It was (possibly) worse than that as Robertson had a 145 in the following frame to take the highest break of the tourney too:

He always struck me as someone that would be really fun to hang out with.

Me and a buddy were practicing at the pool hall last night and a couple strong players wanted to play some $50 a head scotch doubles 9 ball. He's about even with them in strength and I'm the weakest player in the group. We got a 1 game spot in a race to 9 which probably should have favoured them, but last night I played completely over my head. I barely missed all night, locked them up in some disgusting spots and we ran out so many tables it was gross. One of the sets was 8-7 and we broke and ran a 10 ball table that was ridiculously difficult. We won 3 sets for 150$ each, but it wasn't so much the money as it was an incredible confidence booster.

Does anyone know of a site (that won't give my cpu AIDS) where I can stream live snooker? I'm in the US and was unable to find anything for the Worlds....

If you have a VPN that has a uk server (most do) you can watch the bbc player online. If not most games are uploaded to youtube a few hours later. here's the link for the first session of the last four https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tgMAdSrAmfI

Yeah, baby! Just dragged home an abortion of a valley 3.5x7 table that I got for a hundred bucks. Got it so cheap because it was situated in a basement dungeon of a bar with some long steep steps to navigate. Cabinet is good except for some paint on it that I'll have to remove, slate is perfect, and the rail rubber is good although delaminated so I'll have to re-glue it.

Some new cloth, and some elbow grease, and I should have a top-notch setup in my garage. With the amount I play, it should pay for itself in a month or two.

If you don't know how long it was sitting and how the conditions were, replace the rubber while you are getting it reclothed IMO.

The rubber was surprisingly good, I think it was a recent addition that they failed to use proper adhesive on.

Here's where I'm at:

I've decided against new cloth til next year, as this isn't as bad as I first thought. The stains are slowly but surely being beaten back, and it turned out to be Championship cloth and not the no-name bar junk I thought it was.

The wood of the end rail was totally destroyed and had nothing left to staple to (you can see it on the left edge of the table), so I built a new one from scratch. The other two side rails I've uncovered have been in much better shape, and I've been able to just re-glue the rubber and recover them. Hopefully the last 3 are as good.

Got the painted laminate fairly clean using contact cement thinner and scrapers on it, with the rails removed. I may eventually re-laminate them, but they're plenty good for now.

I ordered two of these bad boys for light. At a combined 7600 lumens, they'll be plenty bright enough.

I also found a new set of Cyclop skittles balls on ebay for $200 CAD shipped, so I'm pretty durn excited about that. The balls that came with the table may have been the worst "set" that I've ever seen.

In the pic it looks pretty crowded, but once done I'll have over 5 feet of room all the way around, so it'll make for some relaxed stroking. No obstacles.

Wheeee! So excited!

Nice. I like a good bar box. I find a lot of people try to jam a bigger table into a small space and that makes the game less fun.

Enjoy.

... aaand done:

Got some good Championship cloth on her, some excellent LED lights, and a set of Cyclop TV balls. Got myself a tip-top setup now for less than $600 all-in.

I'd love to say that I ran my first table, but it wasn't meant to be. Played several cash sets on it tonight and there were more EROs than usual though. That fast cloth is awesome for break and runs.

This is the guy who missed out on 2 maximums on the final black last season.

Why so many red balls, I don't get it?
