re: 7bb/100 winner on Stars NLHE. Regular coaching. Coaching for profits(New!)

can you explain your reasoning for having a backraising range with these positions?

PokerStars - $2 NL (6 max) - Holdem - 5 players
Hand converted by PokerTracker 4

lucie91 (CO): $262.89
Gabrici_wolf (BTN): $286.22
thecurv (SB): $217.68
Woollyyy (BB): $200.00
ThrowMaNickl (UTG): $237.41

thecurv posts SB $1.00, Woollyyy posts BB $2.00

Pre Flop: (pot: $3.00) Woollyyy has

fold, fold, Gabrici_wolf raises to $5.00, thecurv calls $4.00, Woollyyy raises to $25.00, fold, thecurv raises to $214.00, fold

Spoiler:

Hi Woolly,
I can't discuss my game here for obvious reasons considering I am still a semi-active player on Stars.
I can only say that I have good reasons for my plays in all situations, it wasn't some random tilty move or something like that.

Important note: if you want to apply for the staking deal, please apply to the contact information specified in that thread, not to me directly:
http://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/22...ogram-1533622/

PM or email me directly for normal coaching.

re: 7bb/100 winner on Stars NLHE. Regular coaching. Coaching for profits(New!)

Starting September 15th I will have some free spots for the coaching for profit deal.
You can either email me at coachnlholdem@yahoo.ro or PM me here.
This is for Fullring or 6max holdem no limit.

For this type of deal I will take into consideration many details so you can apply and tell me a bit about yourself.
I will favor players who are dedicated and hard working over players who are very talented but lazy.
If someone plays for 8 hours a day usually he will have more success than someone who has more talent but just plays 2 hours/day and gets tired even doing such low volume :-)

There is also a staking+coaching deal available at this url:
http://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/22..****ome-1533622/
If you want to apply for this one just follow the instructions from that thread, I won't be doing the selection process for the staking deal myself so you shouldn't email or PM me directly for the staking deal, only for the normal coaching for profits deal.

The latest coaching for profits student, he started around 20th of July.
I posted the by month details, as you can see he was breakevenish/losing small for the last 4 months but I accepted him anyway because he seemed to be the hard-working-no complaining type.

And in the first coaching month he got to 5bb/100 winrate and also moved up a stake!

those numbers are misleading without EV winrates and additional statistics tbh

The results are played on pokerstars at the same games as before.

I don't see how posting more stats is relevant to the results.
If you see his 3bet at X% for example does it make the result more or less impressive?
"ah, sure you went from -0.4bb to 5bb in the first month but I'm not impressed because your 3bet is just X% and your won at showdown is just Y%?" :-)

Or do you think it could just be a coincidence or just variance that after 4 breakevenish months before coaching he has 5bb after coaching?

That is fullring not 6max(I coach both), he is actually a lot looser than the average player despite ~15 tabling.
The average FR player is around 16% vpip.

We are talking about results here though not about the game of poker and how to play it strategy wise, I wouldn't want to reveal everything I teach to a student in private for free here obviously :-)

It's the same thing that you asked in a previous post about what my range and reasoning is for having a back raising range in SB. I wouldn't want to reveal that here to everyone, that wouldn't really be fair to actual paying students.

If you check other coaching threads most don't even show VPIP/PFR or the site(s) the hands were played on.
I already revealed too much as it is.

re: 7bb/100 winner on Stars NLHE. Regular coaching. Coaching for profits(New!)

I have had many sessions with Sorin while climbing the stakes and he has been very helpful to me. I started taking coaching from him while beeing a 25nl FR winner, and he helped me progress to mainly playing 100nl FR and ocassionaly playing up to 400nl FR, after I decided to change to 6max 100nl he helped me to be a winner at the games while i had very little experience with 6max (a few 10nl hands)

He also never asked me to write a review for him and he was very active on skype when i had questions.

I would definitely recommend him and I believe he can make any micro stakes player at least a 200nl winner.

Thank you for the review.

When a student is looking for a coach, this should be one of the first questions he asks himself:
Has this coach proven he can teach players in my situation improve their winrates significantly/move up in stakes?

Most coaches have an impressive resume as players, myself included.
What is his coaching experience?
Is that coach able to teach others what he knows?
Is he even willing to do it or he'd rather keep most of his knowledge to himself?

Hi Sorin,

Do you accept US students? I'm new to the board so can't accept PMs yet.

Thanks

it's easier if you're outside the US but if you are dedicated enough and hard working I will still accept you.
