Just came back from a 10 hour session.

Brag: Two 9ball breaks in a row, bringing my lifetime total up to 5.
Brag: Played 9 ball with a former French national champion.
Brag: Won my fair share of racks. Managed to stay focused even at the tail end of the session.
Beat: Ass on silver platter anyways.
Variance: He respects my game. I made a couple sick multiple rail kick shots and tough banks. He said he only wanted to shoot for an hour or two but ended up playing til 1am because he liked the way I play 9 ball.

watched The Color of Money and love the hustle plays. Brings the old school gambler out in me that poker cannot evoke so vividly.

Building up my pool playing momentum after years of rec. playing straight pool and have my grind on the mind right now..."Money won is twice as sweet as money earned."

Glad to see Darren Morgan win. I used to like watching him - never felt like he achieved his potential. Also, he's been retired for 10 years? Must've retired quite young.

Jeanette Lee is doing some sort of appearance/clinic at my pool hall tonight. Brag? is it worth going to see that hottie in person? is she even hot in person?

So I went to the Jeanette Lee show last night; it was as boring as watching paint dry.

She had a security entourage that followed her everywhere like she was a celebrity. Her show consisted of her giving a motivational speech about sticking to your guns and finding something you're good at and she talked a bit about her personal challenge with Scoliosis. The actual entertainment part of her show consisted of her doing like 3 really basic trick shots and then playing pool with a list of challengers.

I actually went to the pool hall hoping to get some practice time in, but her contract stipulated that they had to shut down all pool tables a half-hour before she got there and no play could resume until she left. The pool hall basically did almost no business for about a 4 hour time span from 5:30pm until like 9:30 when she left out the back door.

I don't want to sound all negative about it so I will say that she was a very good speaker and an absolutely GORGEOUS woman in person. I don't really see stars in my eyes for celebrities, so I didn't line up to meet her or get a picture or anything, but those that did seemed pretty enamoured with her personality. She's been through a pretty challenging life dealing with scoliosis and I think it's pretty incredible that she has reached the heights she did.

Sounds like a fairly disappointing event. I hate it when promoters advertise a celebrity coming in a bar/club/pool hall/music store/book store/etc. and the celebrity just gives a standard workshop or speech followed by limited interaction with a few fans.

Also, I'm probably gonna get flamed here but I don't find Jeanette Lee all that attractive. Then again, I burnt out my yellow fever when I was 13 and got internet.

Just ordered a schon cue from ebay, can't wait to get it in mah hands. I've been looking for a good cue to replace my falcon as I don't like 'hit' of the carbon-fiber joint. It was pricey, but should last a lifetime so I'll be happy with my purchase! Now to get practicing more often..

No idea who she was until this thread, I agree but I did find a pic where I think she looks good:

I was playing 9 ball with an older guy who had a snooker background today. Due to his apparent age, snooker background, and my observation that his break cue doesn't break into a short jump cue, I deduced that he probably was not a fan of jumpshots. So I sank the ball on a break and found a spot where I could see but not pot the 1 ball. Pushed into a jump shot, he promptly gave it back to me, and I proceeded to channel my inner Earl Strickland and jumped it in with a full length break cue. It tickles me that if Earl saw that shot, he'd be amused I took a play from his playbook.

Just stumbled onto a full upload of the '94 UK Championship final

Hendry v Doherty where Hendry makes 7 centuries in a best of 19.

The following situation came up in a casual Snooker game between friends.

Player A misses, and leaves the chalk on the table.
Player B shoots, the white jumps off the object ball, onto the rail, rolls atop the rail (looking as if it is going to leave the table), until it collides with the piece of chalk, and rolls back onto the table.

What would be a common ruling here? Act as if the chalk never was there? (That's what was done).

AFAIK as long as the balls come to rest on the bed of the table, anything can go on inbetween.

Made my first jump bank. Doozy too. Played a horrible position shot onto the 8 ball and got myself snookered. 8 ball was half an inch off the left rail and on the same plane as the foot spot. Cue ball was behind the head string and so close to the right rail I could bridge on it. Full ball in the way. Long distance jump cross corner. 8 ball went straight into the heart of the pocket.

Got my hands on what is apparently a prototype Snooker cue from Predator.

Ive never seen one before, and apparently there is a very wide range of qualities. What should I look for?

It has a 314^2 SnKR shaft which looks to be a premium (?) Quality maple.

Too light for my taste on a snooker table though, feels about 17oz

I've been asked to evaluate it. Any advice?
