Hopefully, with the fact that Sorkin uses a lot of similar actors, maybe we'll get to see some of the boobies I've been wanting to see. AINSLEY AND NATALIE ONE TIME!!!!
Pretty sure Ainsley was in a movie in the late 90s with Schwimmer called Boob Doctor or something ...

Spoiler:
She shows her boobs.

Edit: Who it Natalie? Do you mean Mallory?

I think what kept my interest going was how little knowledge I had in regards to how the political machine works, and felt after researching, that i was being sold a fairly accurate depiction of it all along with the entertainment.
They did a magnificent job of accuracy with the series. I remember reading a column about The American President(interesting turnabout where the movie predates the TV series), where the secret service had issues with the amount of detail in the depiction of the West Wing. That of course carried on for the series.

From a rewatchable standpoint, the series will always be. There were so many guest spots, some became arcs, some just randomly reappeared to add elements, and others were used and discarded (typical political move). I wanted
Spoiler:
Arnie Vinnick to to win the general
at the end, but his arc played out well.

It was called Breast Men, Chris Cooper was in it as well.

Allison Smith was hot in the early seasons

I can't think of many serial dramas that are as rewatchable as The West Wing. Every time I see one I get a big grin on my face and I shake my head in wonderment over how damn good the show was.

Thanks for the information.
I got into TWW after S60 as well. A friend of mine had just bought a new laptop and wanted to watch something in HD, so he downloaded the first file he could find and it happened to be S60. He told me about it and I was hooked from the pilot.

Right after S60 ended, I saw TWW season 1 for sale at Amoeba for $9.99 and figured what the hell. Great idea.

Not sure if spoilers are needed on an appreciation thread of a show that ended 5 years ago.

I'm pretty sure Mandy was dated the day it aired. That character was just so much worse than everyone else, her scenes were jarring to watch

I noticed the person posting after me has just started watching it for the first time. As many of us have, many years later. I avoided threads like this until I was done personally, unless it used spoilers.

It's funny how Mandy completely disappeared. Not one mention, just "POOF" and she's out.

Not like Sorkin to forget an important detail like that, but she was so bad, I'm sure everyone was more then happy to see her go.

i put 'spoilers' in the title, edited that other post. there is no need to use tags and i won't begrudge anyone who doesn't, though imo it's nice to do so if you're talking about big 'wow' twisty type things like
Spoiler:
cj's dude getting killed
because these type of threads do get some casual viewers who are thinking about checking the show out.

you have maybe already read this :

Quote:
The character appeared only in the first season, and her appearances became less and less frequent as the episodes progressed. She departed from the show without plot explanation after the first season ended.[3][10] Series creator Aaron Sorkin said that the character was not working out,[10][11] and the decision for Moira Kelly's departure from the show was amicable:[11]
"Moira is a terrific actress, but we just weren't the right thing for her. She expressed that she felt the same way, and as a result, story lines hadn't been invested in that character, because we knew that at the end of the year, we'd be shaking hands and parting company."
she was pretty universally disliked by fans afaik, for good reason of course.

Sabrina Lloyd, first saw her in Sliders. She was in the first season of Numb3rs. More cute than hot, but she had moments.

True, but her kind of cute is my favorite kind. Especially when that show came out. She was flawless.

Wait.. Sorkin is doing a series on HBO? And it's about a cable news show?

Is this heaven?

The West Wing is my favorite show of all time. I didn't even watch it til after it went off the air, so obv it ages incredibly well.

I think Mandy was supposed to be Josh's love interest but Donna had such good chemistry with Josh they went with her instead.

I still get goosebumps while watching Two Cathedrals.

In my mind she has never changed.

One thing Sorkin did very well with both her and Amy Gardner was develop this cute girl with a guy's best friend personality that oozed sexuality. The last season Amy Gardner appearances were just not as good.

That was because of her position in the Santos campaign. She no longer was much of relationship interest after her stint as COS for the First Lady. The bit where she taped Josh to the chair after the Santos live ad was the last playful act.

My favorite open:
"Mr. Grant, have you ever played organized ball?"
...
"[at] Duke."
...
Toby drives and gets his shot blocked. "Charlie, guard the new guy."

Well put Sluss. I haven't seen Sabrina Lloyd since the show, but I'm sure she's just as I remember.

Also, one of my favorite guest spots was John Larroquette in Ainsley's first episode. I really wish he'd have stuck around longer. Such a great actor.

I've never understood why people hate on season 5 so much. IMO seasons 5-7 are all better than most of seasons 3 and 4.

I'm surprised I've only watched each episode like 3 times as this show is so great. I believe Sorkin penned the first 3 reasons, and to me, it seemed like there was a dropoff somewhere in the fourth season until the end, where it picked up a bit.

This thread had me rewatching it this weekend. The scene where Josh relives the shooting with Yo-Yo Ma playing Bach is such a powerful scene.
