Similar to what Ray said.
Get a used table, get a professional to install new rubber and new cloth (Simonis cloth is what we used to use - I assume they are still around) and get a good playing experience.
A new pool table with poor rubber and cheap cloth will not play as well as that.
Also, make sure your room has room for the table you want. Don't make your game room tight and make shots awkward. A 7 footer with enough room around it is more fun than a 9 footer with walls squeezing you in, IMO.
