FYI, ANL has referenced Justin Oliver 11 times in this thread, more than 15% of his posts.

Is ANL advertising his ability to coach or his title as Justin Oliver's coach.

Rob Farha's agenda is pretty obvious. His only interest is in protecting his game. Here's why he stopped posting strategy in his PG&C thread -

Rob doesn't want any of Bill's students coming into his $5/T games so he comes in here and bashes the coaching. Think about it - if the coaching was producing "bad" players, Rob would be happy to see those opponents in his game.

Rob has been playing 5/10NL in vegas for quite a while now. ANL says he has a 7bb/100 at 5/10NL however Rob says he has never seen ANL in any of his games. 5/10NL doesn't run enough for ANL to dodge Rob (or vice versa). Also, a bunch of vegas 2/5NL regs have said they have never seen ANL in any of their games.

You draw your own conclusion.

I work with Bill a lot online. He sweats me while I play. I thought he was nuts when he told me to fold so often in spots where I would clearly fold. The website I play at allows you to see all hands after a 24 hr cycle. I have charted all hands where I have folded and otherwise would not have for all of September. I have folded correctly 117/131. That is 90% boys and girls...and that adds up to a lot of money. That alone has paid for Bill's lessons and then some.

The man is a straight beast on the poker table and I'm very happy he decided to start coaching.

Quite a few have recently asked if I take on any more students.

Short - Yes

Long- My schedule is daunting as I have both live as well as online students now 7 days a week (thank God for Skype as I am travelling a fair amount these days), working in live play when I can as well as having to jump through hoops (travel wise) obtaining avenues for online play due to my main residential address being in Nevada. having said that, yes, I am able to take on new students. I have opened up as early as 5am and stayed for sessions as late as 10:30pm in order to give anyone the attention they desire so there will always be a spot open. My nickname should be NeverSleep as that is what my current students joke with me about.

For any furthur coaching information, please email Bill@anlpoker.com. i will be glad to help you in any way that I can.

A few emails and PM recently sent to me for your own due diligence when finding a coach.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Make sure you find a coach who has a record of producing winning players over a reasonable sample of time. Nothing else matters. Results are what you are looking for and I produce them IF you are willing to work hard. Nothing comes easy in life. Poker is no different.

‎Hey Bill,

Don't mean to take you away from your busy sched, but just wanted you to know that I had a mini breakthrough last night, and for the first time in a while felt in complete control throughout my session.

I forced myself to just relax and think through every street in terms of "what do they have here and what would they do with it if I..." and just like we said it was literally almost like cheating.

Mind you I had a pretty easy table and I was mostly card dead (actually card dead where I was getting 82o J3o like over and over) so it's not like I was involved in every hand, BUT nonetheless the hands that I did get involved in I really felt like I was in the drivers seat the whole time and thanks to that made all the right decisions.

Thanks Bill!

Have a great week and looking forward to chatting with you on Sunday.
Ivan

Your the man Bill. There are a lot of Fortune 500 companies that could learn something about customer service from you. That's no joke.
I will be setting up another session for this weekend too. What have do you have available for Saturday/Sunday?

Bill, your approach to poker has made me both a much better player and also translates well into my law practice. Taking into consideration the quality of the Villian (opposing counsel) and having a hand plan (thinking through what arguments to make depending on the tack of opposing counsel) are crucial to gaining the edge and accomplishing the ultimate goal. And at times, acting at the table may be the most important of all. With weakness there is fear, with a plan there is confidence. Thanks Bill.

To new prospective students,

I come once again as a 2.5 year student of Bills. Why would I have a coach weekly for 2.5 years? EVen after I went from goofing around after work playing 1-2 to crushing the 2-5 where I play in NE USA. Yes, I wont tell players at my cardroom because admittedly I want everyone there to think it is "I" alone that came up with the bone crushing strategies that Bill has and continues to give me.

All the fundamentals were down pat within a year, however now we analyze hands together each week that I play and I learn something new every week. When I started with Bill I allotted $1500 for a 1/2 bankroll and to pay for coaching. I’ve never had to use life money again, and continue to pay for coaching and make profit that keeps my roll growing as i move up in stakes.

You could take all the books, all the conventional poker wisdom, all the live videos that are on the training sites, put a rope around them and a bow on top and you have all the same information wrapped in one package. Not Bills. No sir. His UNCONVENTIONAL strategies completely screw up regs as well as fish as they are not used to seeing lines other than basic. He also has his finger on the pulse of todays games, simply from the 100s of pertinant hand histories he reviews every week .

didn't you say you take winning players and help the move up the limits but here you're posting a msg from someone who, before he met you, had never put a player on a range and tried to decided how he would respond to certain actions and describes it "almost like cheating"

After just one session with Bill I feel like he shined a light on my poker game. In fact, I was left speechless a couple of times after Bill broke down a few building block concepts to me that I have never even considered.

I have been grinding 1/2 and 2/5 with very little success for two years and I have read a lot of books and read a lot of articles online. But during all of my research, I have had very few "Ah Ha!" moments like I did during my one hour session with Bill. In fact, after our first session I went out and played 1/2 and used one VERY UNCONVENTIONAL and SPECIFIC idea that he gave me, and I earned $100 extra dollars on a pot that I would never have gotten if I didn't talk to Bill.

I'm pumped to keep on talking to this man because he is a fountain of knowledge and it's stupid to grind away and try to come up with his groundbreaking strategy on your own.

Hey Bill - Just a quick note to say thanks for your recent pointers and suggested adjustments to my play. Last night I had the opportunity to try a few tweaks, such as really widening my range given certain game conditions / villain tendencies. It really is fun to keep adding on new ideas, try them out, and have them work!

I have to say I didn't even really run that well last night. Many times when I actually had a hand, it was 2nd best. Yet with all the pot building and then stealing I was able to do with the tweaks you suggested, I still walked away a big winner. The fact that I won most of the money with no hand was pretty cool to me. Plus the fact that you're still providing great ideas and adjustments as I progress as a player; when I'm ready to understand and execute those ideas confidently and properly.

It's readily apparent you truly have extensive layers of poker knowledge and wisdom, and a knack for customizing your teachings to the student's level of expertise. It's like once I have something down pat, you're ready with "Ok, now let's work on this to get your winrate up even further." And subsequently, a new door opens for me, and I'm literally WOW'ed yet again.

BTW, I have a few hands for us to go over that I'm curious about - looking forward to that... Thanks again for all you do to help me grow as a poker player. It really is an exciting journey!

Bill,

I just finished up another solid week (was able to put in over 50 hours at the tables this week) at the card room. Man, it feels great to be able to play poker for a living, and I wanted to say "thank you" again for all your help getting me to where I am today. True, I have worked and continue to work hard, but without you I don't think I would've come close -- and I'm positive it would've been a much slower and more confusing path in any case.

I wanted to let you know that I'm discovering more and more situations to pick up dead money and also build up big pots and then steal them. The way everything comes together perfectly sometimes during a hand…I don't know…it's like poetry, man. The way you've taught me to improve my pre-flop strategies, and then outplay villains post-flop by tracking their ranges and tendencies, use creative bet sizing to help with hand-reading, manipulate the pot vs. different types of villains to make them do what I want (fold or call)…I don't know how to explain the feeling, but it's just a beautiful thing. You'll also be happy to hear I'm getting better at estimating on the spot my equity + fold equity and taking on aggressive lines that work incredibly well. I'm seeing more and more of those spots where, "I really don't care if they fold or call."

In addition to your excellent coaching, thank you for your patience, your good humor, and most of all for believing in me through thick and thin.

Can't wait to talk some more hands with you at our session this week!

ANLpoker tip for today.

FOLDING - THE ART OF FOLDING IN NO LIMIT HOLDEM

Nowhere have I seen any written work, videos, whatever concentrating on how important folding is to this game. I have a student who has excelled from 1/3 making $3k per month to averaging $17k to $19k per month at deep 5-10 and online multitabling 400nl and 600nl 6max. Kudos to CB (havent gotten his ok for publicity as yet), but at first he resisted the often times ridiculous folds that I would advise him to make.

After a lengthy experiment he posted his results on my 2+2 coaching thread and they were as follows.

<<<<<<I thought Bill was nuts when he told me to fold so often in spots where I would clearly fold. The website I play at allows you to see all hands after a 24 hr cycle. I have charted all hands where I have folded and otherwise would not have for all of September. I have folded correctly 117/131. That is 90% boys and girls...and that adds up to a lot of money. That alone has paid for Bill's lessons and then some.>>>>>>>

So there you have it. The only folds that were tallied were folds that most players (even winning players) would rarely make. Which is EXACTLY why most players never reach that optimal winrate that they dream of daily.

Things that make you go hmmmm, eh?

Play phenominal guys/gals, and let the others rely on optimism as their gameplan.
