Re: mpethybridge--Database Analysis: Finding and Plugging Leaks with HEM and PT3
Had 2 x 2 hour sessions with Matt over the last few day and would 100% recommend him for anyone serious about finding and plugging leaks in their game. The current price he charges is a steal imo
I use leakbuster to analyse my game but its a poor substitute for what Matt found in analysing my game. I've recently run well, 5PTBB/100 over my last 100K hands, but under the surface Matt found some glaring leaks and offered sound advice on how to work on these.
I found Matt a really nice guy to work with, who was very willing to impart his vast knowledge of HEM and poker strategy.
Cheers Matt.

A Midstakes Player's Review of Mpethybridge's coaching:
It seems that most of Matt's students play small stakes, so I wanted to offer my review from someone that plays $2/4 - $5/10NL 6-max.
For anyone thinking about having a session with mpethybridge, I would definitely 100% recommend it, regardless of the stakes you play. He really has a lot to offer. His knowledge of Holdem Manager and appropriate winrates in different scenarios is highly valuable.
When I started my session with Matt, he was quite impressed to see that I had one of the highest winrates he had seen in quite a while. However, he was still able to find different leaks and areas where I could improve.
Because I was already winning at a decent clip, a lot of the things we found were quite subtle, stuff like:
-tweak your 3-bet range slightly
-open a little more from the CO
-open a little less from the BTN
-fire another double barrel every 4k hands or so (my double barreling frequency was generally good, but he felt that I should be firing a little more in certain spots, which would be the equivalent of one more double barrel every 4k hands or so).
We also found areas where I was generally outperforming my opponents, and he suggested that I open up my game more: most notably calling more 3-bets in position. He even found aspects of my game where I was under-performing at $5-10, even though I was doing quite well in these areas at lower stakes.
One of the most valuable things I got out of my session was an increased excitement and motivation to get the most out of Holdem Manager. I now feel empowered to use HEM to dig deep into my game and find areas to improve. I was always a bit reluctant to do this in the past, I guess a little bit afraid of what I might find, but now I feel excited by the chance to find leaks and eliminate them.
So for anyone considering a database review session with mpethybridge, I would 100% recommend it.

I'm definitely interested in the One Hour Free Look.. I believe I qualify.. technically..
I have 74,776 hands of 10nl in m yDB.. I'm -$96.03.. My AIEV is +$47.50 though.. but WR is still negative (-1.28bb/100) and with AIEV it's marginally positive.
I read the original topic but didn't see how to apply.. but I see you guys PMing back and forth.. Should I PM you? lol..
My username is wangtkkik on Merge..
I think over the 350k hands I've played, I'm up like $2 on PTR lol.
Would we go over my most sessions/hands? I think I've been getting better recently and believe some of the hands from last year don't reflect my current strategy.
In February I'm down $38.11 over 17k (should be +$42.69 for a WR of 2.5 bb/100 which I really dislike.. need more.)
I think looking at February's hands would reflect my current game.. We could look at my 10nl hands from the beginning of the year.. 24.2k hands.. -$150.. so I'm def a losing player (should be only down $8.92 so 14 BI below EV)..
If I don't qualify, I can wait til I build up money to pay you. That's why I posted the EV crap, because I'm almost a winning player/could be.. but I'm BE even if I was exactly at EV.
