 version still gives the expired beta notice?

weirdly, the patch i am trying to install claims to have been created 29th Nov, so i'm wondering if the download link on the website is correct?

I have been using the HUD now for some time and all I can say is AWESOME.

It works quite well and yes there are a cpl of bugs but for most part, very steady. So steady that I have quit using pokerace/pokertracker. Here is an example of why holdemmanager is just better IMO.

I have a remote computer with postgre installed and I log in remoted using pokerace/pokertracker. Now, if while I am datamining the remote computer reboots, then pokerace/pokertracker give these error messages and everything has to be restarted. This is so annoying. With holdemmanager, it just polls the connection and when the remote computer is back online, it works. Also, the import speed for holdemmanager is BLAZING.

I personally like the tabbed layout of holdemmanager. Office 2007 is designed the same way and it has the modern look to it. Overall, it is very very slick and the ability to filter/view stats on everything is amazing. Can't go wrong with this piece of software.

cheers

Re: New Software: Holdem Manager

When I have around 70-80 tables open during an import, the import process is painfully slow for the active tables. Is this normal?

The speed is very fast (over 100hands/s) for inactive files for closed tables.

Re: New Software: Holdem Manager

2 things

1. your system is the bottleneck with that many tables open

2. I have 3 active tables open and I get 256/s

Sweet. Always a pita when I turn off my db computer while PT is still running (makes me feel kindof stupid as well).

The problem is that it is importing every 5 seconds and recalculating HUD stats each time a file changes. So, change the import duration to like 20 seconds or longer (change it in the holdemanager.config file) and I'll need to add an option to not calculate HUD stats when hero is not playing.

Sounds good, waiting eagerly.

Can you also add an option to not calculate HUD stats at all?

Re: New Software: Holdem Manager

I am running Vista Home Premium and have .net and postgre installed.

I installed HM and the patch and when I ran the shortcut HM crashed. I ran from the HM folder as administrator with the same problem. I uninstalled HM and ran without the patches, same issue.

I disabled UAC and repeated the above and got the same results.

I can connect to the database control panel manually. The start HM button is grayed out on the control panel and I am still not able to start HM by any other method.

Anyone have any ideas what I'm missing?

Thanks

Re: New Software: Holdem Manager

I still have this flickering problem with HM + Party and did some further testing.
Everything seems OK when I use HM and FUll Tilt.
But when I run Party, open up 12 tables and click arround a bit all Poker tables seem to flicker wildly. It seems like HM somehow boosts Partys CPU usage.
I went on and closed PT, PAHUD, all AHK scripts, other Apps and still had this flickering thing.
My machine is decent.

Anyone else? Is this a known problem?

Re: New Software: Holdem Manager

I just downloaded HM last night and loaded some HH's into it. Everything worked fine for about 20 min. then I got an error message that says.

"Unhandled exception has occurred in your application." I could copy and paste all the details if you;d like, but it's a really long list. I posted this on HM forums under the bug category and I seen 2 other people that had posted w/ the same problem. Any ideas on how to fix it? I was just getting started when this happened, I was definitely disappointed ...

Yes, right after Ultimate Bet

Can you let me know what the crash window said?

I noticed something similar with Party but only when I have the Reports or Players Tabs open. Party is kind of a pig with resources but I will be taking steps to make HM's impact a bit lower. When I 6 table Party HM + HUD never goes above 10% CPU on my oldish pc and usually it is about 3 or 4%. But, the flickering still happens occasionally so I will see what I can do.

HUD is still in private beta but shouldn't be much longer now.

I'll get that fixed in the next update

I'm also working on something I've been planning for a while and it is finally just about ready. It's a Player Details popup window with some pretty great statistical depth particularly with post flop play.

Re: New Software: Holdem Manager

Here is the player details window I was talking about. You can have as many of these open as you want and minimizing them will show the players name in the task bar. Normally you'll be using this to analyze other players looking for specific stats that can be exploited or, even more importantly, doing self analysis.

I still need to add the color coding and a couple of other things but just about there. Later I'll be allowing people to customize exactly what appears in this window. Also, an FYI, in the postflop section there are currently 41 different groups of stats. So, want to see how often a player check folds after calling a 4Bet? Just scroll down a little...
