Power Snooker 2011

has anyone been watching this? i managed to catch some of the coverage today. seems like they have increased the size of the tournament. but it still has the same atmosphere.

the draw and schedule is up here http://www.itv.com/sport/powersnooke...schedule-2011/

Just realised that this was on.

Carter didn't seem like a happy bunny in his post match interview just now.

Re: Power Snooker 2011

Watched it last year, didn't catch any this year. Interesting idea but I'm not convinced it does too much to promote the game.

Re: Power Snooker 2011

I think its main purpose is to attract a younger audience what with the continous action, cool lighting effects, and futuristic/electric terminology.

who'd have thought that high variance formats produce random winners. i want to see martin gould play nigel bond in a black ball decider for £50k

Re: Power Snooker 2011

They could've at least made the semi-finals 45 minutes and the final an hour. I think you deserve a little more play deep in a tournament. Still not impressed with it tho, but they want a different sort of fan, so whatever.

Re: Power Snooker 2011

Think its a cool format, especially for fast thinking players like ronnie o'sulllivan, but i don't think it will replace or even become as popular as regular snooker.
