Hi, I want to test the 2p2 app on my phone. Basically post a pic or two, try stuff out. Is there a proper place to do this? Please let me know and thank you.

Test of my phone...

Edit - Yes, this is the first (and probably the last, lol) post from my "Smart" phone, a phone that remains considerably smarter than me, even to this day...

So we test your patience here?

Probably have to do it manually with the img tags and a link to the url of the hosted image. In the Android app the image upload is not supported as 2p2 does not host images.

I don't have the option to use the img tags in the app, assuming I am using it right.

Exactly, that is why I stated manually. By typing it out.

imgur.com is way better than photobucket and imageshack that are "recommended". With imgur, you don't need to create an account, and you can "upload" an image directly from a URL or from your computer's clipboard.

Someone should update that closed thread.

i was just checking it out and it looks like it is essentially the same process for the most part. not sure how you can do it without and account. i registered, selected a jpg from my computer, and uploaded it to imgur. then it looks like posting it would be about the same process too. you copy the the 'direct' info from the box and put that between img tags here.
haven contacted me about updating that post, but it just looks like it needs an edit to include imgur and saying it is basically the same process.

It is largely the same if you register an account at imgur and upload an image file from a folder on your computer, but imgur has 3 features which don't need either of those.

1) You don't need an account. Not sure why you thought one was needed, but most times I upload a picture, I do it while not logged in to my account.

2) You can upload from images found on a web page using a URL without saving the image on your computer first.

3) You can upload from your computer's clipboard without saving to an image file on your computer first.

Not needing to sign in to an account, and not needing to save as a local file first does make imgur better than other sites (unless they have changed since I last looked at them)

where on imgur does your pic end up is you are not on an account and upload a pic? also, how can you access that pic again if it was uploaded that way? just looking for info to use to update the pic poast.

tested the web uploading and that is pretty cool. although the original how to wasn't designed for 'more advanced' things, just a basic how to poast a pic since we get that A LOT.

the #3 thing you posted seems to still require that a pic is saved to your comp and you just ctrl c it then ctrl v it to imgur, so really doesn't seem to be too much of a time saver to finding the pic in the folder you saved it too unless i am missing somthing.
new to imgur so that might def be the case.

If someone doesn't mind putting together a simple post with imgur instructions, I can copy it into that thread.

that is kind of why i am asking some of these questions. don't know if it will be a picture one like the original since it is very similar, but trying to learn some of the ins and outs. thanks mang.

Well, that is the downside of not registering or logging in. If you upload a pic while not registered/logged-in, you can't edit the pic after you've posted it, and you can't delete it unless you save the deletion link that is given when posting the image.

There are some times that you want to want upload an image (or part of an image) from the clipboard that was never a file. For example, using Alt-PrtScr to copy an image of a window, or a ctrl-c copy of a selection within an image editing program. Not needing to save as a file saves a couple of steps.

If no-one else does so within the next 18 hours or so, I will do this since I raised the subject.

i can understand the advantage of the clipboard thing, but still think it goes beyond the scope of the op. i had trouble uploading pics when i got here and was embarrassed to ask how to do it, so when i learned a lot more i made the post to show people a basic way of doing it (those were the top sites at the time). it wasn't supposed to be anything more than how to get an image from somewhere to here in simple instructions. it really looks like imgur falls in that category for uploading images and is more popular now than the other two. will work on a poast to add to the op. thanks bogus for the info. it is much appreciated.

Yeah, probably so, but I was just listing the things that make imgur better than (what I know of) photobucket and imageshack.

I won't be able to even start working on a poast until ~7PM ET tonight (Wednesday) Feel free to "have at it" first, but I'm quite happy to submit a poast if you want.
