I've had several sessions with Bill over the past couple months and it's been extraordinary. Not only does he clearly no his sh*t, but has a way of explaining things very well. I was blown away with how much just a couple sessions have improved my analysis of hands live and as a result, my winrate. He also provides very useful papers he's written and sometimes even goes over the session time limit to make sure that the student gets what he is saying.

Bill is an excellent coach and clearly has a passion for helping his students succeed.

The cost of his services is very, very reasonable considering 1 decent pot at 2-5 pays for it

I'd highly recommend Bill to anyone in the low-mid LIVE game needing beginner, intermediate, or advances coaching.

i did 3 sessions with bill and my game has improved dramatically. i am now profiting almost EVERY session i have. its incredible, ive noticed so many leaks on players and my all around game has just been getting better and better. the approach he took with me on has been very understandable and easy to adapt to. everything he said makes sense and he makes sure you understand it in different situations before you continues. the essays have also been a big help, i saved them all on my phone and read them all, and go over the ones i want to when im sitting down for a session, its been great. thank you bill i really mean it and i will be in contact with you again very soon, just been extremely busy.

So basically, I agree with every positive thing said earlier in the thread.

I've now had several sessions with Bill and he's helping me build a REAL solid poker foundation that I'll be using both live and online. Funny thing is he mentions on his website that he'll teach you ideas and concepts not found in books, which at first I thought was a marketing ploy. Well, it isn't. He's given me so much to think about (even though I've gone through books and videos quite a bit), its almost overwhelming and I now need to work hard to incorporate everything.

Basically, super rich sessions, doesn't look at the clock if he has nothing planned behind, and a straight to the point no BS guy. Hence a great teacher.

Highly recommended. I just hope if you start working with him you won't be sitting at my table.

I have been playing Live 2/5 seriously for a while and before our first session, I didn't really know what to expect. We are now into our 5th session and I must say every bit of information Bill has given me makes absolute sense and right away I see how I can profit from it and dramatically improve my game.

Bill will never give you something without proving how and why it is the best +EV move you can make at any given situation. I can see right away how much money I was leaving on the table. He will NEVER just say "take it from me" without proving it out. He also starts each session with a game plan, he doesn't just ask for hand histories or questions.

There is so much that books just don't cover and this is where Bill can really improve your game even if you are just a beginner. I only wish I got connected with him a long time ago. I used to be worried about being up against all the full time pro TAG and LAG aggessive players, but now when I see them I know I am giong to have a great day!

Just finished a Quiz Review Session with ANL and I must say it was nice to discuss poker with someone that has taken interest in reviewing a student's individual capabilities in order to understand how to make that player stronger.

ANL is very open and helpful with providing any serious student with the knowledge they need to climb through the stakes of live 1/2, 2/5, and 5/10 NL. Furthermore, unlike other coaches that seem to not have any form of direction in coaching, ANL can access the type of player you are and what leaks you need to work on so that you have a starting point. With this guidance alone, ANL shows that he is a worthy coach of helping any player better prepare himself for the Live NL Arena.

Thought I'd pop in and post a little message in here with my progress under Bill's tutilage.

I've been working with Bill 2 years now. When I started out, I was a slight loser or break even player at 2-5 live and a loser online at everything.

Now, 2 years later

- I Crush 5-10 live in Las Vegas.
- I just recently cashed the WSOP main event (came 607th)
- Came 29th in another WSOP bracelet event.
- FInal tabled a WSOP circuit event
- Just Monday I came second in a WCOOP bracelet event for $220,000.
- I have other online cashes this year of $34,000 and $12,000

Basically, I'm crushing everything lol... And none of it would be possible without Bill... I've said it before and I'll say it again - he's the best kept secret in poker....

Anyone serious about getting better, and learning fundamentals that will allow you to be a great player - ANL is the place....

Just wanted to share my experience so far with Bill's coaching - I was a bit skeptical at first, but thought for the money, if I win a pot or two that I might not have otherwise I'd be fine, so I took the plunge. I bought the essays, took the intro quiz, and have had two sessions so far.

I've read enough books that if you stacked them up, they'd come to your knee. Yet, I was slowly losing at $2-$5. I read yet another that I thought would help me tremendously, and dropped down to $1-$2 in order to try the new things I'd learned without "feeling the burn" too badly if I couldn't incorporate the concepts properly right off the bat. After losing 10 buy-ins straight, I finally had the first session with Bill.

This man is legit. After our first session, I got 32 hours of play in before our 2nd session the next week. During that time, I was playing with so much more confidence it was incredible. Trusting in Bill's critique of my play and making the suggested adjustments had me playing so much better that I was taken aside and complimented by 2 dealers that week. (I'm a regular at my local casino). Both actually took the time to say - "I like you're new style - it's very good - glad to see it." And "I've know you since day 1, and you've gotten much better. It's good, you're playing well." These unsolicited comments from dealers who have watched my play for a year are a direct reflection of Bill's 1st session.

After consulting with Bill, I was enjoying the game again immediately. Frustration was washed away - I knew I was making better decisions, and even if the cards didn't fall exactly my way, I had a strong sense of confidence that I was now playing my hands correctly, regardless of the outcome. And most know when we consistently do that in poker, the money will inevitably start to flow our way.

After our second session, I had even more to think about, and more ideas on optimal play - in various situations with the same hole cards, in the same position. This is something I think a lot of books don't always address in an understandable way. But when you can actually have an interactive conversation, it becomes clear.

To anyone who seriously wants to improve their game, just know - Bill can and will help you. To anyone out there contemplating the idea of poker coaching - do it. If you win one decent pot that you might not have otherwise, you're even. The rest is all gravy. Bill is awesome at poker, and awesome at teaching. Take the plunge and you'll wonder why you even hesitated. Do it!

I have been working with ANL a little bit lately and it's been worth every penny. His HH analysis is second to none and his 'feel' for the game is almost unbelievable.

If I had to surmise about what makes him different than other coaches, I'd say it's 'seat time.' The man literally has thousands of hours at the table and thousands more (working on his game) off of it. He is not some kid on a two year 'heater,' he's a man whose paid his bills (and his dues) playing poker.

Give him a try, I know I've already improved my game (and my bankroll) with his help and I plan to continue. It was a big step for me to look into coaching as I have been a pretty big winner over the last few years but I felt I could be better. Now I wish I would have acted sooner.

not sure how this works, cus i hardly get the HH and i probably only remember couple of the important hand per session i played. since you are at west coast, i am not so sure if we can still work out something here, can you pm me for more detail, thx

Make shorthand hand histories in your phone. This is the only reason I bring my phone into the casino. I don't even have service! You can also do this on paper. Get a small notepad. This might not be for you if you are self-conscious because it will get you weird looks if it is noticed. For that reason, its a negative with respect to how well you can "blend in" with the table. OTOH, most regulars who see me doing this think (and sometimes ask) if I'm tracking flops or some other nonsense and write me off. Alternately, you could just take frequent "breaks" to make a written notes of anything noteworthy.
