Re: ***Official Staking Discussion Thread: Use this thread for Selling Shares advice/questions*

I am really confused by the policy on this site. I want to sell some action on Sundays play as N0b0dy. Could get big player refs and even stars VIP rep to reference me, but the mods here want me to post on forums...

Question for mods:

Is there a way we can get some sort of code label [Example: (***US Acc.***)] for threads selling shares where the player is accepting money such as Merge, PayPal or US Bank xfers. I always go through all the threads trying to find these types and it'd save a lot of time for myself and people doing the same.

Obviously the players could put the label themselves or if they're accepting something of the sort and don't put the label a mod could add it on later.

I'm sure this is discussed somewhere else, but I couldn't find it...

What is the going rate for people trying to sell their FT balance?

Could someone please point me to where that is being discussed or answer the question?

Thanks.

Additional question: Since when is MU so high?
Have been browsing here for some time to find some nice low/mid stake package for occasional sweats, but meh, between 20% and 30% seems standard these days... too much if you ask me.
Don't want to derail stake threads, that's why i posted my concerns here...

Cheers

Re: ***Official Staking Discussion Thread: Use this thread for Selling Shares advice/questions*

Posted this in the wrong subforum, so repost:

Hi guys, I have a question.

I wanted to grind some EPT side events in Madrid (sat to the ME, 2k Holdem, 1k Holdem and possibly some lower turbo's in there..) and was thinking of selling some shares on here. My last few packages have run extremely well and were generally sold out very quickly and have a pretty unblemished reputation. The point is however that for poker tournaments in a foreign country I have to pay 29% Tax over my profit - this rule is for everybody in The Netherlands and as silly as it is I cannot deduct selling 50% of my action from the total profit. So my question is would such a package sell or am I just going to get flamed for asking (what effictively is going to be) a pretty high MU?

My stats are:

My Statistics
9,584 $25 $83 40% $235,902

And as for live experience I have 2 cashes over like 15 tourny sample (11th in a 1500 FO for 6.7k and 3th in a 550 Bounty for 4.8) plus some decent live cash experience.

My past few threads are here:

http://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/16...no-mu-1166125/
http://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/16...no-mu-1166983/

I do honestly believe that I am still a +EV buy even with those tax deductions otherwise I would not be playing them in the first place but just wanted to get some input.

Note that in my previous package I sold without mark-up but was told by a lot of people including buyers that I really should be charging MU - something I haven't seen often in the Marketplace.

i canīt open a New Thread for my Staking search. I get the message:

Re: ***Official Staking Discussion Thread: Use this thread for Selling Shares advice/questions*

Some general thoughts on the Merge packages:

Mainly I'm wondering about what Markup should be in general in a lot of these packages, especially the ones during the week. I started thinking about this because I buy action a lot and notice a lot of these tournaments don't have a very big field size. Merge also seems more "reg-infested" than a site like the traditional Stars/FTP. It just doesn't seem to me like people should be marking up their action at the same price they would be with Stars.

Now, one argument is that they'd be stupid to lower it when they're getting booked anyways. But if in reality the markup should be a bit less people are more likely to eventually get to the point where they realize it's not as profitable and just stop buying action all together.

I don't want to go into anyones individual thread and say anything about this because that's rude, unethical, etc. and I don't think I'm allowed to start a thread in the forum for this so I'm posting it here where, unfortunately, not many people are gonna see it. But I think it's definitely something that's true. I have a degree in actuarial science, minor in stats, very good with numbers, etc. and I'm pretty sure I'm right here. A lot of the MTTs I pull up that are parts of packages literally have 40-50 players and those one's are sort of higher stakes like $20 or $30 rebuys, sometimes $80 rebuys, etc. and these have a lot of regs in them. There's no way someone has a huge ROI in those and we're paying 19-24% in a lot of the packages.

Just a thought. I'll probably keep booking action because there's still value there and it's technically +EV, but I'm pretty sure there's not a ton of value at all. Seems like the investors should be getting more value here too because they are, after all, a part of this whole equation in the marketplace.

Is there a specific procedure needed to be done to start selling packages?
What is meant by 'having an account on good standing'?

account in good standing just means not having scammed or been involved in shady stuff. Once you have been a member for 6 months and read the marketplace sticky you'll be able to start threads.

My account is from August last year but I haven't been here much. Would I still be able to qualify if I complete the other requirements? I also think that eventhough my account was registered more than 6 months ago it wasn't activated until recently.

I have a lot of references and people who can vouch for me here additionally.

I think account creation is the most important part. References and vouches are meaningless.

Re: ***Official Staking Discussion Thread: Use this thread for Selling Shares advice/questions*

Few things that haven't been talked about in the buyer/seller relationship that I try to look/do for when I can

1) Talk to them- With skype this is a lot easier, you can find out a lot about the person just by the way they talk and act towards you. If it feels good, its probably good

2) Have a career outside of poker- Young guns that travel and play all the time seem to lose their edge and try to have their raw ability do all the work for them. People that use poker as a profitable hobby I find not only take their game seriously, but aren't looking at the tournament as the chance to bink to get food on the table, its a way to make money on the side, and that mindset is everything

3) 0% ROI is better than getting rolled - Oftentimes if its too good to be true, then it probably is. I have seen people time and time again make investments they know seem too good to be true only to see it stolen within a week, yes without risk sometimes you hit yourself in the head but having the money sit idle is better than putting it in a bad spot

I'm sure I'll think of others but will be interesting to see what the MP has in store... I think I might return for a 7-10 days this summer so hopefully its active
