So I've been rewatching the series lately on Netflix and forgot how good it can be at times. Considering that it ran from 1987 to 1994 (IIRC), the show is definitely ahead of itself in terms of the science and special effects. Most of it still holds up 25 years later.

Anyway, I'd have to say "Q Who?" is my favorite ep. It's the one where Q flings the Enterprise 7000 light years away and the crew first runs into the Borg. Q episodes are always entertaining. So are Borg ones. Put them both together and that's pretty much why this is my favorite.

Since the forum search didn't turn up much for this series, feel free to use this thread to discuss anything you want about the show (unless it's been done to death before [sorry y'all ]), such as plot holes, inconsistencies, problems with newly discovered science, non-nitty flaws about Data, etc...

It was as good as any Star Trek Movie. Awesome.

I think it's called "Inner Light", the one where Picard lives out his life as an old man. Really amazing episode, full of feels!

I'm partial to alternate reality or timelines shifted episodes. Yesterday's Enterprise was one of my faves.

Gained some points as there were none of the "Evil Federation" alternate reality episodes we saw in TOS or DS9 , Enterprise. Not sure if there were any in Voyager , trying to forget it.

Ditto. Time travel, parallel universes, wormholes. Add those to Q and Borg episodes and we're golden.

I liked Voyager.

voyager was fantastic. i hated janeway at first, but she grew on me.

voyager didn't have any mirror universe episodes.

tng series finale "all good things" was great

There are a lot of good episodes which will be mentioned so I'm trying to think of some of the ones I loved which might not appear in any top 10 lists on the net.

S7's Genesis is one of those imo. Data and Picard are off the Enterprise while some kind of retro virus de-evolves the crew. As close to a horror episode as TNG ever got close to.

De-Evolved Worf was pretty badass.

Nth Degree was pretty cool watching Howling Mad Murdock become the smartest being of all time.

Darmok (and Jilad at Tanagra)

And whichever episode where Crusher and Troi were clad in tight exercise garb stretching each other out. Plot doesn't matter.

Just a few of my fav's from season one. Too many to list in all 7 seasons. But anything with the Klingon Empire/Borg/Q are basically golden.

I just saw this last episode. And yeah, it's pretty creepy for this show.

Don't know the name, but the episode where a mind controlling game takes over the ship and Wesley and the girl he is macking on manage to figure it out and save the day.

Only because the girl was hot.

Oh, and the one where Yar seduces Data.

"Inner Light" was the best for me.

Another one that I like is the one where Commander Data beats an egotistical alien in a game called "Stratagema".

Best the best Star Trek episodes were in the original series. "Mirror Mirror", "Space Seed", the one with Joan Collins, and "Corbomite Maneuver".

This may sound silly, but I sometimes get really jealous. Like when the crew is standing on the bridge and looking at something like a close-up of a star/sun on the main view screen, saying, "Isn't it beautiful"?" or whatever. I get this warm fuzzy feeling inside thinking about how awesome it is and wishing like hell that I was there with them.

Season 6 episode 15 Tapestry

I love this episode for so many reasons.

Picard's artificial heart gives out due to some random energy surge and he dies on the operating table. He is surprised to see that the afterlife is not at all as he expected since Q is the supreme being of the universe. Q allows Picard the choice of dying as the man he was or he can change the events that lead him to require a replacement heart in the first place, thus allowing him to survive the random energy surge which ultimately killed him.

i went to the star trek experience in vegas before it closed down. it was the coolest thing ever. you got beamed onto the enterprise and got to walk around on the ship and go to the bridge. then you flew around vegas in a shuttle craft while klingons shot at you

WTF closed down! Where did it go?? I want.

It got closed down almost half a dozen years ago.

Not to worry. Just spin around the sun at light speed and go back in your timeline to the mid-2000's or earlier.

The best for me was the one in which they play poker in the beginning and time starts to loop. When I first saw I thought there was a glitch on the TV station.

Other than that, all episodes with Q are golden.
