Hey all. I had my first session with ThinkItThrough tonight. He has a very good attitude on coaching and he definitely grasps the concepts and breaks them down to the understandable format. Every question I had was discussed in a thoughtful manner. Because of all my questions the session, actually, went over. He handled the situation very professionally even though there was the next session waiting and the session was wrapped up w/o a rush. After reviewing hands and talking about different spots he gave me three key points to work with. For a big leak I have in my game he also gave a very practical exercise to work. Def. a well spent hour at 3 am my time.

Just finished my session with TIT. This was actually my first experience of being coached so it definitely was a step in a new direction for me. Firstly I want to say that TIT has a very professional attitude and interacts very well with you. He is a very organized person and generally has a systematic approach to the format in which he teaches. He also lets you to decide what to work on in the session. We basically went over hands and he identified many important concepts and leaks that I had in my game. He actually made a step by step plan based on my needs to improve my win rate.

On the contrary, about the only real issue I had during the session was that he talked a little much on topics that I really didn't want to delve into too much. But then again I am mostly to blame for not laying out a strict curriculum that specifically tailored my needs. Overall though, I was pleasantly surprised with my first experience in the coaching world and I really would recommend Mr. Gecko based on his skill-set and communication skills.

I am very impressed by the coaching received by TIT. He spotted few leaks very early and we talked about how to fix them.
He is also very organised like mentioned above by other people.
I can write the whole article about how good the session was, blah blah, but I just simply rate it 10/10 as far as coaching goes. ( i've had other 3 coaches )

re: #1 Ranked Online Poker Courses /// www.BestPokerCoaching.com /// NEW $100k Coaching System

So I had my coaching session last night with "Mr.Gordon Gekko" (yeah, well he's the Wall Street guy of Poker and wanted to sleep on it before I came rushing in to write on the session while I was still full of excitement and enthusiasm...

... so now its the morning in my timezone and guess what? ...I'm still excited and even more enthusiastic!!

When we first started off I had a sneaking feeling that I somehow "knew" Gordon .. so when I asked his name (uh huh) and he told me who he was, I wasn't surprised at all as I had subscribed to get info from him before which I had found helpful and particularly enjoyed because of his attitide ...that's a WIN! serendipity has a way of working things out ...

We started by N. (I wont totally out him but in case some think the whole Gordon Gekko thing is some elaborate scam, its not, its just a name ... additionally I kinda hope he doesn't let people know who he is as that just makes more information available to my competition) taking an interest in me as a person and what was important to me in life and poker ... wow! refreshing! another WIN!

Then we proceeded to get down to business ... Im not going to talk about specifics because the way he works will be different for everyone based on learning style and what each individuals needs/goals are. Mine were met. Another WIN!

I came away from the session with information applicable to my game that will change things for me if I take responsibility and do what needs to be done according to my style. WIN!

I could go on and on and I have to say that I am writing this because Im holding up my end of the deal about giving a testimonial ... I like to give praise/thanks where its due, however in this case, and I know it sounds bad, but If I didn't have to, I probably wouldn't and that's only because I would like to keep this a secret and not have others learning and getting access to N.'s teaching/coaching ... why would I want to make my games more difficult?

Summary: 1 Hour coaching session @ deeply discounted rate: $100
Meeting Gordon Gekko which included (in my case) Countless laughs and eye opening information, 5 pearls of wisdon and 1 "AHA!" moment : Priceless

Do yourself a favour and check this out, I feel inspired again, maybe you're next?

Thanks N. You da man!

Cheers,
Colin

I am this guy. "Gordon" is a personal friend of mine in real life. I traveled and lived with him, so I can say something about him which others can't. First of all: he's a real guy, but he just doesn't like his name to be spread on the internet. Having your real name associated with poker can possibly become troublesome in future times. About Gordon as a person: He is systematic, punctual and takes pride in being honest. He enjoys teaching people and spreading his knowledge and experience. It's always a pleasure to work with people who enjoy what they do.

About Gordon as a coach: He'll teach you things which are not standard, but which do work. And he'll explain WHY they work. I have to be a bit critical about his 6max coaching skills.

-For small stakes 6max players: Gordon is a great 6max player, but is he also a great 6max teacher? One practical example: Gordon will teach you what range you can play preflop. However, he doesn't realize that the student will not play as well postflop as he does. As a student you might get in trouble postflop that way. On the other hand: if you take more lessons, you'll greatly improve your postflop game as well and you'll benefit from the entire approach. Conclusion: 500USD/hour is probably still worth it for small stakes 6max, but not if you limit yourself to one or two hours. Another thing: you might benefit more from a USD200/h coach, who is specialized in teaching basic 6max ABC poker. In other words: Gordon is "overqualified" for small stakes 6max players.

-For 6max medium stakes players: Medium stakes players should already have a decent basic game. They'll greatly benefit from his knowledge on how to exploit other players. Actually: this is probably just what you need to take your game to the next level.

-For any HU players: He's the absolute nuts. If you play medium or high stakes HU, even paying 1k+/hour would still be a no brainer.

re: #1 Ranked Online Poker Courses /// www.BestPokerCoaching.com /// NEW $100k Coaching System

Hey everybody,

first of all, thanks for such great feedback. Thanks also to "thebighit89" for helping me to plug a leak.

few updates:

1) Regular, scheduled coaching will be available at ~ February 7th-9th ; And then from February 11th on in a more regular fashion again.
Why? 2 friends had birthdays, and just flew back to Europe yesterday. Have spent the last months in Bangkok. Heading to South America in a week.
Since i don´t see my family very often (maybe 3 times a year), i´m going to spend some time with them. Internet isn´t very good here. However, i´ll go online a few times these days. If you see me "green sign ( = online)" on Skype, just hit me up and we can do coaching "out of schedule". First come, first serve.
If you see the away (red color), i´m coaching somebody.

2) Price will increase to 250$/hour for everybody now. If you have locked up 3 hours at the discounted rate, of course you get the discounted price.

The price will increase further, so if you´re interested, make sure to lock yourself a deal before the next increase. For this price, you can book 5 sessions max (after that, we negotiate).

3) Please send an email instead of pm-ing me here. Why ? One reason why i´ll be able to offer coaching for such a low price is that my assistant(s) take care of the organisational parts.
Not only will this avoid confusion, but it will ensure that everybody gets exactly what they want. And i can focus 100% on what i´m best at - COACHING you.

Fwiw, i´ve answered every pm so far and will in the future. But it can take a week or two, where as emails usually get answered within 24hrs.

re: #1 Ranked Online Poker Courses /// www.BestPokerCoaching.com /// NEW $100k Coaching System

It has now gone a few hours since my first session with Gordon and as predicted there are alot of leaks in my game. Sure he pointed out a few things I already knew, but really needed someone to point out.

He also quickly found other leaks I needed to get a grip on in order to get my winrate steady and going up. Gordon was very easy to talk with and had no problem with me going off topic in order to get a wider grasp on a concept and very quickly the nerves was gone and the session was relaxed and very easy to grasp.

I got a few "homeworks" that I really liked, cause they will get me to become a more even player, if I listen and do as he recommended.

I should also say that Gordon off the bat told me that his internetconnection could be unstable and if there was a problem that made me think the session was not good enough I did not have to pay. I had no problem and it all went great and I gladly paid for the session, and I will book more sessions in the future.

seems a very competent and v nice guy. I infact impeded my own first session by not having any hh's to hand but we were still able to have a decent session discussing theory and certain spots (at my request). I'll write another review after i've done the next 2 sessions when i am likely able to make more of the coaching but the first signs are very positive!

hey guys, today i had 2nd session w/ ThinkItThrough and it was realy great.
Everything was very professional and we have talked/worked about 3bet pots in theory and practice. I have learned a ton and got some homework to do. Also we have been reviewing some 3b pot hands from HEM and we played a lot w/ stats, ranges etc.. this was one of the best lessons (infromation based and how useful somethig i learned is) i ever had in my life.
Can't wait for 3rd session...

Thx Gordon
