Announcing Hold'em Manager 2 ("HM2") Beta Announcing Hold'em Manager 2 ("HM2") Beta

08-04-2011 , 08:51 PM

We are proud to announce an immediate public beta of HM2 for existing Hold’em Manager users.

The first thing that we want to share with you is how to enroll in the HM2 Beta program. If you are an existing owner of HM1, please log into HoldemManager.com and click on the link at the top of the home page to enroll in the HM2 Beta program.

Although a final decision has not been made on the price to upgrade to HM2, anyone that purchases Hold'em Manager now receives HM2 for FREE. In fact, anyone that has purchased HM or OM since May 1st will receive HM2 for FREE! Once HM2 goes on public sale (expected end of Q3), anyone that has purchased HM or OM within the previous year will be eligible for a discount off the standard upgrade price.

Led by Roy Goncalves and Mike Lamb, the creators of the original Hold’em Manager, our ten person poker software development team is made up of industry leading developers associated with some of the most popular poker software titles on the market today.

We will share more details about HM2 in this thread and the HM Blog over the following weeks.

The next major project will be a Mac version. I agree that it should be a priority and it will be.

The logical follow-up question is what date? I will address that once we have HM2 out the door (prior to Q3).

Thanks for your feedback.

Log into HoldemManager.com and you will see a link at the top of the home page to enroll in the HM2 beta program.

There is currently a waiting list for codes but we should be able to release a code to you within 14 days based on the current waiting list.

Thanks

Yes. It will be released before the end of the month and it has several innovations to make it much more intuitive and user friendly.

Yes. All HM App licenses are transferable to HM2 and there is no upgrade fee on the HM Apps.

In fact, several of the existing HM Apps such as SNGW and LeakBuster are working on enhanced functionality for the HM2 version.

Just got my license for this. Anyone have thoughts on it yet? I'm currently importing my old database and am going to play around with it once that's done. Any suggestions/things I should take a look at??

I would suggest a couple of things:

1. The HOME section has an HM2 TV player with several 2-3 minute tutorial vignettes on various features in HM2. Spend some time browsing through those.

2. Test driving the new interface and just familiarizing yourself with it.

3. At some point, I would suggest that you turn on NOTE CADDY. You can do this from the HUD Options.

4. If you are an advanced user, you should check out the Line Analysis section under Opponents-->Player Analysis

5. Lastly, check out the vs. Hero stat options in the HUD.

Thanks

What is the difference between someone that bought HEM two years ago and someone that just bought it? IMO everyone with a license should get a free upgrade. It's not cool to punish the guys that supported HEM since its inception.

Any possibility that HM2 will integrate a hand logger for Bodog? I think this would be a very valuable feature given the limited availability of US online venues. This feature would instantly increase HM2's value by $50 for many people

just my two cents here but if you bought HEM two years ago then you've gotten far more value out of it then someone who just bought it

I believe that someone above just answered this question in part. I would only add to that by saying:

1. This is the first paid upgrade that HM has ever had and during the previous four years there have literally been several hundred free updates to HM1. In addition to that, we will continue to update HM1 for hand history changes for an extended period of time.

2. This is literally a new program and is not an update to HM1. There are over 1,000,000 lines of code and, other than the hand parser, there is not a single line of code in HM2 that was in HM1.

Does anyone have any thoughts on this yet? I think the software is incredible. So powerful. Note Caddy is amazing. Everything looks so much slicker too. However, the shine is really taken off by how processor intensive it is. I've got a brand new computer which is pretty powerful itself (AMD Phenom II X4 955 3.2ghz, 6gb RAM) and it's just getting crushed. Anyone else having these kinds of problems?

Hi Jameschant.

That definitely should not be the case. We do have an update coming out in the next 24 hours. If you are still experiencing that issue, please PM me with your Skype account name and I will have someone contact you directly to get more details.

Thanks

Jim
