[RunItOnce Pro] Full Ring/6max NL Coaching, Video Reviews, Micros Discounts, and a new Book!

Hello potential student!

I've received a lot of positivity about how I've been able to help people like you over the past year. The reviews posted below are a good indication of how helpful I've been to others, and how much I can help you. You will find reviews of people that moved up from 25nl to 50nl, and 100nl over a couple months, as well as reviews from people who are more confident in the games they're playing in. Here are my qualifications, and info about how I can help you become a better poker player!

Poker Results/History/Credentials:
  • Over 450k won, and over 4M hands played between the end of 2008 to Feb 2013 on PokerStars
  • I've played over 4 million hands, almost all of them were playing 20 - 24 tables (less at beginning/end of sessions). This has allowed me the skill to see situations clearly and quickly, and to talk about poker in a way that doesn't require advanced math or ideas/concepts that require a great deal of effort to figure out while at the tables
  • 2x Supernova Elite (2009/2010)
  • Lots of successful students! (see replies for an idea of how people do after getting coaching)
  • My screen names are Klairic on PokerStars, and Mike0550 on Full Tilt
  • I'm a certified Hatha Yoga teacher - I took a 200 hour course at Yoga By Sarah in St. Catharines, ON Canada - a Yoga Alliance certified school
  • Becoming a Yoga teacher has helped improve my teaching skills, and my ability to describe difficult concepts

Coaching Sessions! 1 on 1, or bring a friend to share the cost
  • I've been primarily a Full Ring NL player, but have lots of experience playing and coaching 6-max NL as well. About 1/3 of my students play 6-max as their main game.
  • I teach you poker by asking a lot of questions, opening up your awareness to new things, and by sharing my experiences. I'm very good at both leak finding, and helping you to add new things to your game.
  • By working with me, you'll have a better understanding of spots you have trouble with. You'll also gain more confidence with the rest of your game. More confidence = less stress and better results.
  • Depending on how much time we spend together, I can also assist you with how to learn poker better on your own. This is a process with less immediate results, but the aim is for you to become self-sufficient.
  • The focus is on how to think, not what to think. This allows you to be the best poker player you can be, and not be bound to only getting to my skill level.
  • 1 Hour - $100
  • 4 Hours - $350
  • 8 Hours - $650
  • 12 Hours - $950
  • Discounts are available for microstakes players (10% off for 50nl, 25% off for 25nl and lower)
  • Sessions are recorded with Camtasia, and offered for free to the student

8 week coaching intensive
  • All of the same stuff from above applies, but here you're getting more of my time.
  • We start with 2x 1 hour sessions a week (16 hours of 1 on 1 time), and you can ask me lots of questions and send me hands to talk about between sessions.
  • I'm only going to take on 2 intensive students at a time. This is both for my sanity and also so that I can offer a high quality product to everyone.
  • Cost - $1000

Video Reviews
  • This is an "offline" procedure, where you record yourself playing 4-6 tables. You send me the video, and then I watch the video, and make lots of notes about things I like and suggested changes. You can then review the notes and ask questions about things that I bring up so that you can better learn from me.
  • This is useful for me to find some leaks, and make some suggestions for your overall game.
  • I'll send you my notes within 3 business days of getting the video. I'll send back the response to your questions within another 3 business days of your response. There's a good chance I can get back to you within 24 hours, but I'm quoting 3 business days to be safe.
  • 20 minute video - $65
  • 30 minute video - $90
  • 40 minute video - $115
  • Discounts are available for microstakes players (10% off for 50nl, 25% off for 25nl and lower)

New Book Coming! Help out and get a free copy.
  • I'm currently writing a poker book, and I'm going to do my best to include everything I know about poker
  • Here's where I need your help! I'm looking for some stuff to round out the content. Please answer one or all of the following questions:
  • What question about poker would you like answered? (could be anything - doesn't have to be strategy)
  • What is it about poker that keeps you coming back?
  • What do you wish was different about the poker community?
  • If you send me something, you agree that I can include it in my book royalty free. You'll get credited in the book, and I'll send you a free copy when it comes out (most likely a downloadable version).

Contact:
  • Send me a PM here (link)
  • Find me on Skype or Facebook as Klairic
  • E-mail me at mike@runitonce.com
  • Please tell me a bit about yourself, what you hope to get out of our time together, and when you're available for coaching.

Payment/Terms
  • Payment can be made by Stars/Full Tilt transfer, Paypal, Moneybookers, BitCoin, or Money Order
  • Payment is required up front before time can be booked
  • Time purchased expires after 6 months
  • You can cancel or reschedule anytime up to 24 hours before the session. The first missed session is free, and after that, it costs half an hour of our remaining time together.[/indent]

Thanks for your time, and I look forward to helping you become a better poker player!

Mike

re: [RunItOnce.com Coach] - Full Ring NL – 2x SNE, 4M+ hands, $450k+ won, $150/hr, $500/4 hours

I have had a couples of hours of coaching with Mike as part of his free coaching mentioned above. I was very impressed with his professional attitude, his ability to analyse situations and he seemed genuinely interested to help. Moreover I have played against Mike at the tables before and he was certainly one of the strongest regs at midstakes. I can recommend Mike to anyone interested to move their game to the next level. He is certainly way ahead his 2+2 competition at FR coaching.

I recently had an introductory session with Mike in which we reviewed some selected hand histories from 100NL FR. It was a valuable experience. He focused on getting inside my thought process, to make specific comments on specific hands and also to look for overarching themes in my my play... not easy to do in 1 session but I came away impressed. I will not hesitate to call on Mike for coaching in the future.

I took advantage of the free sessions that Mike was offering and found them very useful. His comment of "I’m not here to teach you how to play like I do. I’m here to help you play your game better," is very true. He will not give you what he thinks your opponents range is or what you should do but will ask questions of you and your thought process. If you are looking for a system or an answer (ie. 3bet this range every time) then this type of coaching isnt for you. Judging by results, hes clearly a very competent FR player and coaches of his calibre in FR are very hard to come by. Ones that can acheive his results whilst 24 tabling on Stars (!) are even rarer.

Although my initial sessions were free, I have since had sessions I paid for. Which should go some way to indicating how I felt about the coaching.

I remember seeing you around the full ring forums when I was active there a few years ago. I think we also played against each other on Ipoker at the NL100 FR tables before you moved to Poker Stars. From what I understand you are a very decent player and this seems like a very good offer.

How would you feel about coaching 6max? I have played almost exclusive FR, but there are almost no tables above NL100 at the sites I play so that is the main reason for switching. Perhaps you could tell what the action is at Stars for FR above NL100? I.e. are there many tables and are they any good or filled with nits and decent regs?

Perhaps it would be a good idea to have the initial session and then decide whether or not it is a good idea to continue?

Yeah, I played on Ipoker mid to late 2008 before I moved to Tilt and then Stars. Don't remember my screen names, but they were probably similar to my names on the sites I listed.

I'm probably the wrong person to ask about game quality as I don't really know how good games on other sites/networks are right now. I think of 888 as being much softer, but it's been a while since I played there. I'd say that yeah, there are a lot of decent regs and nits at 100+, but that there's still a lot of room to make money in the games. A big reason Stars is beneficial is that it's easy for people to play a lot more tables and have an overall higer hourly even with tougher games.

If you're interested in 6-max coaching, the first 2 sessions are free. After that, you can decide if you think I'm able to help you enough that you'd like to pay for it.

klairic is a great player. i made a leggo vid a couple months ago, where one of my students made a speculative peal vs him, and i said it would normally be okay, but not vs the best player at the table, and one of the best small-midstakes regs.

re: [RunItOnce.com Coach] - Full Ring NL – 2x SNE, 4M+ hands, $450k+ won, $150/hr, $500/4 hours

Just had my first session with klairic.

He is well spoken and definitely knows his stuff. He explains things pretty well, and we definitely found some key things to work on, even though I went into it just expecting to BS about poker for a couple hours.]

I think I am pretty difficult to coach. And he was up to the task pretty easily. We found stuff to discuss nonstop for 2 hours straight. Without ever really digging too deep.

I would recommend him as a coach, but I don't want anyone else getting better. So whatever you do, do not use him lol. Just kidding, guy is worth the money easily.

Look forward to future sessions.

re: [RunItOnce.com Coach] - Full Ring NL – 2x SNE, 4M+ hands, $450k+ won, $150/hr, $500/4 hours

I recently had two introductory sessions with Mike where we reviewed a pre-recorded session and completed hand history reviews.

I was impressed by Mike's depth of thought as well as his teaching abilities. Rather than telling me what I should be doing in the spots that we reviewed, Mike asked me a series of questions so that I could understand why I should making a particular play. This approach opened my thinking and made me consider variables and lines that I had previously not thought about.

I can recommend Mike to those who are looking to improve their game and develop the requisite skills to beat small and mid stakes. I will not hesitate to contact Mike in the future when I am looking for further coaching.

I had a couple sessions with Klairic quite some time ago (was going to write sooner but the 2+2 went down and then I forgot about it). Its clear that Klairic has an excellent understanding about the game and is a very good player. He very quickly analyzed the situations that came up in the video and offered some solid advice on the lines I took.

I recently recieved 5 coaching sessions for Klairic and can say it was definitely worth the money. Over the years I have done SNE 3 times, and played with Klairic quite a bit, so I already knew his skill level is very high.

There is simply no better value I have seen from other coaches. Most other coaches at this caliber are trying to charge rates that make no sense to pay for them.

We used a variety of strategies to review my play, from videos I recorded, to database review, and general strategy discussion.

Before the coaching I had not played 100 big blinds games in awhile so my game felt really off. After the 5 coaching sessions, and putting some hands in the meantime, my game is now at the highest level it has ever been.

re: [RunItOnce.com Coach] - Full Ring NL – 2x SNE, 4M+ hands, $450k+ won, $150/hr, $500/4 hours

During my travels in Canada I was fortunate enough to meet up with Mike and do some coaching live for what was probably just under 10 hours total. Anyone who knows me well can confirm that I am extremely picky when it comes to picking coaches and even more so in liking a coach. I have had a number of coaches lifetime, most of which I only did a single session with - in most cases it was because despite their results/winnings, I just didn't think their coaching was great for me.

Mike's results are obviously really sick, especially considering he made SNE twice, started tables and didn't game select at midstakes. In addition to that it should already be quite clear from the other reviews in the thread that he is a good coach, but I want to emphasize that his coaching techniques and methods are excellent as he understands the game very well but also how to explain his opinions. He is also very modest and open to discussion (for example if I don't completely understand or agree with something, he would be more than happy to discuss further) and I also like that he is truly a "why" type of teacher who considers variables (what if) as opposed to someone who just tells you what to do in a specific hand. I think students will ALWAYS benefit the most in the long run through this type of coaching.

Even though he is a full ring specialist, I think he is certainly more than capable of teaching 6-max as well, since most of the concepts players can improve on stay similar in both formats. I am playing mostly 500NL 6-max at the moment and feel I benefited a lot from his coaching.

Finally, he is very respectful of his students and when I asked about a few players (not knowing they were his students) he wouldn't say anything about their game etc

Had a great time with Mike, will definitely keep in touch and do some more time in the future as well. Would highly recommend Klairic as a coach!

I recently had some lessons with Mike and i soon realized what a smart guy he is.His approach to coaching is excellent,he doesnt just say "that was wrong" or "that was ok",he really wants to know why you did what u did in depth then corrects any faultly logic with excellent simplified explainations and an example of how he would have played it.He applies excellent structure to the way he teaches not side tracking into other topics mid way through lessons. He's real easy to get on with and genuinely cares about your progress. Also he genuinely missed a lesson with me by accident,we rescheduled and he gave me an extra free lesson.I strongly would recommend Mike to any losing or winning micro, small or mid stakes players.
