Just wondering if a discussion about foosball is worth it - and where the thread should reside.

Really cool game when you can find high level play. Which has always been very rare for me. One friend learned a little bit of decent technique around Lafayette, LA decades ago. And he's well beyond me. Actually I'm not sure I've ever seen good play live. Of course there's everything on youtube.

I read a random article or two on foosball in the past couple years or so. I think one described an attempt a pro league in the 70s. Maybe even some televised. But I read so many articles it's hazy now.

I can only talk about the midwest and there was a pro tour in that area from the late 70' to the mid 80's. There was also a fairly competitive BigTen intramural tournament every year. I do see tournament tables every once in a while. I saw some kids (30 somethings) from Europe playing at a pool hall near Disney a while back. They were real, real good.
