So what i was thinking once you feel very comfortable playing golf wouldnt the optimal play be to be looking at the pin for more accuracy?

As is pool you are making contact with the cue ball with no focus at all, you are concentrating on the object ball an the precise point you want to hit.

Could this apply?

Nah. If pool was about putting the cue ball directly into the pocket, we'd focus on the hit, not the target.
