Re: Holdem Manager: 1.11.02 Official Release (15 day trial) (Omaha & Table Scanner/Tracker)

When i place first in regular 9man SNGS on Pokerstars it says i placed 0 and i did not cash and even if i manually change it the ROI is uneffected.

There is no master notes view. You would need to search for the player some other way such as by looking for a particular hand.

I realize I'm in a pissy mood because I'm in this rotten downswing, but I really need to able to trust my tools to do what they say they do. I'll email you the hh, but this is the last time. I've lost faith in your software, guys. I was willing to accept there was something weird about my setup before, but inventing cashes that don't exist is out of bounds.
I apologize for the troubles. Stars recently changed their hand history format and their summaries format. We made updates to work with their changes but bugs are a definite possibility any time a site changes formats.

If Pokerstars would write a separate summary file to your computer's hard drive, the way that full tilt does, there would likely be very few of these types of errors. We rarely have full tilt tourney players with results problems of this magnitude, because their client writes a summary file for EVERY tournament you play, directly to the hard drive so it is auto-imported.

It can vary from site to site - http://faq.holdemmanager.com/questio...ferred+Seating

This is also site specific. Some sites you can import observed hands without sitting at a table. Pokerstars and Full Tilt do not allow this, but they do allow us to Pre-Fetch 1 hand so that we can query the database and display the HUD. This will help in your table selection process.

Please note that if you use preferred seating at full tilt or stars so you always sit in the bottom seat, you need to pay close attention. When you take a seat the table will spin to put you in your favorite seat. The HUD will not spin until AFTER you have played 1 hand. This means that while waiting for and playing the big blind, your opponent HUDs will most likely be out of position.

Try to request the summary and import it to see if it helps. If you manually edited the tournament you may need to delete the hands, then the tournament, and import it again before importing the summary.

http://faq.holdemmanager.com/questio...and+Histories+

I always suggest you Email support@pokerstars.com and ask for ALL your old Hand Histories and Tournament Summaries.

They will send you an email with links to zip files of your hand histories. Download all the zip files. Right-Click > Extract the contents of each zip file to a new folder. HM > Import From Folder for all of the unzipped hands.

The tournament summaries should be attached to the email as .htm files. Download the attachments. HM > Import File(s) for all of those files. It will probably ask you to search/select your Pokerstars screen name. If the files are sent as .html you will need to rename them (Right-Click > Rename) from .html to .htm extensions.

Then later, you want to import the summaries on a regular basis:

Pokerstars > Lobby > Requests > Tournament History .. > 200

Then you have to create a text file, from the email, to import to HM.

If you continue to have problems with it, please send me the hand and summary file to test/duplicate. Please www.7-zip.org the hands and email them to me at fozzy@holdemmanager.net, with a link to this thread.

See my rant above about Pokerstars needing to write summary files like full tilt.

Hi foz, hope you're well?

Bit of an issue with the size of my Holdem Manager folder. As I have 5 databases I was planning on deleting them all except the one I use. However obv it would be good to keep my hands.

Would it be ok to backup each database through postgresSQL: Right Click > Back Up (Format is auto-selected as Compress).

Then should I ever really need these databases I might be able to recreate the db using the backup?

Thanks. Will this be fixed soon? I heard it was possible to find out that information automatically in STT's without the summary files.

Re: Holdem Manager: 1.11.02 Official Release (15 day trial) (Omaha & Table Scanner/Tracker)

Well, its been quite sometime since I opened up my own HEM. Probably 6 months plus, and I am hoping my DB and everything else is still here. At first I kept getting a message that HEM encountered a problem and had to close. So I installed the newest beta update. Now when I try to open it I get this message :

An error occured on startup: Could not load file or assembly 'sorttbls.nlp' or one of its dependencies. The system can not find the file specified.

Any simple instructions on how to fix this?

You only play stars and full tilt? If so, you can always get your old hands from them. I would not suggest you back up all of the DB's. I would suggest you backup any existing/original hands you have in your archives and then manually backup each of the databases to be thorough. All of the original hands and exported hands can be compressed using 7Zip or similar to less than 10% of their original size, so space isn't much of a concern.

Then, if you ever want to get all of those hands again you can just manually import them all to a single DB. Any duplicates will be skipped and you will end up with one large DB of every hand ever played/imported.

If you play a site like stars/ftp you can email their support and ask for all your old hand histories and tourney histories/results.

Find and backup your \HMArchive folder. Your \HMArchive is likely not in your \Holdem Manager directory. We normally suggest you use C:\HMArchive, but you may have put it anywhere. To verify the location: Options > Configure Auto Import Folders > Edit > Archive Folder: ___________________

Export Your Notes - http://faq.holdemmanager.com/images/notes-02.jpg

Export Your Bonuses and Rakeback - Options > Rakeback & Bonuses - http://faq.holdemmanager.com/images/...bonuses-01.jpg

Export any tourney summaries by selecting all your tournaments in the Data View Sub-Tab of the Tourney > Results Menu and choose Export Tourney Results and summaries

http://faq.holdemmanager.com/images/...ta-view-01.jpg

Make sure you export any custom HUD layouts to your \Config folder and copy it for a backup. http://faq.holdemmanager.com/questio...ort+HUD+Layout

and finally:

Export your hands and then open the new database and import them into that - http://faq.holdemmanager.com/questio...6+Export+Hands

Once the Hands are imported you can import the Tourney Results and Bonuses/Rakeback

Yes, I would expect it will be fixed in the next release. Typically the pokerstars single table tourneys are calculated correctly without the summaries, but it does not do it for EVERY single table game at stars. If it is over a single table you will definitely need the summaries.

Yes, if you setup the preferred seating properly.

Restart your computer and update HM again.

http://www.holdemmanager.net/hmbetaupdate

If none of that helps, I would suggest a clean reinstall:

http://faq.holdemmanager.com/questio...o+Uninstaller+

1) Make a backup of your C:\Program Files\RVG Software\Holdem Manager\Config folder, and any other important files.
2) Uninstall HM with www.revouninstaller.com using the Deep setting. You do not need to uninstall PostgreSQL.
3) If given the option, on the 2 following screens of Revo, remove any registry entries and leftover files.
4) Reboot your computer
5) Install the complete setup of HM: http://rvgsoftware.fileburst.com/Hol...ager_Setup.exe. You should un-check the PostgreSQL Option when running the combo installer.
6) Test if it for a while and see if it works

I don't find this answer satisfying. I'm sure it's difficult to adjust if stars changes their hh format unexpectedly, but the responsibility for reading those files still rests on you.

Data integrity is PARAMOUNT in a poker database. People rely on this software in a lot of ways -- paying their taxes leaps to mind. I want to hear you say this result is troubling, and it will be your highest priority to a) fix the problem, and b) put safeguards in the code so that similar problems won't crop up with hh format changes in the future.

You are dodging the blame with this summary-file ruse -- I can easily put the summaries on my hard drive manually -- and it does not reflect well on you.

It wasn't an answer really, just a bit of an explanation as to what may have caused the problems recently. I cant really say for sure either way, as it isn't my department. All I can do is help duplicate the problem and forward it to the people that are capable of fixing it.

Quote:

Of course it is troubling and it will be fixed as soon as possible, but I dont think you want me to lie to you and say that this somehow jumps to the top of the bugs list. It will be assigned a priority by the bugs manager and be assigned to a programmer to be fixed, as soon as possible.

Quote:

This isn't my area of expertise, but I think you are asking for the impossible here. If they change format of the files we import, we have to change our code to work with their new format.

************** JIT Debugging **************
To enable just-in-time (JIT) debugging, the .config file for this
application or computer (machine.config) must have the
jitDebugging value set in the system.windows.forms section.
The application must also be compiled with debugging
enabled.

For example:

<configuration>
    <system.windows.forms jitDebugging="true" />
</configuration>

When JIT debugging is enabled, any unhandled exception
will be sent to the JIT debugger registered on the computer
rather than be handled by this dialog box.
I made a backup of one database and it didn't take long. So I think I might just do this on all? I do play only Stars and FTP too, so can always get hands from them if needs be.

Also a purge then vacuum didn't make the PostgreSQL folder smaller despite purging 900k hands or so :/

I did both of these and neither worked. I am still getting the same error message.

Re: Holdem Manager: 1.11.02 Official Release (15 day trial) (Omaha & Table Scanner/Tracker)

i cant get 1.11.02 to import results from FT 18 man SnG's. i checked my HH folder and tried manually importing the HH and summary's and they wont show up in the tourney results tab. only 6 or 9 man SnG's show up. any idea how to fix this?

That is not how you export large groups of hands. Export the entire DB to text files.

You will end up with backup files that will recreate 5 separate databases. I am not sure why you have now, or would need to recreate, 5 separate databases. it just seems a lot easier to import all the hands to one DB and have a single, consolidated DB.

Purging and Vacuuming when done right will reclaim some hard drive space, but it is a minor amount in relation to the size of the database. If you have 5 databases then it is a small portion of 1/5 of the databases, which means it may be insignificant in regards to the entire size of your \Postgresql\data folder.

Please email support@holdemmanager.com, with a link to this thread, and your forum name, so we can schedule a Teamviewer session. Make sure you let us know you already tried updating and reinstalling so we dont suggest those steps again.

Right-Click > Rename > Change the extension from .txt to .report

Windows hides 'known file extensions' by default. http://www.granneman.com/techinfo/wi...howextensions/
