I'm in my 4th month of coaching from Bill,
When I started with bill, I had been playing poker for a total of 5 months , thats cash games at the casino. I loved the game, from watching it on tv, and playing "free" online. But I was getting my assed kicked at the Casino for those first few months.
Now , I have the best 1/2 players, differing to me at the table. I constantly get comments, like , " I'm not messing with you" , and I hate getting in hands with you, you always beat me ".....meanwhile, Im just following what Bill has taught me.
Yes , Bill is a Super advanced high stakes No Limit Pro, but he knows how to turn some one as green as me into a winning player too.

Bump for this ol' man, he brought me from an idiot tossing in cards to a winning 50nl player within about 5-6 sessions. Not only that, the principles that he has taught me in poker have applied across the board in my life as well.

Have now been taking lessons from Bill for about 4 or 5 months. I have continued to improve my game tremendously. I am now beating my 2-5 game for about $40 p/h, up from around $20-25. We are now into much deeper levels of thinking and I really feel like I'm in auto pilot when I play. I wish I had more time to dedicate to my game, as I feel if you have the time, Bill can really take you to the "next level" very quickly. I am slowly getting there with about 1 lesson a week. Anyway give his quiz a try, If you do you will forever change your game for the better. Thanks Bill

I'm definitely interested. Took level 1 quiz and waiting to hear back. What are your thoughts about live coaching? What sort of format do you have in mind? Granted I'll take any excuse for a Vegas trip

I am a student of Bill's and have been working with him for about two months now. My progress is impressive; as I was not a stranger to poker or a beginner at all. In fact I played so much online that I had been a supernova on Pokerstars at 50 nl level. I have all major books and a fairly good understanding of poker theory although my original background was in limit.

Live poker is a different animal. I was successful on my own to a decent extent and built up my bankroll to 10K grinding 1/2NL. Bill has been able to hugely improve my game and he does it by getting me to APPLY the theory that I had in my head. And to apply it at live games which is very different from online.

I really wanted someone who had been there, had seen it all live, and who could explain to me how to improve my game in practical ways. I guess the first most important result I had was to win a lot more that I did usually online from the same situations I faced online. This has a strong effect on my earnings. I am reluctant to tell my BB/hour but it is above generally accepted averages, of course I have good games in my home casino.

I am pleased to recommend Bill's services to anyone genuinely wanting to improve their game. I started by following all his posts but lessons are so much more.

T o be honest, this is one of those reviews that I am somewhat reluctant to give for selfish reasons. I’m all about you taking as many coaching lessons from Bill as your heart desires…as long as you are not going to be sitting across from me at the poker table. I’ve only had about 6 lessons with Bill and I have come to the realization that I, and most of the players at my level, have no idea what we are doing. That is hard to admit to yourself after years of playing and many hours of book reading. Sure, I can calculate outs…odds…implied odds…but the simple truth is….its not enough. Its kind of like trying to take Jiu Jitsu from a book. Sure you can do it…but it doesn’t mean your going to be any good when your done.

My wife doesn’t understand poker. She thinks these lessons are a waste of money and stupid. I told her today, “You know what is stupid? Sitting down at a 2-5 game with a $500 buy in...and NOT taking these coaching lessons.” If I give up poker tomorrow…sure maybe these coaching lessons were a waste of money. But if I am going to honestly continue to play…than I would have to be a complete idiot not to take these lessons. You can disagree with that all you want…and to be honest…I really hope you do…the less you know…the better off that I am.

But the truth is…Bill has been an awesome coach…light years better than I expected…and I owe him an honest review. My advice….take the quiz…if you know it all…than your out a couple bucks and you know your leaps and bounds above the rest of us. I think you will quickly realize that you don’t know anywhere near as much as you thought you did.

When I first started taking Jiu Jitsu years ago, my coach said this to be when I showed back up after the first day, “There are two types of people….those that get submitted the first day by guys half their size and their ego won’t allow them to come back…and those people who get submitted by guys half their size and say to themselves, “I really want to learn this stuff.” Bill’s quiz will be a huge ego bust…what you do with it from there is up to you.

I just recently got the quiz and have taken 3 lessons from Bill. I play 1/2 & 1/3 live NLH and over the course of a couple years (just started playing) have run pretty good and made a bit of money playing on my trips to vegas. Recently I found a bunch of live games near my house and have been playing 2/3 times a week for the past two months. I've started to see what running bad is and the more you play the more you see all the problems in your games.

I've read a few major poker books, Doyle's, Harrington's, Sklansky's, etc and they have given me a basic understanding of strategy...however, they don't put everything together and it seems the only time I win is when I catch cards.

After just 3 lessons, Bill has showed me a very effective strategy to win at this game...from starting opening hands, to overall ideas about playing well, to hand analysis. I've actually seen a big improvement in reading my opponents, putting them on certain ranges, analyzing what their betting patterns mean, etc.

I'm excited to learn about 3-betting and betting sizes...which is something I think most average low limit players have heard about but are clueless to actually executing properly.

It's good to read poker books but even better to learn from someone who's done really well in 1/2, 2/5, 5/10. The best thing is Bill is very articulate and can make his point very clearly. I highly recommend him to those looking to improve...you will need to put work in but if you do decide to use Bill and take your game to the next level, please don't sit across from me at the tables in Vegas

I've had four lessons from Bill so far. He's a great teacher. Think back to your best teachers in school. Your second best teacher was probably cheerful, patient, enthusiastic and well-prepared. Your best teacher was probably all those things, with a sense of humor, too. That's Bill.


Although I still feel like a bonehead most of the time, probably with considerable justification, it is interesting how quickly you begin to garner respect from the regulars, and the extent to which you quickly begin to identify exploitable errors in players who used to seem intimidating. People are starting to stay out of my way, which is weird.

I've posted a few times in this thread, but I wanted to follow up. I've been doing coaching with Bill regularly for 8 months now. My game is night and day from what it was. I used to wonder if maybe I just would never have the skill to beat 1/2 NL. But after a really short period of time I started winning at 1/2 at a good clip and it has done nothing but go up. I have had an extremely good win rate over my last 300 hours at 1/2 and am now comfortably rolled for 2/5 and have been playing that regularly for a short period.

Bill's coaching has given me the confidence and calm to really play well. I used to feel like I didn't really know what I was doing and now when I sit down I feel like I have a huge edge over the other players. The skills I've learned have been huge, and one of the really great things is that Bill's in your corner. Having someone rooting for you, helping with your mental game during a downswing, etc is huge.At least for me, I feel like the coaching's been free - it's paid for itself with winnings I probably never would have seen on my own.

Everything that everyone is saying is true. Working with ANL is a Sure Shot way to improve and beat your game. There is no way possible that you work with ANL, and are still losing after a couple months. No way at all. Bill makes it so easy to understand and is on target all the time. Everything he talks about is fresh and up to date information. When I see a new move that catches me off guard we discuss and he knows what they're doing.
I haven't come across an opponent in my 1-2 1-3 games that threw me off in months. I won 67% of my sessions in the last 600+ hours. Quite sure I have the highest win rate in my game. When I sit with other Full-Time low stakes regs everyone is trying to get to my left. All this is because 1) I put in the work. 2) I found a great coach that loves what he does and is great at Poker AND Coaching poker.

I started working with Bill in August 2011. My improvement at 2/5 has been unreal and there is still so much to learn. It is a process that takes time, but my bankroll is growing fast already. I am moving up to 5/10 in April. Confidence and winning are really great! Thanks Bill! Peter Schumacher
