re: Short Stack and 20BB CAP Strategy + New Note Caddy Package!

I have a site ( www.bestpokercoaching.com ) , where we sell the ShortStacking course as well.

We put a big emphasis on selling quality courses only. You will see that by the few listed items.

The course on short stacking is simply an awesome fit.

We will offer discounts in bundle. Send me an email with the courses you wish to buy and i'm gonna give you a good discount.

With all respect, but this strategy for cap tables with the new rake system at pokerstars, for 50NL and 100NL, the game become almost unbeatable. And its quite risky for a newbie start playing NL200 CAP.

Why write this?

If you are willing to do it over PM to anyone to post your results in the OP. I guarantee you'll get more interest.

Annoys me so much when a coach writes out a huge OP then doesn't include results, 2011 results at that.

@ Everyone

Admittedly, the game does tend to play differently at different stakes and there are certain styles that have similarities if you could divide the player pools up by region. Here are two examples:

1. I have noticed that the Russian player pool (connected through Pokerstrategy.ru, I believe) seem to have a heavy focus on effective use of flatting the blinds and donk betting, dominated by a mostly TAGish style.

2. The Costa Rican players, formed primarily by excellent former American players who have moved abroad have a focus on very loose blind defense standards and unorthodox bet sizes meant to confound the conventionally trained player.

How is this relevant? I have recently been spending some time developing powerful counter strategies based on a new unorthodox style created by myself and influenced by my peers involved my private study group. I plan on stepping away from the game for awhile in order to focus solely on updating my material, as well as creating entirely new things. Everyone who has joined so far will be entitled to any and all new updates for free, as promised. Meanwhile, I plan on a possible move to emphasize the community aspect and hopefully convince some of the stronger players involved to share some of their knowledge and become coaches alongside myself and share in the profits.

In regards to new rake structures, I heavily agree that this could transform the profitability of the game (CAP in particular), and certainly not for the good of the players. To all those concerned, I urge you to take part in the upcoming ***********Stars movement on twitter.

Thanks!

Lorin

Some time ago, Thinkitthrough had contacted me looking to round out his portfolio of coaching services and thought that adding a course on short stacking/20bb cap would be a good fit for his site.

Quite frankly, too many poker players have not exercised the appropriate caution when publicly posting their information about their incomes. Here is a short list of some dangers that may arise from doing so:

1. Potential trouble from tax authorities
2. Backlash from child support or alimony issues
3. Anger/resentment from other players/friends/or family members
4. Public danger posed by the threat of robbery or assault (please reference stories about Greg Raymer and most recently, John Duhamel).

I have done so in the past and even when such numbers/winrates were excellent (from the perspective of someone utilizing short stack strategies), the feedback was mostly negative. Please reference old posts from my personal blog here: http://smallstakeshero.blogspot.com.

Even without publicly posting the information that concerns you, I have had and continue to have great interest in my strategy, but thank you for your concern

Lorin

The russian players are the most trained in CAP regarding pstrategy.com. But, do you think that ur strategy can be successfull in the actual moments of the cap tables?

re: Short Stack and 20BB CAP Strategy + New Note Caddy Package!

Yes, and very much so. I am already in the midst of creating a new strategy that will result in paying less overall rake with a reduction in 3-betting, especially BvB.

The changes at Stars means that a certain number pros will leave and seek out other games, while a few others will have gotten banned from taking part in the strike. However, the recreational players from whom you make the majority of your income will be undeterred by the new changes in the rake structures and will stay. This will result in a more favorable reg to fish ratio and overall game quality should improve noticeably.

Although I can't be certain, I expect that the game should return somewhat to how it was when it was first introduced and be much softer overall than it is in its current state and likely remain that way

re: Short Stack and 20BB CAP Strategy + New Note Caddy Package!

Just to add my 2c to this, I'm a longterm student of Lorin's and I'm hard pressed that anyone could even compare his teaching to pokerstrategy. as far as i'm concerned, most of the russian regs are seriously spewy (ofc there are exceptions - take trueteller for example).

The one thing I will say about Lorin is that you get 1000% more than you pay for. His private forum is filled with quality cap regs, and he goes above and beyond his requirement as a coach to see that people succeed. This is extremely rare in poker, and something that I'd like to publically thank him for.

To all of those concerned with rake changes at Stars, please read my newest blog entry where I interview Chisness, concerning his bid to go to the Isle of Man.
