8%Rake at the Micros? 8%Rake at the Micros?

04-07-2010 , 06:38 AM
I just signed in at VP, to check the site performance.
I was attracted by the 40% Rakeback, and hoped for a generally softer games than full tilt is these days, combined with a smooth runnig software.

But when I checked your rake-rate at the mikros I got little disappointed to see, that you charge 8% (with a cap, though). But generally this appears little high to me, as FullTilt and Stars are only raking 5%. Yeah I know you offer some better rakeback, but the point is, with the rake this high, and a worse software than FT and PS I simply donīt see an argument to switch over to your site.

Why is there no answer to this post by Victory Poker Support? Is this true?

i've just deposited at victory poker yesterday. thank god i only invested $100 at victory poker.

yes, the rake is ****ing over 5% at micros. to be exact, i think it is actually 6%-7%. and yes, the software is horrible. there is also no support for macs. i am playing in a ****ing popup window right now. and because of no software support for macs, I can't get rakeback unless i install windows xp.

also, you have only 10 seconds to raise, call or fold in NLH. there is no time button, and if you are raising you have to do it quick, because there is no time to think about anything because you have to type in what amount to bet since the bet slider is too sensitive (in NLH). how is anyone supposed to play more than 2 tables here?

i played a HU PLO match at micro stakes (.05/.1 Euros) and after about a 5 minute match they had raked nearly 3 Euros! I busted a guy with a 5 Euro stack and i made under 2 Euros.

another thing is that anytime someone wins a hand, the chat box shows how they won by showing every single card. this makes it harder to figure out what hand they had because red and black cards look alike and it shows all 5 cards on two different columns. i dont know why they dont just say "xxx won with a straight, 56789". just keep it easy.

if there are no improvements soon, i am not going to redeposit. i am already irritated and frustrated that i didnt redeposit on pokerstars or full tilt.

there are things that i like though, one of them is that there are micro stakes HU tables (even tho there is ridiculous rake). another thing i liked is the support, i know people here have not liked the support, but i had a sort of complex credit card issue that was solved in about 1 hour (probably due to low traffic).

i also hated the signup process, it doesnt tell you if you use your username or nickname to show up in ring games. i had it switched around obviously.

but anyway, back to the original topic, the rake at micros is unreasonably high.

also, i cant even check the previous hand through this ****ing popup window.

I just saw that Minted Poker recently introduced SOME 3Euro Max tables. Strangely players just keep playing at the 5Euro max tables though.

Curious why hasn't Victory adopted this? I figured it would be network wide.

I play on a different skin for elg and they also offer the 3 euro max tables.

Victory Poker sucks....they are basically stealing from the micro players. They support from VP doesn't even respond in this thread. Site is a complete joke! I suggest no one play on it, it would be easier to just donate your money to them than lose it all in rake.
Also the 40% rakeback is a joke too considering most of the micro players don't even know about rakeback and what it is.

My understanding is that it would not be available network wide. Our solution will be available shortly.

Cheers,
Chris

I stand corrected on this matter. The capped rake tables are available network wide.

From www.victorypoker.com:

Please note that we have also created for you 30 tables with a maximum rake of 3 Euros, they follow the below rake structure:

For more on the rake structure, go to:

Note that the structure chart shows a max of 4 Euros (last line of PL/NL games).

Thanks for the replies. I am not sure why an online room doesn't open and charge less rake. Something that would equate to getting 27% or 30% rakeback. They would get a ton of players that do not have rakeback. No gimmicks just charge for less rake.

I notice some tables with 3E in their titles. Presumably it's them.

No 3E tables at .25/.50e =(, man they are stingy only making a few 3 euro tables. Just change the whole network to 3 euros !!

let him check it out....

From VPChris:

Introducing €3 cap tables
Many of our players have complained about the rake on some of the euro tables. While the rake on many of our dollar tables is comparable to that of other sites/networks, our euro rake was deemed too high by some. In response, Victory Poker and other skins on the Everleaf network have worked out a solution with Everleaf Gaming. We have requested that Everleaf create €3 cap tables. These tables are now ready for your enjoyment. We hope that these cap tables coupled with our near industry high 40% rakeback will appeal to more people in the poker community. The tables are listed below.

Cheers,
Chris

If they did that then they wouldn't get to do there silly little videos where they blow things up or go to some race track in the desert and drive 100,000 dollar cars.
